Manish Mehta published the Jets' offer to Revis on Monday before Revis was released

We should tweet this story a bunch of times to a few reporters. Goodell doesn't give a **** until the media outrages. Curran and Reiss need to push this.

Feel free to get over it. Their first is the only just sanction.

Swapping firsts is a sanction that has precedence in this instance as well. If Goodell wants to be fair, that's what has to happen. Don't hold your breath, though. I have a better chance of farting out a lightning bolt than the Patriots have of swapping 1sts with the Jets.

I'm always taking a look on boards of different fan bases and I feel that everyone consider Kraft one of the strongest owners. Let's see if the other owners will support him on this one, Goddel is on the hot seat, if they start pressuring him against the wall he will have to do something.

I just think the other owners are also full of ****, no one cares about the integrity of the game just their own interest and the Patriots are the most dominant team in football so giving the Pats the #6 overall? No thanks.

We will get lucky if we get something out of this. I want Goodell to get in the same elevator with a drunk and cheated Ray Rice.

Curran and Reiss need to push this.

Curran has been on top of this for a while. He's been calling out the stupid hypocrisy unlike anybody else, and had a good article on the subject several days ago.

Too many people covering the NFL right now are akin to the baseball writers who turned the other cheek when the MLB turned into a 'roid invested mess. Whether its player safety, or domestic violence, or the league office being a bunch of stupid idiots, most of the mediots are just happy to cash their checks and pretend there's nothing amiss.

Glad at least we have Curran calling out people's BS. Reiss & Bedard have been fairly vocal, too.

This looks to be a pretty decent smoking gun for tampering. What Mehta published 24 hours before Revis was released is what he signed for. The Jets cannot tell the media their bargaining numbers even off the record.

The smoking gun would be proof that the Jets fed Mehta info, without that there's absolutely nothing. The numbers don't even match exactly. Anyone could've guessed at that.

The Patriots would now like to call Mr Manish Mehta to the stand.

Don't anybody hold their breath waiting for goodelll to do something.

The only thing in the Pats future regarding Revis is the 2015 $5 million dead money cap hit. Jets owner will be fined and reprimanded at worst. If you do get a pick, it will be a 6th or 7th, but the Pats will likely get nothing.

While I agree with you about the lack of punishment, it should be noted that the 5m dollar dead money hit was because they only paid him 7m dollars last year, so that was expected the entire time.

lol 6th or 7th.

See: Lance Briggs tampering

49ers lost a 5th round and had to swap 3rd round picks with the Bears.

Precedent is set. woody johnson was already warned a year ago about tampering.

"Ignorance is not an excuse"

If Jetdell decides to be impartial on this, jests can kiss their 4th round pick goodbye seeing is how they don't have a 5th or a 6th and will be swaping at minimum a 3rd round pick.

Oh and the kicker to the Lance Briggs thing is he stayed with the Bears.

I'm just chalking it,up as another whacky coincidence. I just hope the league doesn't come down too hard on them.

On them??? At this point, I'm expecting Goodell to dock us a draft pick for filing a report and interfering with Woody's true love. The Commish loves him some woody.

It was definitely tampering, and the Patriots will get something for it. Not sure there has ever been tampering with a player of this caliber, so the punishment against the Jets could be substantial. Pats Pulpit has an article discussing the Jets being forced to trade #1's with the Patriots. We will find out.

I don't think tampering is a big deal as most (not that it isn't a big deal, but everyone does it) and I think the league looks the other way, but if the League does find that they tampered with Revis over the weekend after his stupid comments a few months ago, it does become a bigger deal. It becomes a pattern of tampering with the same player over time. Much different that just one incident of foot in mouth syndrome.

Tampering was a big deal in 1997 when the Patriots received four draft picks from the Jets for tampering with Bill Parcells. This may not be as egregious, but it sure is as blatant, documented and led by the owner. It is almost as if Woody Johnson said, "I don't care what it costs. I want Revis."

Between Deflatefgate and this tampering charge involving the league's top cornerback, Goodell has a lot to announce and deal with before the draft regarding the NFL's marquee franchise, the New England Patriots.

That article was a week before ... not a day before ... even worse.

Anyone could have guessed the exact same structure of the deal the day before they signed, him to it? And coincidentally they had just leaked the fact that jets were having you level internal discussions about that structure as well.

It is a clear cut case, but I'm not seeing the big deal. Does anyone really believe that Revis' agent wouldn't have had just as much information had NY handled things more quietly? It almost certainly had no tangible impact on how things played out.

If anything, Johnson's zeal may end up getting NE a free draft pick for a player they would have lost anyway. I can live with that.

I kinda wonder if Revis was feeding the Pats' offer to the Jets. The way the Jets structured their deal was very straightforward while the Pats was very nuanced in how it was paid out. That takes time to process and structure correctly to beat. Its not like ordering a meal.

At 4:01 did Revis send the Pats offer to the NYJ and at 4:02 the NYJ beat it and Revis- from Miami teleported to NJ for 4:40pm? Talk about not negotiating in good faith. Sheesh.

I call BS. I want more than a 4th.

BINGO! The man has BINGO!

If reports are true he was also feeding them, the offers the Patriots never made as well. Good for you Darrelle, how to get the idiot Johnson to bid against the idiot Johnson.

This may be minor, but I think back to Woody Johnson calling Bob Kraft to apologize about his tampering.

Just what was the purpose of the call? It certainly wasn't to say that he didn't mean anything by it, because he certainly didn't back off in his pursuit of Revis, which appear to be less like tampering and more like stalking.

Was this call an attempt to make his comments appear to the league to have been an innocent slip of the tongue? His subsequent actions belie that.
