2/17 Rumor: Pats' locker room attendant tried to put unapproved kicking ball in AFCCG

I wonder what this would mean..

Who cares. What does this have to do with the apparently *slightly* underinflated footballs?

I can't imagine this being at all relevant. Also, aren't the k-balls the responsibility of the NFL? Would this ball (no pun intended) not be in their court?

The story has little context. Was it intentional?

LOL they are just guessing by looking at the beginning of the 3rd quarter of that game. That is what the delay was about. They even talked about it on the broadcast. The kicking balls are a totally different color. we all could see that.

Oy Vey, here we go again.....

Hate to be the bearer of bad football chicanery news, but here goes:

SportsCenter reported that a Patriots locker-room attendant tried to put an unapproved kicking ball into the AFC Championship game, per sources close to the investigation.

As I said in the other thread. We all saw this at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. The BBoy was most likely confused by the lack of balls due to them being taken and just grabbed the closet one to not delay the game.

well then the joke is on ESPN cause its harder to hold on to and throw a K ball and the refs would see the dame K on the ball

The k-balls are the responsibility of the league throughout the entire pre-game process. The locker-room attendant never handles the footballs at any time prior to the game. They could not have been altered (save for on the sideline), and I find it impossible to imagine that Brady (or anyone else) would want a slicker, harder football while playing in cold, wet conditions. It makes zero sense.

I'd guess it was a screwup and that he simply picked up the wrong football. Regardless, the NFL would have to prove that he intentionally handed the official a k-ball with the intent to somehow compromise the integrity of the game. That's not going to happen.

It would seem the official did his job and rejected the football.

Next rumor, please.

One source said Kensil personally checked each of the PSI (pounds per square inch) levels of the 12 footballs the Patriots had for use on offense and that 11 of those 12 were under-inflated by "one to two pounds."

So the only person who has actually stuck a needle in a ball to tamper is Kensil. And now supposedly they took his word on pressure?

What would happen if BB was sticking needles in Colts footballs? I'm going to guess it wouldn't result in an investigation into Andrew Luck.

So, the Goodell ship has sprung leaks again?

They released the guys name. You make a million dollars to play and whatever, comes with the job, you can pay security. But IMO if you're going to run some low level nobody through the mud on national TV you best have more than a hunch. **** sakes, reporters are already at his house.

Kraft needs to find a way to unf*** this clown show. This guy doesn't get paid to have him and his family harassed by the national media.

Pretty much. Were the game balls still being "inspected" so the guy just grabbed the first available ball?

I think this and all other Ballghazi related problems are easily explained by the fact that someone out there, probably Belichick, is a witch. Someone get a duck and lets test this

So now we're supposedly cheating with K-Balls that are usually inflated more than usual. So, please explain to me how this makes any sense in regards to 'Brady is cheating and using deflated balls'. Does he like it deflated or inflated? This report is a direct contradiction to deflategate.

This whole thing is a joke to begin with. It shows you how incompetent the nfl is. Why not just have a damn nfl employee moniter the effing footballs instead of the teams? You know why? Because they never gave a s*** about this rule until they tried to frame the patriots with it. If the air of footballs was so important they wouldnt be so non chalant with them.
