Please folks, if you have a reply to the inhuman and disgusting post made by Taxplaya - - please, please do not copy his post in your reply. I've been deleting his disgrace. Copying it in your replies only lets it see the light of day again and again.

Thanks.

Its nice to see lots of respect on forums like finheaven. 90% of the members are being respectfull about it but I saw 3 or 4 distastefull comments about the incident in the thread. What a bunch of sick ass holes who joke about this.

i saw a disrespectful post on chargers board..asked. "was he 1 of the players that did the merriman dance on the field" ..nicely enough though, his fellow posters went nuts on him asking what difference does it make and what not

Says who?

They mentioned it on every sportsflash, but the rest of the time was spent talking about if Brian Cashman or Joe Torre was responsible for the Yankees' problems.

I don't know about after 12....but up until then they were on the ball. You can't cover it all the time, i thought they did a good job

my $.02

Re: Breaking News - Marquise Hill in Lake Pontchartrain

Right....maybe you should keep your prospective to yourself........anyone who would state a persons performance in the same breath and hoping they arent alive shouldnt be given the gift of prospective...and any sane person who saw that quote would think the exact same thing that I thought....

I didn't take it that way, and i would like to think i am sane. I just took it as he was saying that despite what people thought of him as a football player the important thing was him as a man. The important issue is the man and his family, with that said though we can't put football out of this because how many of us on here would know him without him being a member of the pats? RIP Mr Hill, we will remember you as a good man and a proud member of our patriot family

Re: Breaking News - Marquise Hill in Lake Pontchartrain

Many posters saw it and didn't take it that way. Only your twisted mind took it that way.

Reply if you want,I won't see it- you are dead to me, goodbye.

Great choice of words on this day to tell someone they are dead to you. Very classy. Someone disagrees with you and you wish them death on the very same day this tragic incident takes place. I'm disgusted but won't waste anymore time with this nonsense. It's just a shame that some people care more about themselves right now than a person who gave his life so someone else could live. "You are dead to me." That's just great.

RIP #91 and may God be with his family and loved ones during this tragic time in their lives.

I'm not going to even comment on the nonsense I've seen here today, which apparently includes quite a few people who lack the ability to put a real "perspective" on things.

As a parent I can't even imagine what his parents must be going through. When I was younger shortly after I graduated high school I lost a good friend of mine who drowned that I knew from the time I was 8. I grew up with him and he lived three houses down from me on my street and we hung out nearly every afternoon after school along with with several other people who also lived on our street. I went over to visit his parents and his brother after it happened and this whole event brings back those memories....it's unbelievable. Their faces are thoroughly engrained in my memory and I'll never forget it. You should never outlive your kids, and I'm sure his parents and family are all in shock and pretty damn upset right now.

I'm sure that there are also some devastated players in that locker room who could give two s&*ts about how much playing time he had or whether or not he'd be on the roster for this year. They lost a friend, and his parents lost a son. I really hope any future posts are thought out a little more by a few people here before you click that "Submit" button.

Ian

Well said Ian...another reason why i am thankful to have this board

Marquise was the father of a young child, which makes things even worse. People on here don't know much about me, but I had to take a nuture walk earlier this evening so I could clear my head (after hearing Marquise was presumed drowned.) I feel pretty bad, and upon hearing the final verdict I got a little emotional. This is something that really puts playing into perspective. During this offseason I've been worried about recovering from injury so I could get back on the field and help my team. I should have been worrying about rehabbing for my family and my future health before worrying about football. Truelly, my heart goes out to Marquise' family and children. I'll say a prayer for all of them tonight.

Rather than waste time responding to any classless remarks I'll just repost two classy remarks on this sad occasion.

PATRIOTS COACH BILL BELICHICK

“We have suffered a stunning and tragic loss today. Marquise will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring young man who established himself as one of the year-round daily fixtures of our team. I send my deepest condolences to the Hill family.”

PATRIOTS CHAIRMAN/CEO ROBERT KRAFT

“We are absolutely heartbroken to learn of Marquise’s death. Our immediate thoughts go to Marquise’s mother, Sherry, and the rest of his family. He was only 24 years old and his death is hard to comprehend. Marquise was a very respectful young man who worked hard to improve and was always eager to contribute to the team, both on the field and in the community. On behalf of the entire Patriots organization, we extend our most heartfelt sympathies to Marquise’s family and friends who mourn his loss.”

This is a real bummer! I just heard about it. Marquise wasn't exactly my favorite player, but this transcends the mortal world of sports. May the family and friends of Marquise Hill find the comfort they need during this tough time. Rest in Peace!

Here is a pic of where the body was found. The area sticking out next to where the body was found is Lakefront Airport (a smaller airport that is generally used for minor flights and corporate, private flights). The blue line is the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway...a 24 mile bridge across the lake. It is the longest bridge in the world. The deepest point of Lake Pontchartrain, which is an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico is 18 feet. On the South side of lake is South Metro New Orleans..known as "The South Shore." The North Side is the Northern Suburbs known as "The North Shore." On the North Shore just to the right of the Causeway, another gentleman died yesterday when his wife was on a jet ski that went dead. She had on a life jacket, and he didn't. He jumped into the lake to swim towards her jet ski and drowned. Lake Pontchartrain is a water recreational area for all of Metro New Orleans. The largest Yacht clubs in the South are located on its shores. I just thought it would be interesting to get familiar with a lake that is far away from where you live.....

What a tragic way for a young life to go. Makes it more tragic knowing that he is leaving a 3 year old baby behind...

Wish the Pats and us fans dedicate this season to Marquise Hill, who in his last actions, showed us what a great selfless human being he was.

I just learned about this a few hours ago, and I still do not want to believe it. I wish this could have been avoided, but to all credit to Marquise he went out on top. He has been a success at everything he has done, and because of his heroism, a women's life was saved. I wish we could have known you more as a person Marquise, but the best of wishes go out to your family. I know you will be missed. I read all 31 pages of posts of how we will miss you as Patriots fans, I can't even imagine how your family and loved ones are doing right now.
Rest In Peace Marquise.

Wow i didn't realize he was found so close to shore. (although from that pic it still may be a decent way out) From my understanding the woman was found on a pylon of the causway (blue line) so he must have drifted a long way. Am i wrong?

Prayers and condolences to M.H.'s family and friends.:(

Rip Mr Hill. God Please Be With His Family At This Time.

Just heard about this. That's terrible. RIP.

My condolences to the Hill family..............Marquise Hill........R.I.P.

The lady was found on a pylon about one block from where he was found. They were both less than 4 blocks from the shore. When you look at that map, the Causeway is about 12 miles to the West, so, no, neither were anywhere near the Causeway.
