Someone asked this question

and I give actual testimony by real players that played in the NFL that it gave an advantage

and that person still can't put 1 and 1 together

don't know what more I could do.
The bottom line is that right now all we have is some underinflated balls that were not underinflated when the game started. That doesn't prove anyone intentionally let air out in them nor does it prove that Belichick or anyone in the Patriots organization had anything to do with it. Nothing else matters.

so naive. media will beat this sh!t to death because it drives rating. you can't blame media pundits. controversy sells.

blame the organization for letting this happen fault or no fault.

exactly. To put the team image in jeopardy after Spygate just demonstrates his hubris, we sow what we reaped

11 out of 12 of OUR footballs were deflated, none of colts footballs were. Like it or not that just gives the perception of impropriety.

Agree, we allowed ourselves to get set-up for all of this criticism. The Colts complained after the November blow-out. He knew we were under a microscope. Why take the chance?

I'm not saying that it was intentional, even if it was I would still take Belichick to be my coach precisely because he looks for every advantage. I'm just saying acting incredulous and indignant that the media is focusing on this is stupid. We earned the scrutiny.

Yes, we earned it because we're the New York Yankees (without the unlimited spending) of the National Football League, not because we're "known felons," which is what you seem to be promoting.

This is like the media saying that the NFL needs to crack down exceptionally hard on us for this because we have a `track record.` Translation: Because we (the media) over-blew the camera controversy, the NFL needs to overly punish New England because we're over-blowing this one too.

whether you admit it or not spygate happened. there were fines and loss of draft picks. 'cheatriots' are what haters call us. IT HAPPENED. i don't care how badly it was overblown - 1/2 million in fines and loss of draft picks. the league took is seriously.

and now the deflate-gate right before SB.

whether you like it or not we are about to have 2 strikes against us. stop being a homer and think objectively. just think about it. 2 'gate' under 1 regime. if we really are guilty of this then there will be heavy fines maybe even a suspension. and you shouldn't blame media for it. blame brady. brady bb. blame kraft. blame ball boy. but don't blame friggin media. media is media. only thing they love more than controversy is more controversy.

I just want to talk football....not talk about the actual football itself

We should take the trophy and leave. **** Goodell and the reporters. BB does the Lynch trademark celebration on the way out.

This is genius minus the Belichick crotch grab celebration lol

I'm not convinced that Belichick even knew anything about this. "IF" the deflation didn't happen naturally which although it might seem unlikely, is still somewhat possible. I read somewhere that 7 of the Colts balls were also deflated and then I read somewhere else that none of them were. Depending on which one is real will indicate if the Pats truly tampered with the balls. If they did, I think it has Brady's paw prints all over it, not necessarily Belichicks.

If thats true, I don't think Tommy ever imagined the magnitude of what he was doing and I'm still not convinced that there even should be a "magnitude" to any of this. If QB's have the ability to scuff the balls to their specification to get a better grip, is there really a significant difference in letting a little air out to accomplish the same thing? Regardless, the public perception and media/opposing fan driven agendas against our team pretty much leaves us all alone in this.

I have little confidence that Goodell has the wisdom to assess this situation in the proper context. I also fear that Belichick might try to cover for Brady and allow himself to be the fall guy even if he knew nothing about it. In some ways, Coach is like Batman….the tragic hero who's grossly misunderstood by the public (i.e.…when they thought he killed Harvey).

The NFL has always been a league where the envelope gets pushed in certain ways. Its just how it was but in today's media dominated world, every little thing becomes huge. The rule on air pressure in footballs has never been scrutinized like this and in reality it probably serves the league better to allow a little bit of tinkering by all the QBs. Some guys have bigger/smaller hands than others and getting a comfortable grip on the ball is better for the game. I feel bad for Brady…He ****ed up here and there doesn't appear to be any way out of this mess. What should be a misdemeanor offense has grown like wild fire with our enemies demanding our heads and I suspect Goodell will probably give them what they want. At this point, nothing would surprise me. All over a bunch of nonsense but then again….so was spygate.

well, our own local media is ahead in killing its team so hard to point fingers to the nyc media .Just in this forum i see linked articles written by buckly and borges regarding BB. No city media must hate their coach who has done so much for the city this much.

Saying Brady ****'ed up here is at this point wild speculation. If anyone doesn't know anything about it, I would say that it's Brady, but there's other threads to discuss that in.

This thread is for calling out the media spin-masters for their lacking integrity.

He's made the New England Patriots more important than the Boston Red Sawks.

Fatseca saying he knows for a fact that Pats 1st SB victory was because they taped walkthroughs and that reliable sources like Mike Martz and Marshall Faulk told him so. Wow. It's open season. But why oh why did it happen to us...twice!!!! BB should have made sure after the first time and nothing untoward should be going on. Yes - it's a witch hunt. But let's not give them ammunition!

I doubt it's possible to make sure nothing untoward is going on. If every team in the league breaks a half-dozen rules per day, there's really nothing you can do but hope someone doesn't get butthurt enough to put you in the crosshairs.

When Rule say the pressure on the ball should be within this range, at what temperature should the ball pressure be measured? Pressure is directly proportional to the temperature. Possibly, the ball pressure was taken at a higher temperature, and when it was exposed to the cold outside, the pressure dropped. There is an ambiguity in the rule, and a possible loophole here.

Again i say.....I love the taste of Hateraid in the morning, it Tastes like.........Victory

Watch how fast this story begins to change now. Already ESPN talking-head guys are saying on-air, "We jumped to conclusions."

Don't worry, parrots and robots: soon your television master will tell you that this was a bogus scandal perpetrated by shameless hyenas and all will be well.

Well, here we are on Saturday afternoon, learning that SIMPLE EXERCISES IN LOGIC are all one needed to reach a LOGICAL CONCLUSION in the first place.

And way to go Belichick for finally defending us on Crygate on top of it!
