More and more feels like 2007.Over what, a PSI. Just sucks. I hope the game result also turns out like week 2 of 2007.

hope they don't get too distracted with all this stuff, task is on seattle
Hopefully sooner rather than later.

He was nothing short of a ghost when it came to Spygate, so I'll believe it when I see it.

it's unclear what that statement means, what worries me is the last part "his own legacy" hope he doesn't distance himself from the team

Then explain the NFL's official site not reporting any of these new reports (not even reporting them as potential rumors), and only reporting how the likes of Browner and Zimmer claim that this isn't a big deal?? Is that Grasping straws?
Probably because the league and their minion reporters are a little more cautious about waiting for the report than the scoop guys? Really not difficult. Or are you going to tell me that, in other circumstances, you would depend on the NFL Network for your information first?

Besides, the reporters' twitter feeds tell different stories: Breer has been going off on his usual fart circles, for instance.

Cant see how it is not a distraction regardless of what they say..it is definitely a distraction.

I hope you are right BUT rationality hasn't stopped Goodell in the past. Most of the nation feels IMO irrationally that he was soft on the Pats in the past because of destroying the tapes. Now he has an opportunity to prove his manhood after the beating he took in the past year.

Owner support is more important to him and Kraft has a great deal of cache with the most powerful owners, and it was Kraft who went public with his defense of Göodel when he was under the most intense pressure. Regardless of what the haters want Göodell is going to do whats best for him and the league and right now that is to minimize this issue?

You guys have completely ignored how close he is with Goodell lol. Don't forget, MR KRAFT is the one who is cool with teams in London, and the replacement refs, and the bogus lockout, and how Goodell handled all the scandals back in September. He might be the closest owner to Goodell. Don't pretend what Curran said was gray. Go read his damn article.

If Robert Kraft fired Belichick over this crap then he needs sectioning in a mental health unit.

If anyone gets fired, it's some ball kid.

If he fired BB every team would be in line to hire him. Wont happen.
If Kraft fires Belichick, I'll never support the Patriots again. I may never watch the NFL again. I'm dead serious, born and raised twenty five years a Pats fan. I never cared for Kraft whom I believe owes a hell of a lot to Belichick and Brady.

"Loved to be loved" I'm not sure if he'd necessarily be loved for firing Belichick either.

Agreed.

At this point Belichick is as much the face of the Patriots as is Brady. The man is a legend here. If you fire a legend over under-inflated balls when they're in the Super Bowl, you're going to be very far from loved.

Kraft would hurt his legacy with his own fans by firing belechick.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Back your coach up dude and go after the nfl for being hypocrites.

If the Vikings were WARMING balls in plain sight and no one cared then kraft needs to ask why it matters now. Not fire the man who brought him all the success. If he did that he might as well throw all the trophies in the trash cause that's what he'd be saying.

Something about this whole thing is fishy. It isn't about footballs, it's gotta be something deeper.

Agree with Curran completely, the Patriots aren't going to take this sitting down.
I hope you are right. Maybe Ol' get along Bob will finally realize that his fellow owners are not his pals but his competitors who are tired of losing and would like nothing better than destroy his franchise. He should also realize that the man he supported in his time of need Goodell has absolutely no backbone and will gladly sacrifice the Pats to the media mob if it benefits him or his friends in the league (Ravens and Jets).

I think you all underestimate how highly Kraft sees himself within the league itself. Nor is it unprecedented for owners to make shocking moves to preserve their own integrity, or ego, or otherwise.

That makes sense to me too.

But there's the whole ambushing thing.

Unless Belichick and the Patriots were privately warned to stop this practice, Jay Glazer is reporting that it was the League's intention to ambush them/catch them by surprise at half-time (Im putting that in my own words) when a simple warning to desist would have avoided ALL of this.

If so, shame on the League.

And I can't imagine that Belichick would have ignored a warning by the League to stop and then not comply.. again.

Based on context of the conversation, that sounds more like Curran is saying that Kraft could fire Belichick over this.

...... and TFB, what does he do after that? We could lose them both, especially after Brady gets his Fourth Ring in Arizona. I hope Curran is wrong but he may not be.
