I suspect that they were keeping the balls warm pre-game (like the Vikings and Bengals were during the game). Easy to wind up with a 30 degree difference that way.
When and where was the weighing done by this investigation team ? 2 days after in different weather is the same as on gameday ?

This is an important point. It was 50-ish at KO. What was the temp when they checked them?

Who gives a goddam crap what the ball weighed? I just heard Callahan call this a "crime". A "crime"? Really?

Welcome to the Madden Play Station generation. You no longer man up on a football field. If you loose you blame it on something else other than looking in the mirror and admitting the other team was better that day.

Ball pressure. Cameras. Cleat length. Anything other than showing the ability to man-up and admit you got beat. Blame it on everything else other than looking inward. Welcome to your knew ****ified society.

It's not my fault, I no longer have male genetalia. Callahan just called it a "crime". Really? Fire BB and send him to jail because of a "ball pressure issue". Sounds reasonable to me.

Yes but you know they will make him take the fall. They themselves set the precedent with Sean Payton and then with lesser punishment with Ray Rice. And we all know how much the commissioner loves BB. If someone from the pats acknowledges this happened intentionally even without BB's knowledge the he will take the fall.
Same thing happened in USC with kiffin. He said the student manager acted on his own but the team was punished. In this case its always going to come to BB unfortunately.

The important point is they were playin a FOOTBALL GAME! How much does this GAME need to be micro-managed?

What's happened to the spirit of playing football? Do we need to be checking ball pressure and camera placement every time we want to chuck the rock around in our backyard with our 10 year old? WTF are we teaching our kids?

It's only a crime because it's the Pats, and I love it.....

Idiot man Kravitz was on 98.5 this morning and basically said that Belichick should be at a minimum suspended from the SB......and if Bob Kraft is any kind of man, he would fire him.

Then when it was brought to his attention that both Rodgers and Manning doctor the balls regularly, that it was a deflection and that the coaches didn't necessarily know.

Would it not be possible that BB didn't know and that this is done at the request of Brady? I know how things operate in Foxboro, but if there's one player who can act in a vacuum, it's Brady.

I want this story to go on.......I want this story to go on so that it creates anger across the entire roster. The Seahawks against a very pissed off Pats team will truly make for outstanding entertainment.

Otherwise, I don't even see a problem

Voices calling for BB's head and at the very least SB suspension are only going to increase.

I'm sure my sentiments have been echoed a thousand times on this thread, but why do the Pats consistently need to walk that fine line between legal and illegal and be involved in controvery? We have the headset communication issue vs Jacksonville in the playoffs, spygate, the "questionable" kick block formation vs nyj, and now this "deflategate" - not to mention aaron hernandez, and i'm sure I'm missing some others.
Why is Kraft silent on every issue? The team I love is being dragged through the mud - again - and now everyone questions every win this team has had over the last 14 years. When Belichick did typical monotone "we're cooperating with the league" crap post game i knew something was up and he or someone on the team got caught.

I think that's great.......there's not much that can poke this tiger, but this is one of them

The only "crime" that has been committed is the NFL for making this an issue. The only team to be scrutinized this closely is us. Ball pressure issues should include firings, suspensions and jail time?

This is insane.

Sure ,but I fear the league is going to overreact and punish harshly with suspensions because they want to show they are serious about wife beaters and ball weighers.

Yes.... Please piss off this whole team even more... I love it!

Meh, when the time comes, Brady will stand up and say 'I had this done.....coach doesn't throw the ball, I do. I'm no different than any of the other QB's who have their equiment mgrs alter the balls prior to the game.

I don't know.........if the refs didn't notice it the entire game, what are we really talking about here?

right now, they can't pin it on the coach, because they don't know.....push comes to shove, Brady will just say 'I had it done.........many quarterbacks have the ball altered.....if the refs didn't notice it (rocks coming from the colts side and pillows from the pats side) then what are we really talking about?

what's the league going to say then?

Listen to Wilbon he hates the pats on weei. This is what the national pulse is right now.
Wilbon is the Canary in the coal mine.

League is going to come down on somebody just for their PR image. They pulled the same crap with videotaping stuff when the reacted in haste.
