The new news is that the Patriots used backup balls in the 2nd half. The articles state that these balls were all within the range unlike the first half balls. But then the leaks go on to contradict themselves by stating that the bellboys spent so much time inflating the balls to make them usable, almost up to the Patriots first series.

The article didn't say that. It said the testing took into the start of the third quarter:

WEEI.com said:
According to the source, the backup balls were tested and found to be at the correct levels, and subsequently put into play — just barely in time, as the second half already had started by the time the testing was completed.

For the Colt's catty whiningness of it all, it sounds to me from reading multiple if subjective sources, that it is extremely difficult to tell the difference between a football inflated to 13 psi and one inflated to 11 psi.

It sounds to me from multiple sources now is that it is extremely difficult to tell the difference between a football infated to 13 psi and one inflated to 11 psi.
Well according to the guys at ESPN, Bettis and Brunell went on a huge thing about how big of a difference it is by trying to give an example by handling each football at different weight.

It is ESPN so I wouldn't put it past them, but are they trying to make it up that there is a huge difference?

So what has happened so far? 12 of 24 balls underinflated, which were supposedly ok at games start. Colts balls ok.....Brady threw properly inflated balls better in heavier rain.

Leaks of info that proves nothing but creates and environment that makes it hard for the league to find the Pats innocent.Irsay is bitter and he got more bitter after the thrashing. Bring me real evidence of how it was done, and then yes penalize them...and I will still love the Pats and BB .

I just dont wanna hear about a player's behavior anymore when it comes to playing for this team.I am disgusted that I have to hear about deflated footballs the whole week rather then brady's legagy if he wins.I just dont like the silence from our side.

At this point they might have to win
the game or they will always be known as cheaters who never won post spygate.I really have a tough time accepting we went back to this crap against a team they have handled very well.

This my two cents. The Patriots will be penalized regardless because the league won't admit that the ref's were incompetent. The only mitigating factor would be that the weather conditions could have caused the change. Keep in mind that this is a godsend for the POS commissioner because he can go easy on his golfing pals in the Ravens management for lying about Rice's actions and access to the tape and the same for his beloved Jets and the tampering issue. He now has his special whipping team to throw to the mob and he will prove his manhood by crucifying the Pats. I am afraid the Ol' Get along Bob is going to crawl into his shell again and let BB twist in the wind over a nothing incident like he did in 2007. Unless I am greatly mistaken, BB will be suspended at least eight games next season and we will lose out first draft pick. The penalties doled out to the Ravens and Jets will be insignificant in comparison.

Well, you are greatly mistaken.

why are you comparing off the field incidents with things that actually affect the play of the game? it's just apples and oranges.

You must be one of those types who assumes the worst case scenario to avoid disappointment, no?

Not being "caught cheating" or anything like that. I don't think they are "cheaters". Hell Aaron Rogers came out and said he likes to try and sneak over inflated ball by officials. If we are punished for this it will be ridiculous.

The dissapointment stems from the fact i should be enjoying this week more than i am due to having to sit and defend my team from idiot other team fans yet again.
Why even bother. It's just not worth it. People and fans (with a lack of intelligence) will continue to bring this and Spygate up for years to come. Even if the Pats win it all, they'll still ***** and moan about "Deflategate." And even if this never even happened, people would make other excuses or say something like "Brady and Belichick are only 1-2 in Super Bowls after Spygate LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I WONDER WHY THEY HAVENT WON MORE? LOLOLOL. WHY DO I TALK ABOUT SPYGATE SO MUCH AND USE LOL SO MANY TIMES? OH YEAH BECAUSE I'M A VIRGIN." Hell, even when we were using different formations against the Ravens, there was an article about it, and people in the comments section kept calling Belichick "Belicheat." When people responded to those comments asking how Bill cheated, they never responded again. People are so f**king illiterate and misinformed that boggles my mind. In the same way that if some jackass is rehashing Spygate, then you respond and say that "taking signals which was LEGAL until 2006 and they sure as hell wouldn't have prevented a miracle helmet catch and rare (at that time) Welker drop." They usually don't even respond to that, and if they do it's something else moronic like "Goodel gave them such a big fine so it must have been the worst thing on the face of the Earth that they did." I've been there with getting defensive and annoyed with people that discredit the Patriots. I'm just kind of done with it; let them be jackasses.

I believe Lacanforna has the same source of info;(but that is speculation on my part)

I spoke to someone who is very familiar with the Pats practice and game-day handling of their game balls -- someone no longer a member of the organization who has no stake in the outcome of this investigation one way or another -- who was adamant that there had never been any sort of protocol about deflating balls in the rain or certain conditions.
"We would practice in the rain, Bill would throw water on dry balls during practice and there was never anything done to deflate them because of it being wet," the former Patriot said. "That doesn't even make any sense. As anal as Tom is about the balls, there's no way he'd let some ball boy or whatever try to deflate it to a certain PSI.
"Tom knows a football, and the way he wants it, like you or I would know a kid. But there was never anything deflating or doctoring balls during a game. He knows how he wants the ball going into a game and he's not going to take any chances of someone else messing around with a ball to get it right. As anal as he is about the way he wants the balls to be, he's not going to able to tell the difference of 1psi or whatever.
"I'm just telling you, that's not how it works. He wants those balls to be right going into the game. But D'Qwell Jackson could tell after he intercepts a ball and is running to the sidelines? It just doesn't add up to me."

NFL delay? Proving it. Or show how it was done.
Simple explanation, balls were stored in a heated up area before measurement.
Globe article says 82 degrees is enough.
No tampering, no deflating, no rule against it.

Well, there are conflicting reports on the D'QWell Jackson thing. Some say he noticed it while others say he just handed it to the equipment manager to keep for him for a souvenir and the equipment manager felt it was too low (and perhaps put a gauge on it himself before telling Pagano and Grigson).

Has anyone here watched Gone Girl? It's a good film to show how can a media outlet overblown a story and cause chaos, even when there's nothing but unknown facts and pieces. This is getting comical proportions, even in Brazil they are talking about this (ESPN Brazil, TBH)

Disagree completely. I don't think the Patriots will sit still for anything more than a marginal fine and a warning. I think the reason they are staying quiet this time is that they are actually defending themselves and the NFL is going to have a real problem trying to go hard on them without really hard evidence, which they don't have.

How about bill being held accountable if he knew? I like bill but this is about as dumb as it gets.Doesnt kraft deserve to protect the image of his franchise?BB has won alot of games but I am sick of the controversy that comes along.

To all of you disagreeing with me, I truly hope you are right and I am wrong about what will happen. I know the POS commissioner has the backbone of tissue paper and will respond to the media mob which is calling for blood. He has demonstrated that he will punish minor infractions to an extraordinary degree if he chooses. Based on his prior actions, I have no reason to believe that Kraft won't let it happen.
