Well, screw it. I admit I'm a big Kraft fan. Even when I disagree with him, I like the guy. He's a helluva businessman and doesn't need to brag about it.

I find it interesting that most people ignore the biggest business miracle that Bob Kraft pulled off, and it's not this 15 year run with the Pats. He turned that "outdoor mall" in the middle of no where into a thriving and productive business center. Now THAT was a miracle.

I'm no longer someone who "goes out" much, but whenever I'm coming down Rte 1, its hard not to notice that "Patriot Place" is jumping.

I'd be interested to see what the failure rate is there, and compare it to other similar shopping/commercial areas. The most surprising stat that I ever heard coming out of Patriot Place, was the 80+% occupancy rate for the Hotel there....and that's NOT a cheap hotel. And I'm told its close to 100% from August to January.

Bob Kraft turned a bad college stadium that he was left with from the Sullivan debacle, in a backwater of a town, and turned it into a "go to" destination year round. And after he paid back the state for the road improvements on Rt 1, it hasn't cost the tax payers a nickel. In fact between the sales tax revenues, stat income tax revenues, and job opportunities he created, the tax payers are MILLIONS ahead.

Have to disagree, the biggest miracle Kraft pulled off was taking the Patriots from perennial also ran to the
Best run franchise in professional sports.

I've posted this before but I'm a geezer and can't help myself.
Was at Smithfield after Canty was drafted. You could get right up just about next to the players on the sideline at times. I was 5' 9" + 185. I was bigger than chicken legged Canty. Worse yet he was standing next to Law. You cannot believe how ripped & muscular 5' 11" + Ty was. The contrast was incredible. How a team that drafted Law could draft that moronic midget, I'll never know.

Sunday Sunday Sunday... On pay per view... Maroney vs. Canty.....

I'd argue that Dan Snyder, who still prints money hand over foot, is doing just fine. Even if his team is terrible and he's objectively a horrible human being.

I guess you can say about Kraft that he has managed to not screw up having Brady and Belichick for 15 years, which is something.

Snyder is hated and ridiculed by the fans of the team he owns. And the team he owns sucks, primarily because of what he has done to it consistently over the years. If that's your idea of doing fine I am happy to disagree.

Still, my point in citing Snyder was not whether or not the owner is doing fine, but rather to refute an earlier post that the owner does not matter, it's about the team not the owner. The team culture starts with the owner, as Snyder shows a sucky owner creates a sucky team, just as Kraft shows that a great owner creates a great team. Point is, we really should appreciate what he has done for us by creating one of the greatest NFL dynasties of all time. After this fourth Super Bowl win there can be no doubt that "dynasty" is the right label.

kraft has stated many times the only reason he bought the team was because there was a salary cap. he was not interested in getting into a league with unlimited spending on players. thankfully he hired a coach who knows more about the ins and outs of that cap than anybody else. time has shown he knows what he is doing and i am grateful for it......

Whenever I get to thinking about the Pats internal operation now, I wonder how much of it can be attributed to Ernie Adams. He doesn't seem to get credit for anything but could have his hand in everything.

The one thing I'm most thankful for is what a pleasant experience it is to go to a game now. The old stadium was a cesspool, both literally and figuratively.

I've seen the quote many times in many places over the years. Haven't yet been able to come up with a link to where he says it about his purchase of NE (but I have seen the quote multiple times), but there are lots of links to where he said he wouldn't purchase Liverpool because there is no salary cap in that league.

The glorification of capital and denigration of the worker and worker's solidarity is nothing new. It's all ideology, man! ;)
And the people who do this--and they are many--should be on the side of the workers, but they aren't. They root against their own best interests.

'Most' don't knock him for being cheap. Idiots knock him for being cheap. The rest of us bloody well appreciate what we've got in him.
Weren't Bruins fans pleading with him to buy their team not long ago?
