I still find Smallwood's career trajectory so far curious. He might be an actual player, so I wouldn't mind seeing him signed here. It's not like we have a surplus of LBs.

Look at the comparison by CBS pre draft.
COMPARES TO: Jerod Mayo, New England Patriots - Smallwood's length, flashes of physicality and athleticism is sure to intrigue scouts who could see him as a poor man's version of New England's star.

Mayo underwhelmed me last Sunday.

We should get another QB if at least on the practice squad. If Tom Brady keeps taking the hits that he did last Sunday, we are going to need one.

I was very intrigued by George Uko around draft time earlier this year. He has a high motor and very active hands. He actually reminds me alot of our very own Chris Jones fwiw.

Smallwood was someone I had mocked to the Pats in one of my first mocks pre-draft. Interesting player with decent movement skills.

I'm not a drafnik, but does "I had mocked" mean you had ridiculed the guy as a potential draft pick?

After the run defense debacle on Sunday, Fua seems like a guy the Patriots should consider, especially with Siliga still working his way back from injury.

edit: Didn't realize he had been so unproductive throughout his career. Hard pass.

Fua makes Vellano look like an all pro. He has made one play behind the line of scrimmage in 3 seasons. We would be better promoting Quarles.

Edit: Just saw your edit, disregard.

We do not need another QB, why would we take any reps from Garopollo in practice, he should be out there as much as possible.

I think I had him tangled up in my mind with the light years better Sione Pouha.

I am surprised to read this, I thought Mayo was one of the better defenders on the field on Sunday – 12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery.

Mayo was excellent. But he's been getting piled on in this forum since 2008 even though he's been nothing but Mr. Consistent while on the field. He's not Keuchly or Willis, though, so he sucks.

He really is not far off those 2; actually to be honest he is probably at least as good as, what Willis is now. I have always liked Mayo, posters for whatever reason do not view him as a playmaker but I disagree, he makes many plays but more importantly, he is consistent.

It's hilarious how many people kill Mayo. They must be the douche and squeaky 2-6 crowd because those guys kill Mayo all the time. Ya he doesn't have the sacks that Willis has in his career but since 2011

Willis: 5.5 sacks- 44 Games
Mayo: 6.5 sacks- 37 games

And for the people killing him for Sunday, they do realize that was his first NFL game action since Mid-October of last year, right?
