Mod Edit: Seahawks Fan Here To Make Pathetic Excuses For His Team

And they did. Ugh.

I wish I was a believer in moral victories but I don't. History is written by the victors. One stupid decision, a little luck, and we'll have to endure years of Patriot fan gloating. This is particularly bitter for me because I lived in Cleveland and was a huge Browns fan as a kid when they lost to Denver in the '88 AFC Championship Game because of "the fumble." They were the better team and Denver proved it by going to the Superbowl and getting their asses kicked by Washington. At least with the "fumble" it was a reasonable football play that just went wrong. Yesterday was a dumb football play that cost Seattle the Superbowl. Ouch.

I can think of a lot of coulda shoulda's. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't in its weakest condition since early season. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't further weakened when they lost last year's Superbowl MVP in the first quarter to injury. I wish our starting defensive end didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...followed by two touchdown drives by the Patriots. I wish our coach called for a run instead of a pass. Any one of those would have probably made the difference in the game.

It's definitely hard to swallow. The Seahawks held the Patriots to 57 yards rushing. The Seahawks rushed for 162 yards. They intercepted Brady twice. As I predicted yesterday, the Seahawks were the tougher team. On any normal day the Seahawks win with those numbers.

But they weren't the smarter team...at least in the last meaningful play of the game.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to really congratulate the Patriots. I admire the hell out of Brady for leading the Patriots comeback in the 4th quarter against Seattle's depleted defense. I admire what's his name who made the interception to win the game...nice defensive play on an historically stupid offensive play. I admire the Patriots secondary shutting down Seattle's middling receivers for about half the game. I admire Belichick for being an ornery *******. But overall I say, lucky win but still counts.

See you next year and hope the results are what they should have been yesterday--the best team winning the game.

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)

52 dislikes has to be some sort of record.

Seriously? Another poster put it perfectly.. GFY!!!!

-Kind of defeats the purpose of coming back if you are going to make a bunch of whiney excuses. We had our defensive captain (mayo) and starting RB (Ridley) on IR, Hightower had a torn labrum, and edelman was more banged up than anyone on the seagulls -- don't give us the 'injury' excuse.

-Brady put up 28 on your D, even with two interceptions...

-I don't subscribe to the "awful play call" B.S -- Butler made an unbelievable play on the ball..plus you were only on goal line b/c of one of the luckiest catches in NFL history.

P.S - It will be fun to see how good Seattle really is after having to pay Russell Wilson/Marshawn Lynch/KC/Sherman/Thomas --- you will see how tough it is to consistently be @ top of league in salary cap era.

You guys realize this yahoo is like 95% of Seattle fans...just jumped on the bandwagon i am guessing 3 years ago.

He prolly had no idea who Kenny Easley was yesterday.

He states he was a diehard Browns fan from Cleveland...any you folks know people who moved from Cleveland that jumped ship on the Browns?

Only losers and bandwagon jumpers

So Brady shredded the supposed "best defense in football" but yet we were lucky??? LOL

I hate Seahawks fans. Enjoy your championship last year, cuz we are celebrating #4!!!!

god seattle fans are horrid

Nice tweak at the end ;). We'll see how the Seahawks fare in the next few years. Success for a team creates inherent disadvantages:
  • Picking at the bottom of the draft every year
  • players become expensive (go from cheap rookie contracts to pricey veteran contracts)
  • Other teams poach Coaches and scouting personnel
  • More success means more attention from opponents
The 'Hawks headcoach has fared well hence far, but the true test is in longevity. Selecting at the bottom of the draft year-in-and-year-out debilitates the generational talent pool. Players like Russell Wilson who are gentle to the capspace will true-up to their approximate fair value--the same goes for other coveted value-players on rookie deals. Coaches and scounting personnel require replacement. And lastly, the team earns a target on its back. Opposing teams play with more ardour and prepare over longer hours to topple the giant. It's the counterbalance to success.

One of the few benefits is that free agents may favor your team, given their choice of suitors.

The Seattle Seahawks probably had the more talented team--but having more talent isn't sustainable. BB usually does not field the more talented team, but he wins in spite of the disadvantage (in the biggest games). We can't count how many more talented teams BB has faced and defeated. For his greatest accomplishment, refer to the 2006 season's divisional playoff round against the Chargers (not w/o some luck).

I agree here. Everything I've seen out of Wilson (which admittedly isn't much) has been classy, thoughtful, and reasonable. It will be very interesting to see what he does with the contract negotiations.
Ever read his twitter? This guy literally thinks it is his destiny from god to be a special/great quarterback. I hope he never sniffs another Super Bowl again.

I don't see this as an issue. In year one, Tom Brady told Kraft that he was the best decision the team ever made.

Well...I will say this....based on this guy..the Seahawks and their fans are in lockstep with regards to attention whoring.

Guys don't give this tool any more attention. It's trolling with a title insinuating something other than what the post is.

The truth is there is now a blueprint to beat the Seahawks. Green Bay can very easily do it going forward...as could Dallas..and few other NFC Teams.

I hope you enjoyed your team's short shelf life ya tool.

Don't come back.

What a doucher post. The Patriots lost the turnover battle against the best defense in the league and still won the game. "Better team" my ass.

The irony, the delicious irony, of a Seattle fan whining about luck when you were a. damn lucky to be in a position to score after the flukiest fluke play in the history of fluke plays b. lucky to be in the game because of a few long bomb prayers because you were so thoroughly outplayed in the first half and c. lucky to even be in the SB at all because of a GB meltdown for the ages.

Butler's INT? Not luck. Just a great defensive play. He jumped the route and made the play because he was prepared for it. There was no freak bounce, no helmet catch, no catch while LYING ON THE GROUND.

Yeah, you know ALL about luck. Hypocrite.

And they did. Ugh.

Dude dont u dare writing about luck. Seahawks are the luckiest team past 3 years. Some throws by Wilson are like Flacco bombs and WR is always manage to catch them. some passes are good but some are just like 2pt conv againts Packers.
Rg3 went down after 10 games, wilson always somehow manage to get uninjured. I dont wanna to get him injurede just saying.
PAst 3 years they havent multiple major injuries to main players.
Pats weree playing SB against Giants with 11 diff players in secondary!!! and last year almost all major players went on IR.
So one CB Lane is nothing. i agree without Lane and especially AVril it was easier, but don u tell me bout luck.

I'm happy to believe that this post isn't representative of Seahawks fans.

Trolls the internet-wide love taking one "bad" Boston/New England fan and saying "perfect example of how terrible all their fans are, they don't deserve BB and Brady," etc. so I choose to believe this guy just has a hyperinflated sense of just how magnanimous he is for "coming back" here, laden with excuses for his so called "better team." The dozens of posts jumping down this guy's throat (including my own) are simply responding to how easily he teed it up for us.

If a real S-hawk fan came here and said "I'm devastated. Good game. Congrats. Hopefully we get revenge next year." I think a vast majority of the fans here would have said "Good game, totally understand how you feel, since we've been there too."

I think people here have covered everything already, so I'll just add that Seattle was an even bigger loser than Katy Perry last night.

You and I are just gettting old. Her "show" was spectacular in a kind of friendly family sort of way, that most current recording personalities don't do with their mysogynistic, scatological lyrics.

Harmless fluff and entertaining as spectacle, I guess.
