Yeah, I know, just call me Mr. Positive. :yo:

If the Pats lose to the Broncos, how bad would it be?

Most painful playoff loss ever? No. We know what that is. :spygate:

Second most? No. That would be the 2011 version of the worst loss. For me anyhoo.

Third? Third would come out of a group of 2006, 2010, and last year. Could be in that group.

And would it be bad because it's another 'close but no cigar' for the Pats, or bad because it elevates Peyton? I don't really care about that aspect, but some seem to.

Thoughts? Comments? Brickbats? :bricks: LOL

I think they can win, but if they do, it will be because they are tougher. If they lose, it will be because they have less talent on the field. I'm OK with that. This is nowhere near as crushing a loss as:

1. 2006-7 (Colts)
2. 2007-8 (Giants)
3. 2011-12 (Giants)
4. 2010-11 (Jets)
5. 2005-6 (Broncos)

The 5 most crushing losses in the Brady-Belichick era. In that order.

I won't lose any sleep like 2007 or our most recent superbowl loss, its better to lose with a not so talented team.:) . They're only require to play without fear as this will probably be the last game of the season.

I guess to answer your question it would depend how it happens.

I got over 2011 within a few hours of the game ending. The Pats had no business representing the AFC that year anyway.

But it would have been awesome to see Gronk catch that game ending hail mary. Karma for the helmet catch.

If we lose, I won't buy a 60" tv for the Super Bowl, stop watching sports till the draft and be more productive at work. :p

Nothing the Pats do will hurt as much as 1 and 2 did.

I expected the 05 loss. Pats weren't a great team that year to be honest.

I know it was a regular season game but the 31-0 loss in Buffalo is in my top 5 in this list for a lot of reasons.

Anytime there is a loss, have to also take into account how they lose. Not just who they lose to or when in the season they lose.

Why did they have no business? They were the best team in the conference. They also outplayed the Giants, I thought, and it was some crazy stuff out there in the first half. Like not having the ball at all after that whole safety scenario which was bogus as can be.

Speaking purely in the hypothetical realm, because this is where it shall remain, it's hard to put these in any particular order but it would be right up there with the following:

  • Both Super Bowl Losses to Giants
  • 2010 Season Division Game vs. Jets
  • 2006 Season AFC Championship Game @ Indy
  • Last years Championship Game vs. Baltimore
This game would be right up there. Also, this only accounts for the Brady-Belichick era...I go back a lot further with the team but it's hard to measure the disappointment of a much younger man...

They're playing with house money at this point, from my point of view. It would suck because another "close but no cigar" year would go by but it would be a joyful, memorable year for me.

The Colts loss worse than 2007?!?!?! No freakin' WAY. We had Caldwell in 2006, and freakin' Randy Moss and an 18-0 streak in 2007. Plus the hideous thought of all those 19-0 t-shirts distributed throughout Africa.

How many gutsy wins does this team need to have in a season to make believers out of y'all?

The 2013 pats are going to the SB my friends....why are we scared of manning in the postseason?

0-2 against winning teams in the regular season. A historically awful defense that got shredded by such pro bowl talent like Dan Orlovsky, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chad Henne, Vince Young and Rex Grossman.

Extremely fortunate to draw Tebow in the divisional round and even more fortunate that Lee Evans couldn't hang on to the game winning TD in the AFCCG and Cundiff missed a chip shot FG.

And for those of us old enough to remember, the SB loss to da Bears was also pretty emotionally scarring. :(

The worst way to lose?
Be up 3 or 4 with the ball and 4minutes left and failing to score/seal the game...punting it back to Peyton who marches down the field to win it.

THAT would be the worst. I'd rather get blown out.

as long as manning doesnt win it im happy,.

The only games that haunt my memories are the two superbowl losses. Some of the other irk me but they aren't the same.

This season pains me more because I lament how good they could have been if they just stayed even half way healthy.

Not bad at all.

The stud horses are in the infirmary:

Vollmer, Sebastian
Gronkowski, Rob
Wilfork, Vince
Kelly, Tommy
Mayo, Jerod
Spikes, Brandon

while the young horses can't get out of the stable:

Dobson, Aaron
Boyce, Josh

and the rest of the horses are ready for the glue factory:

Carter, Andre
Sopoaga, Isaac
Wilson, Adrian
Cole, Marquice
