Neither one. Im rooting for NE to beat Indy first and then let the chips fall where they may.

If we beat the Colts, we are facing a stud at QB no matter what. Neither Rodgers or Wilson will choke in the big game.

It's tricky. The Seattle D is better, but the GB D is underrated in their own right.

I've watched a good amount of Seahawks games since they drafted Wilson. Their OL isn't their strong suit and their weapons are weak. Teams that have had success vs. Wilson have overpowered the OL with blitzes, as he holds onto the ball too long at times. You figure with Revis taking away Baldwin, we could afford to rush 5-6 often. Playing contain will be a disaster vs. Wilson.

Give me Seattle. Brady cementing his legacy by beating the team Peyton got blown out against. Also, Davante Adams is emerging and I'm just not sure our CBs can contain that trio with no pass rush.

It's very very close. Both teams present different challenges, but I think we match up just a tiny bit better against the Seahawks, and here are my reasons (granted, these may change depending on what we see in both championship games):

1) I feel like Seattle's standard running game is the kind we fare better against in general. Facing a good, tough running back is not usually our problem. It's when we face a quick running back who's running behind a really good offensive line. Forsett showed that. If our big boys can win the trench battle, they'll bring down Lynch more often than not.

2) We would play both quarterbacks similarly (which I know bothers a lot of posters here), by playing a contained rush. Rodgers has the ability to still beat you from the pocket, while I believe Wilson would be more limited there. Both would kill you OUTSIDE the pocket though, which is why I still believe that is the best philosophy.

3) Given points 1 and 2, in a Super Bowl with two weeks to prepare and the craziness that usually ensues in them, I want a game that I feel most comfortable that our defense can make the stop at the end. I always feel it will come down to that, and I trust our D versus the Seattle O more than Green Bay's O.

All things considered though, if we get there I'm going to feel both confident we can win and nervous we could lose against either one. Super Bowls are coin flips.

doesn't matter......each brings different problems for the pats as opponents.

I like the pats chances against either

I went with Potato Salad. Which ever team limps in as the bigger M.A.S.H.ed unit.

It's a tougher choice, imho, than others seem to believe (with Seattle being the clear choice to not play of most).

Why I would want GB: A)Seattle's got a significantly better D. B) Seattle has a lot of SB veterans. C) Wilson can change the game with his legs where Rodgers "only" adds potency. D) Seattle maintained a higher level of football on the road while GB's playing level has dropped noticeably more E) More 'playmakers'.

Why I would want Seattle: A)GB has the better O. B) Through the first 3 quarters of just about every game for many many weeks, Seattle hasn't blown anyone out (nearly every game is within one score to start the 4th). C) Seattle relies most heavily on their RBs gaining yards while GB has a more consistent track record of scoring big through the air (IMHO it is easier to adjust to a run game to slow it down/contain it than potent passing).

I have liked Seattle more up to this point as the favored opponent because of that 'haven't really blown anyone out' factor. Unless the Patriots lay an absolute egg or Seattle spontaneously goes nuclear, it appears that even if Seattle is out there proving they simply are the better team, chances still seem to be good the ball will be in Brady's/the Offense's hand at some point in the early fourth quarter with the chance to be within a few points, tie or go take the lead (again according to the track record). With GB having a track record of potentially burying you quickly, I like the idea of having a chance in the 4th quarter no matter if the Patriots have been outplayed (though GB;s step down in play away from lambeau should potentially be given more weight).

One overlooked factor is how much brandon browner and alan branch know about seattle and if this information can help us.

I would normally lean this way too. My first preference is for the two teams to beat each other up prior to playing us, but in this case I think the physicality of the two teams is too one-sided in Seattle's favor for that to really happen. Plus with two weeks before the Super Bowl, the injuries would have to be severe and I'll never wish that on a player.

It is entirely possible that Seattle beats up Green Bay, but the Packers sneak out a miracle finish to move on. In which case that might work in our favor (similar to Brady having his ankle tweaked leading into Super Bowl 42).

I'm a fan of Rodgers, but I will root for the Seahawks just for the opportunity to shut Sherman up in the biggest stage if we do move on.

browner might be able to offer up some tendencies on wilson, but I don't see branch as being such an astute individual.

I think Wilson needs to be approached the same way as flacco......he's going to throw it up there, so you need to make sure your corners stay with the WR, which ours do.

The rest of it is shadowing lynch. at that point, Seattle is not going to beat you with the short passing game.......the TE's will not win the game for them.

The Pats offense has just the tools to force the Seahawks defense into overpursuit and missed coverages

Seahawks. No need to be intimidated. If it comes to pass, I'd like to see the Patriots knock off the defending champions. Remember how sweet it was to beat the Rams.

A matchup between Belichick and his predecessor would be great. So much rich history there.

Neutral field is big in this one. The Seahawks thrive at home with the noise and vaunted 12th man. On the road they were 5-3.

The Seahawks lost to the Chargers, lost to the Chiefs and only put up 24 on the Broncos. The St. Louis Rams beat the Seahawks once and held them to 20 points in December. There are ways to keep these guys off the scoreboard.

If any team has been toughened by facing tough defenses in 2014, it's the Patriots.

The Seahawks haven't seen an offense like the Patriots in the hurry-up. The closest they seen of a high octane offense with a running game and multiple weapons in the passing game is the Cowboys who beat them soundly in their place 30-20.

I'm sure browner knows the tendencies of seattle's secondary too. He and richard sherman are tight.

And the Seahawks strike me as a team that doesn't make a lot of radical changes week to week. They seem to be the kind of defense that says, "Here's what we do, we just do it better than anyone else." It's EXTREMELY effective, because they have the talent and attitude to pull it off. So on one hand, Browner will likely be able to tell BB what Seattle is going to try to do. On the other hand, that information is probably known at this point and won't mean much if the Pats O can't fight through it.

As a passer, Luck is a vastly superior re: Wilson. Wilson is an outstanding game manager and avoids the big mistakes.

Agreed. I think GB is not as bad as people make them out to be. They played well vs the Pats.

Numbers show that Wilson is just as good the pocket as outside of it. As you point out, to avoid negative plays, he will take the sack. Hes taken more than his share over the past few years.

In addition, over the last 3 seasons SEA is a .500 team when they rush for > 115 yards.

Give me Seattle. Brady cementing his legacy by beating the team Peyton got blown out against. Also, Davante Adams is emerging and I'm just not sure our CBs can contain that trio with no pass rush.

You know TB wants another crack at Sherman...

If we lose I'd rather it be to the Seahawks. If we win I'd rather it be vs the Packers.

I root for the Patriots to beat the Colts this weekend. Whatever happens, happens in the other game. I only have so much rooting left over from last weekend.

if the pats get passed the colts I want to play the Seahawks just look at there last 6 games all vs teams going down the toilet and the 7 win panthers were giving them all they can handle until Cam Newton hand it them the game late,

I don't want to see the packers cause they will spread the pats out and BB will be in that piss poor bend but don't break defense with no pass rush all game and Rodgers will just pick it a part

Fourth option needed: Meteor

This.

In all seriousness though, I want Green Bay. First, as revenge for both this regular season loss AND Super Bowl 31. Second, I really don't want to lose to the Chicken Hawks. That would just suck.

I just want the Pats to win next weekend then we can talk Superbowl. Hoping for one opponent over another just set yourself up for potential heartbreak and disappointment if they were to lose.

>115 or <115?

Oops! Meant < 115.

In digging into is further, I think it's better to say that in 2013 & 2014, SEA is 4-4 when rushing for less than 108 yards. I'm throwing out 2012 as that was Wilson's rookie year.
