Greg A. Bedard @GregABedard
Was told by a high-ranking NFL source that Kraft's decision to stand down does not include a deal on Brady. Surprising to me.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Robert "The Bruce" Kraft betrayed us today... and I'm shocked beyond words

What in the actual....

How stupid (senile?) do you have to be to agree to such a one-sided, short-sighted deal?

Not surprised, but it was a final breath of hope that it wasn't 100% catastrophic. Now it is.

And if it did I wouldn't give a ****.

Kraft could be saving mankind from a world war with what he did today and it wouldn't change my mind with what he did.

He's not some unsung hero, he's a fraud and a liar.

bad news...

how is brady going to get the suspension reduced at this point?
tom should fight regardless since his jellyfish owner gave up. all of that talk/outrage for nothing..

kraft is a coward.

Knock out punch to Fans and his own players/coaches

wow

That's good news....I want this in court.

I don't think there's anything to read into this. If there's anything we've learned the last few weeks, it's that the NFL will say what's convenient for them, and at this point there's no benefit to conceding Brady's appeal.

I ask all the Pats fans to stop going to the game, stop buying the jerseys, don't spend another penny on Patriots as a protest of Kraft's statement.

"Goodell-Kraft attended Sean McManus’ 60th birthday Sat in NYC; they were spotted “on a couch, talking by themselves for quite a long time."

Riveting stuff...

at 37, why should Brady care? he should just make his last game a superbowl win. just pack it in.....move away.......

Although i'd assume any person privy to what went on would be telling people this. Don't want the masses to make it look like herr goodell compromised when they had all that "evidence" against them, gotta make it look like it he took pity on Brady.

But IMO it is probably right, goodell was probably always gonna reduce it a game or two that's why Brady was given 4. Now we just gotta hope Brady decides to fight on.

I've said it elsewhere but Brady's process is entirely separate from Kraft's, he's a union member and Kraft is a league owner, they're beholden (and protected) under very different league bylaws.

Brady's case can still see its day in court if the NFLPA isn't happy with Goodell's ruling on appeal. And it may still go a long way to exonerating him and the Patriots from wrongdoing. What Kraft just did, however, is publicly bend over backward and capitulate to the 31 other owners and the league. There was no reason for him to spinelessly back down like this, other than I'm sure the other owners didn't want this hanging over all their heads.

Screw him...Brady can still kick ass on his own but this was a pathetic, spineless response from Kraft.

Why would it these are two separate penalties.

Bedard admits that his source may not want to admit a quid pro quo with Kraft and Goodell that Kraft fell on his sword to save Brady. He is waiting until Brady's thing plays out before passing judgement.

Here is his response to someone pointing out that the league would never admit to Goodell making a deal with Kraft for Brady:

I don't disagree, which is why, personally, I want to see how this ultimately plays out. Just passing info along

I guess it's up to Brady alone to protect his legacy. Hope he takes it to court, the Wells Report and NFL's actions are expose, and it makes Kraft look even more foolish.

What Kraft got out of it was not rocking the boat and not setting a precedent of challenging the commissioner's authority. He's thinking as a part-owner of the league, and if his team, fanbase, coach and QB are a casualty in thinking that way, then oh well. The only thing he gives a **** about is how much money he can print and how reliably he can print it going forward. **** him.

If he has even a shred of integrity left, he'll never claim to be a longtime fan again, because he clearly isn't a fan. He's a businessman looking to protect his economic interests, full stop.
