If so, why isn't that bid listed on his auction? Interesting how the ball has the letter "K" stenciled on it twice, apparently designating it for the kicking game. I'm wondering what that squiggly black line is near the nose in one photo, looks like it was from a magic marker. He's already got a bid of $25k it appears. You'd think Flutie would want the thing.

That line on the nose is made before the game by the refs.

I got that from watching Totally Patriots

What does it mean?

I know $25,0000 is a lot, but it would be awesome if all the users here could pool and donate the ball to patsfans.com. It could then be given to Flutie as a thanks.

That it's a official-inspected game football, I think.

This doesn't make sense. The whole thing was that the refs didn't think (no one did) that they were kicking the extra point---hence the reason they didn't put up the net and that knucklehead got the ball. If they didn't bother to put up the net, why would they bother to switch the ball?

Just wondering!

They probably switch in the kicking ball on every P.A.T. Just my guess. The nets are controlled by stadium workers, who didn't see Vinatieri out there.

Gee I'd like to tell this guy what I think of him.

Too bad there's no way to tell where his seats at the stadium are

Lance apparently is greedy AND dumb. (Wait til he finds out what portion Ebay takes of his profiT!)

I think I'm going to create a new Ebay account, put in a winning bid and then stiff him.

Looking at the picture, I have to assume he would not be dumb enough to put his own ticket next to the ball now would he? Sec 142 row 2 seat 5??

My question is how does anyone know this is the ball? No one from the Pats or NFL has authenticated it. The Pats called this guy after looking at film but I never heard them say that this is the exact ball. Maybe he is the guy that caught the real ball, no real proof that he was, but how do we know the guy didn't go to a sporting goods store, buy a Wilson Official and mark it up himself, sell the fake while keeping the real thing. Guys here know what the lines and symbols mean so he could just as easily have faked them. If someone bid 350K then they are in desperate need of finding a charity to sponsor.

If its the real thing, good luck to him. I hope he finds somebody with more money than sense to pay $350,000 for a Football.

Well one thing would be not alot of "k" balls would make it into the stands....

.... Unless it's a playoff game and Vanderjagt is kicking!

All the game balls are marked with an invisible ink that can only be viewed with a special light. If it wasn't the "real deal", the krafts would have already had a campain underway discrediting the guy.

nicely said!

Interestingly though, there's some talk of letting Adam V. go into free agency (not seriously I hope) and I'm pretty sure the Colts are going to let Vanderjerk walk

If that's the case you could see the Colts make a bid for Adam - and I suppose Vanderjerk would be considered by the Pats (not seriously I hope)
