Colts sign Deion Branch

How is Branch a traitor when he isn't even on our team? He's a free agent, which by definition means free to do whatever he wants. Branch's obligations to us ended when we no longer wanted his services.

If your airline sacked you tomorrow, would you be traitorous by getting a job with a different airline?

In Brady6's logical world, Branch should never dare take any employment ever again, especially when a team who was considering him earlier in the year gives him the shot to make contributions in the playoffs and have one last shot at glory. No, Branch should sit meekly in some Boston suburbian home, bowing before portraits of Kraft and BB, grateful that they decided to not call him again, because that meant he could more time at alumni functions and events. He certainly should never think about playing professional football ever again, not even a down, lest he wish to be labeled a TRAAAAITORORRRRRRR

Sorry, but calling him an idiot and a traitor is a little immature wouldn't you say? Business is business. I can be pretty sure that BB and the Patriots organisation have absolutely no problem with this.

Every job in life is a business Manx, let’s not act like the NFL is any different, soldiers are paid to do their jobs, cops are paid to stop criminals, etc. should the soldiers start working for other countries when their term is up, should the police start helping the criminals when they’re no longer needed? It is just business right?

I know I am exaggerating but the point is valid, many people who are doing things for financial gains are met with options to either be loyal to those who have done right by them or to turn on those people in order to benefit their own needs.

Wow. Holy ****.

Is it really too much to ask that Branch goes out to sea on a ceremonial burial boat and sets it alight in the Norse/Indio traditions? It that so bad?

Where was the Patriots loyalty when they didn't bring him back? Where was the loyalty towards Brandon Lloyd? When they force players to take pay cuts, how's that loyalty?

Where was the loyalty to Drew Bledsoe. They got rid of him just because they found someone cheaper and better. And after all that service he gave us.

I'm not saying Branch is wrong for signing with the Colts, just that no one should raise a fuss if the organization wanted to blacklist him.

Deion made $50+ million in his NFL career and won 2 Super Bowl he is doing it because he is a selfish egotistical traitor. My point of view is not ridiculous, this move shows that what this organization gave Branch was not enough and he is willing to hurt the franchise who gave him everything else he has achieved in the NFL simply to gain something that he already has. He is going to stand in front of younger more deserving players that he went to war with and spill their practice field secrets for the opportunity to play 1 game and earn at best $25-$30 grand.

It’s not about be a fan it’s about being a human being who doesn’t **** on the people and things that gave you an opportunity for your own selfish and unnecessary reasons.
The only thing that matters is the now. If the Pats didn't want him to sign with another team, they should have offered him a contract. Since they didn't want him, he did exactly what he had to do for himself. Some sports fans apparently think that "team loyalty" and all that other crap is more important than making a living. Life first, sports second. If I was at the playoff game on Saturday, I'd cheer when his name was called.

I've worked for companies like that, where they'll lay someone off and then get mad when they go work for a competitor (no non-compete agreements violated). Some people are delusional. My #1 priority is taking care of myself. I assume Deion's is the same. Everything else is just blabbing by people who don't get out enough.

So we shouldn't raise a fuss if the Patriots do something incredibly petty?

Why not?

The very fact that Branch is no longer a Patriot makes a mockery of your outrage though. We 'dumped' on Branch long before he 'dumped' on us.

That's how it was supposed to be! As the Boston skyline fades into the fog behind him, Branch, lying in the boat, wearing his best suit and soaked in flammable sacred oils, with ceremonial flowers all around him, raises a lit match over himself with trembling fingers. "Just... do your... do your job," he prays one last time, before dropping the flame.

But NO he had to be selfish.

This is one of the more asinine posts I've read in a while. The Patriots got rid of Branch. He has every right to make some money, and have another go in the NFL playoffs. Good for him.

The homer in me feels a little rage & disgust at this....but reality tells me Branch will have little to no effect on the outcome of the game.
I'm intrigued though-is this partly a psychological move Indy is trying to pull on us? Or is there truly that few available WR's? Is he actually BB's spy? ;)

See my post below, do you think that nobody who has a job in this world is offered something that would be betray the organizations or corporations that have done right by them in order to benefit themselves? I am a pilot I could lose my medical any time and not be permitted to fly anymore what should I do then start selling the information I know about the US airways to other countries because I need money and forget Delta it’s just business?

It’s not logical it’s called not being a self-centered **** who has zero loyalty to anything, Branch is the type of guy who flips on his friends when to make a plea deal, if you’re alright with those types of people that’s fine I believe that a man should have loyalty and gratitude to the people and things that have given opportunity in life.

For the record if Branch signed during the regular season or even at the start of the playoffs I wouldn’t have an issue with it, but six days before he faces this team with minimal gain to be had for Branch is a punk move, sometimes in life things come down to timing and not the decision itself, and the timing of this deal speaks volumes to what type of man Branch is. All of sudden the Colts want him after playing 17 football games it just happens to be 6 days before they face his former team that he has been connected to for basically all but 3 years in the last 12 years. That’s not business that is either being an idiot or being self-centered.

The Patriots didn't give him #83 back when they traded for him. Traitors.

Why not?

Perhaps they don't consider it petty.

Branch has the right to sign with the Colts, the Pats have the right to blacklist him.

fixed your post

The Patriots aren't going to blacklist him, because the Patriots aren't stupid.

EDIT: But if they did, it would be pretty petty, whether they considered it that way or not.

A month ago you claimed to be an air marshal.

I'm not really certain other country's airlines would want the dirt on American airlines, either. Here's how you can make your food really bad and make sure the luggage never gets there, guys.

The Colts didn’t want him for 17 games and now all of sudden they do – Gee I wonder why.

Like I said if I lose my medical Delta will get rid of me, should I turn on them and sell trade secrets to other organizations? It’s just business right? Good for me I have the right to make money...

No offense but if you’re defending the move Branch is making here it implies to me that you’d do the same thing, I would not do it, I consider loyalty to be a lost trait and the main reason this society finds itself in so much ruin constantly.
