Maybe its time to embrace the role

I would rather embrace the role of Copernicus. Goodell thinks the NFL revolves around him but in reality it revolves around us. The Patsfans. :D

Its so stupid...I shred everything I have related to my youth football team. They're 11, and I worry about opponents finding stuff. Am I just that smart, or are these professional coaches just that stupid? Hell, I sent a kid home before a scrimmage because he's a freak (andnhe wasn't feeling well anyway) and I didn't want the team we were scrimmaging to see him since we play them week 2. I also told the OC to only run plays 1-5 and the D to be vanilla AF. I yelled out random nonsense on the sideline, hoping the other coaches thought I was calling assignments.

Maybe I'm the crazy one. But to think that no one is matching signals, or scouting, or going to take notes about what they see...its just naïve.

Embrace the Hate
God I hate that phrase. I wish it would go away forever. Indulging negativity has no positive outcome. I just don't see how this sentiment of intentionally playing "bad guy/cheater" accomplishes anything.

Because it's just a sport you're watching for entertainment.

Right. Who in their right mind wants to "embrace hate" as part of a pastime? I get enough stress and conflict in my everyday existence without piling more of it on after hours. o_O

Agreed. I try not to get too emotionally invested in the whole football thing outside the games. It's entertaining to follow the team closely, but I don't see the point in getting too riled up about it once the game is over. Not like the NFL is on a personal crusade against me, Random Patriots Fan #57285.

I like the part where opposing teams jump through hoops to ward against threats that aren't there.

But I don't know what else there is to like about the mess.

We do NOT cheat. We compete at a higher level than others. Never forget that, I know I won't.

I disagree. We're talking about Patriots football, not WWE. It's as much of a choice of lifestyle as it is a source of entertainment. And while football is supposed to be a form of escapism, it's become much more important than that for Pats fans, who have spent the entire offseason rallying together to defend their team.

So no, I'd rather not embrace the hate, because Tom Brady has done nothing to deserve it.

The players and coaches are going to embrace the hate. I've been embracing it for a decade. It's fun. It's like this every day:

Watching fans of other teams fall all over themselves trying to explain why their teams suck, and they don't win - to the point now of tinfoil hat conspiracies, rather than inept ownership, mediocre coaching and terrible, backward-thinking management - is not only funny as ****, but pretty damned comforting as it's more likely that this trend will continue.

"It couldn't possibly be our fault we lose, let's keep all the same ****ty people here!"

I love it. Embrace it. It's hysterical. It's like listening to Felger and Mazz pretend to be lawyers.

I've already embraced the hate.

You have to ask yourself this. What Jet fan would NOT put up with all this deflate, camera gate crap if it meant they had 4 championships. Answer...zero.

YESSS THANK YOU

I am not going to embrace a terrible reputation that we did nothing to earn!

But we aren't embracing the lies. We're embracing the hate.Willie.png

Brady has pretty much crushed the dreams of all but one team in the NFL. I think there are plenty of fans who might hate him.

Football is supposed to be a sport, not a source of trumped up entertainment like wrestling. Football is supposed to be about the competition on the field.

Zero is also the average IQ of a Jest fan.

I still look at all of the crying the same as I would if someone accused me of cheating on my wife and I hadn't done anything wrong. Who cares what they think?

The worst thing you can do is try to reason with the agenda driven mouth breathers. I used to drive Jets fans crazy when they started using asterisks on everything Patriot related. They lost their mind when I embraced them as "Asterisks of Excellence" and repeatedly posted I was hoping the Pats would soon get a 4th Asterisk against Seattle.

Crybaby tears of the weak and mediocre are salty goodness.

I'm not so naive to believe that the Patriots like any other team for decades have tried to gain intelligence on their opponents. Like another poster said "there is a reason they have signs" otherwise you would just yell out the play.

The difference is that even with all of this gamesmanship most other teams don't have our incredible winning record. So if they do it (and they do) and don't win and we do it and win, the only logical explanation is that we win because we are better prepared and have better coaching.

Case closed!

Yum. Yum. Yum.

I don't know what some fans expect, especially when we can clearly see the barrage of negativity being heaped on the team by the mediots and the NYJFL. Some of these other fans aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Finally someone put the whole thing to rest and we can get back to football. ;)

The yankess were hated

The Canadians were hated

The Celtics were hated

and now the Patriots are hated.

The reason all thes teams were hated is because they were so good. You should be glad the pats are hated it means they're Really friken great. Yankees great Canadians great and Celtics great. Embrace the hate doesn't mean dwell on what the nit wit fans from other teams and the sports writers. The reason all this is happening is because other teams and they're owners hate the pats because they're so good. I hated Shula and the fins most of my adult life because they were so good and we could hardly ever beat them. And when we did it was like our own little SB victory. The only team i hate thats bad are the green rodents.
