Seau's Daughter's HOF Speech

How on earth did they not let her give that speech?

It was powerful, heartfelt, touching but was nothing that could have been construed as anti-NFL.

Forever shame on the NFL for not allowing this fine young lady to honor her father with this wonderful and heartfelt speech. She deserved to be on that stage. The world lost a chance to see the man behind the face mask in the way he wanted to be shown at the Hall. RIP and much respect to Mr. Seau.

Not to defend the NFL but it was the HOF that chose to not allow Seau's daughter to give the speech, not the NFL.

I am sure that the NFL had some influence on the decision.

What a fantastic speech ! I was choked up reading that.

she should of spoken for a longer period of time. tim brown was rambling for at least 30 minutes.
and why was steve wyche holding the microphone?? in case she said something that the league didnt like it, it was his job to " pull the plug "...
fine speech regardless!

do you all have subscription to the NY Times? It says I have to login.

That holding the microphone thing sounds pathetic.

And the Wells report was independent. I don't really trust the NFL when they say that something that they could have had their hands in is independent. Because they have shown that "independent" for them isn't what it is for the rest of the world.

Sydney, you did your father PROUD.

The NFL has lost its way. They NEEDED to allow her to deliver that.

Steve Wyche held the mic? Very peculiar.

Lol, yes, and it was Troy Vincent who doled out Brady's sanctions not Gödel. It's no coincidence that the HOF stopped allowing family members to give entrance speeches the same year the players filled the concussion lawsuit. The NFL dictates to the HOF, not the other way around.

You shouldn't have to, unless you've been reading it a lot lately, in which case just clear your cache.

Ironically, she's getting 1000X the audience through the NYT than she would have in Canton.

Once again, the NFL continues to make me question why I spend my hard earned money on them.

The NFL/Hall of Fame was in a tough spot and I think the compromise (allowing her to give her speech in the guise of an onstage interview with Wyche) was somewhat reasonable. She did a great job. Her father must be proud.
