Lions DT Ndamukong Suh {edited 2x} WINS APPEAL TO UNSUSPEND for latest stomp/step for playoffs

He won't win the Appeal. Bookmark this and toss it in my face if he does, but he won't. The League's letter to Suh is very detailed, makes it very clear that there is no way that the "second stomp" could have been an accident and leaves no wiggle room for the arbiter or whoever hears the case.

This guy must be either an idiot of unimaginable proportions or a psychopath. He is leaving millions of dollars of endorsement and contract money on the table. His behavior in the past was stupid and bad, but everybody loves "Mr. Discount Double Check," so this was off the charts and will never go away.

EDIT: Whoa! I was really wrong on this one. I guess the justification is that he wouldn't have been suspended if he had done this to the 53rd guy on the GB depth chart and not this year's likely MVP. I still don't like the guy and I don't like what he did.

I'm winding up...;)

I realize you added on to your original post, but I couldn't resist. For the record, I agree with your stance on this.

suh is the guy making like 20 million dollars this year in base salary right?

sure hes really going ot miss that 70k

I hope someone chop blocks him and ends his career.

Um...Goodell suspended him. It was the appeals officer, Ted Cottrell, who overturned the appeal.
Good point, but what is the point of fining him if he is innocent in the eyes of the appeal?

The way i interpreted Ted's decision is that he deserves punishment but not a severe punishment?

Clearly ted hasn't been paying attention.

heh heh...it's anything can happen day in Goodhell World....I was a lone voice in the wilderness 8 years ago...now EVERYBODY knows what a complete scumbag, liar, cheating backstabber and complete goon this little rich kid run amok has and will always be.

Rog the oddfather speaks, Cottrell's lips move.Same as it ever was.

Re: Suh winning the appeal. the important thing to note is that his history of dirty hits was not considered. The punishment, as weak as it was, was based entirely on the leg-stepping as an isolated incident. Which we all know it wasn't: this is what Suh does, because he's almost as much of a scumbag as his teammate Raiola.

It makes one wonder if those guys get together and compare notes about how to cheap-shot opponents on the sly.

These are nothing alike. One is illegal the other isn't.

Chiming in; I'll be outraged if an appeal is successful. Personally one game isn't enough for a repeat offender so I'm not happy about that. However, it's clearly deliberate. The first step was definitely accidental but once that happens he knows exactly where Rodgers is and he deliberately goes back further.

Since when is walking backwards illegal. What he did was morally wrong, but incidental contact with players on the ground under your feet when you're walking isn't "illegal". It was the intent to injure that made it wrong in the eyes of the league, just like the intent to injure Gronk was what should have made that fine worthy.

So, who thinks the league is gonna come down all gangbusters on Woody for tampering now?

Oh, they will. Then Woody will appeal and his punishment will be reduced to writing "I will not tamper" 100 times.

Gotta love this whole wink-nod tom foolery.

The NFL is turning into a joke. I hope "Jolly" Rodger Goodell does time some day.

NFL has never been about safety. They are about fining players that hit high to the head to "act" like they give a **** about the player and his future..but they don't. They just want more of their $$.

They want people to tune into the playoff game and have all major players playing in it. for the $$.

Hell you could have half of the Balt team go and kill a guy again and they would play this week. ok maybe it was only 1 raven who killed someone...

League is a joke. So based off this ruling no one should ever get suspended for a move like this ever again...

Goodell is ruining my favorite sport of all time....i hate HATE that ******* tool with a passion.

Well this is ********. If this was a regular season game he would have stayed suspended. The reasoning looked to me like they just lifted the suspension because the Lions said they would be at a disadvantag int he playoffs. Well too bad. Maybe do some self policing and tell your teammates to knock the **** off. Unbelievable.

Pathetic.

This league is a non-stop joke. So much for player safety.

edit: He got fined $70k. Should be a fine + 1 game suspension. No way can you give this guy the benefit of the doubt considering his history and assume it was "accidental"

Pereira doesn't agree with you

I don't usually hope someone injures and ends another players career but considering he's trying to injure other players deliberately and the league is doing nothing about it I do hope the same.

Pereira talks about how in real time it doesn't look intentional but that youtube channel doesn't show the video in real time. Talk about poor reporting by Fox Sports!
