McDaniels likely the next Falcons HC?

Am I the only one that thinks this is ass backwards?

Probably not, but you're also probably wrong.

In football player selection probably needs to be subordinate to coaching, due to the importance of scheme. By way of contrast, I think a basketball coach should tailor his scheme to fit the talent his GM has been able to muster.

I agree. Dimitroff is a solid GM and Pioli did a great job when he was in New England. I think a staff of McDaniels, Dimitroff and Pioli could put a very competitive team on the field. Also, I just read that there are sources saying the the new head coach will have a say in the future of the GM. Am I the only one that thinks this is ass backwards?
I actually think Pioli and Dimittroff are reasons NOT to go to Atlanta.

Pioli stunk at the end of his tenure here and Dimitroff hasn't been great roster building for Atlanta either

Filling the holes in Atlanta would be easier than you may think.
Ridley at Runningback.
Akeem Ayers at defensive end.
Throw money at Pierre Paul.
Sign Mccourty.
They have the cap to do it.
At tight end Jermanine Gresham
And Rob Houser as a move tight end.
Nate Solder at tackle.
Denver will prob release Welker
Welcome to Atlanta.
. The solution is to sign posts free agents?

If I'm McDaniels the Falcons could be a good option. You have a QB, a high pick and you're in a division without a dominant team anymore

Yes it would and they would immediately become a team to root for in the NFC.
However I like most fans want him to stay that way Brady is comfortable, we don't get assistant coaches, scouts poached.
We have a heir when the GOAT coach of all times decides to put down the whistle.

Possible Scenario McDaniels stays.
Adam Gase head coach of the Niners.
Doug Maronne head coach of the Falcons.
Rex Ryan head coach of the Bears
Pep Hamilton head coach of the Raiders.
Jim Schwartz head coach of the Bills since a lot of fans think he was anyway.
Dan Quinn head coach of the Jets.
Mcdaniels offensive coordinator new title assistant head coach of the Patriots.

Looking at the Falcons messageboards a few minutes ago if the fans have their say its Rex Ryan.
Doug Marrone has also appearantly had a great interview according to some of the media outlets in Atlanta and Rex is there to interview today.
With most fans clamoring for him not to leave without a contract.
Would be great to keep our main coaches intact. I will definitely be checking up on things.

Keep us in the loop with updates.

Rex Ryan just ended a interview over 5 hours talking with Falcons brass!
Rex is interviewing with the Bills tomorrow but the common thought is that Rex is there man.
Falcons will also interview Todd Bowles and Teryl Austin in the next 2 days.

I think Ryan could only help the Atlanta defense so much, but realistically Atlanta needs better players across all three levels of that defense.

Talk about opposites, You have a scholarly lawyer and a brash loudmouth.

No link, but rumblings are that Cryin Ryan will end up in Atlanta!

Rex Ryan head coach of the Bears

Major outlets have been reporting since Sunday Night Football in week #17 that Chicago isn't even remotely interested in Rex Ryan.

One was NBC during halftime of the game (CIN/PIT), and the other was Florio and Pro Football Talk.

Can't imagine why given the true owner...Lol.

Yeah, right--good point. NBC bought out PFT awhile back, so they'll both likely report the same stuff.

I was thinking the older woman who owns the bears. Can't imagine she thinks highly of rex' buffoonery.

Oh, okay--I gotcha.

Yes, certainly a fair point.

Jason LA Conforta is tweeting the Falcons are very interested in Teryl Austin.
Supposedly Ryan is saying he is favoring the 49ers if he has his choice.
It seems to be changing by the day.
