Just for fun/hypothetical offseason conjecture...

Had the Pats beat Miami previously, got HFA, and then a Nor'easter struck the ACFCG helping them beat the Broncos, ultimately leading the Pats to proceed to the Superbowl to face the Seahawks,

How do you think they would've fared?

Unfortunately, I could imagine it looking like the same beat down. BB would've probably had to have divine inspiration to come up with some unthinkable and risky game plan to come out on top. And even then have some unexpected breaks.

A hell of a lot better than DEN did. I don't think NE would have won but they don't get blown out like DEN did last night.

They would have lost, but not by 35 points. No way BB's team comes in as unprepared as Denver's did.

I dunno, man. The Pats looked pretty unprepared/listless when they played Denver a couple of weeks ago.

Probably doesn't win. Maybe something like 27-17 Seattle. Would have been a really hard time scoring many points against that defense. But, they wouldn't have been rattled as bad as Denver was.

Would have been something like 34-7 Seahawks. It's easy to pile on Forehead, but this offense wouldn't have fared any better. I'd be curious to see how much mythmaking went into it if the Pats had gotten pasted like the Broncos did. Remember, Brady apparently led the Patriots to a go-ahead drive in the fourth quarter of SB46 and put them in a position to win (despite it actually being 11:30 left in the third when they scored 17, their last points).

That game was perfect conditions for Manning, in Denver, combined with us having tired DE's and rookie DT's. That's a recipe for disaster against a Manning offense. And we still only lost by 10.

Again, Seattle would have beaten us no question. But there's no way:

-BB Doesn't prepare for the crowd noise
-BB Doesn't have Gost just kick it through the end zone to start the 2nd half
-Brady probably doesn't throw a pick six in a Super Bowl

That's probably worth 16 points just from those three things (safety, return RD, Int TD).

If we're not adding back on injured players, they probably would have lost by 21-24 instead of 35. Don't think Brady turns it over like Manning did and our run game would have drive the ball right into the only weakness on their defense, but the passing game wouldn't be able to move the ball against them and, in the end, the defense probably would have let up. Still would have been a comfortable win for the Seahawks, but not as comfortable as Denver made it.

Seattle wins but we don't make as many mistakes to snowball the score.

31-21

Not sure any NFL team would have beaten Seattle last night, but if we had our injured stars we may have fared better than the Bronco's...

The Bronco's were completely outcoached and no one had a good game...

I think the patriots would have had their @sses handed to them. They are going to have to get significantly better on both sides of the ball this offseason to beat that team.

We lost 46-10 and TFB gets knocked out of the game.

I think we would have had a really good chance and I think it would be highly unlikely we would have been beat that bad.

I think giving how good our STs was we likely dont give up the KR TD. And there is a more than good chance we wouldnt have 5 turnovers. I think the plays where Peyton got his armed tugged one was a fumble the other the pic 6 I think Brady might have taken a sack. It can be frustrating at times but Brady usually sees it and ducks for cover and it usually annoys me as I feel he could avoid more sacks but when you see plays like last night I cant help but be reminded taking the sack is sometimes the right play.

I think you need to give credit to Seattle they were an absolute buzz saw last night and there is a good chance a similar outcome could have happened but I dont see how we could have done worse. I could see a simpler game plan and avoiding the mistakes and grinding out more of the game leaving us with a chance in the 4th and give me TB and that scenario and we will see what happens.

It would have been close. When we do lose, it's never by a lot.

If the Pats had healthy: Vollmer, Gronk, Mayo, Kelly, Wilfork, Dobson, Thompkins, Spikes and Talib, I think they could've won. Otherwise, not much of a contest.

It would be worse. Same outcome without the turnovers, total domination.

Made one minor correction for you. Look at what this team did without them IMO there is no question as to what we would have done with them.

lost by about 20 pts. That D would have killed us

Hate to say it but we would have gotten crushed. We may not of had the turn overs that Denver had but I can't see anyway that our offense could move the ball. Our WR would have no chance against how the Seahawks played last night.
