Why is there a perception out there that Big Ben is a tough guy and Brady is a wimp?

I say it's the complete opposite. Brady goes out there hurt and guts it out, and you don't hear him talk about injuries or use it as an excuse.

Some other QB's are injury embellishing drama queens. When the cameras are on, the limp begins. There are a lot of words to describe guys like that but "tough" is not one of them.

LMAO

It's too bad that Rodney Harrison's clownish comment about Brady and the skirt had to air. That didn't exactly help with this perception...

Because Tom is viewed as a metrosexual off the field (not there's anything wrong with that).

On the field, Tom is one of the toughest players. Roethlisberger cries about his injuries and tries to exemplify that tough guy motto by pointing to ever nick he's got. As if to say "look at how beat up I am. I am so tough, aren't I?"

He's as fake as they come in that regard. If he has a hangnail, he'll try to pass it off as a broken finger.

And frankly, because Ben makes stupid plays dragging defenders inside and outside the pocket while being tee'd off on, and Brady turtles to live to see another day. I don't think this one is a mystery.

Brady is tough as hell. He stays in there and takes some big hits. Plays injured.

RGIII and Mike Vick on the other hand.... Diva QB's

When fans of an opposing team level the whole LOL METEREOSEXUAL" thing against TB, I tend to point them to a quote issued by one of our erstwhile receivers:

"Tom Brady is the toughest meterosexual I have ever come across"

But I digress. Big Ben's tendency to showcase his injuries is incredibly obnoxious. The point is to win games, not to act like a badass only to lose them

Big Ben is so full of it, remember a couple years ago when he hurt his ankle and played threw it. He was telling stories about how he got his toughness from Grandma, whatever Ben....

Yep, while Roethlesberger is Favreing it, Brady is winning games while actually hurt.

Even though he's been ailed by multiple injuries, I have far more respect for Amendola's toughness than I could ever have for Big Ben's.

You see it's truly simple:

If Ben is hurt and wins, it's a great victory and he's a warrior. If he's hurt and loses, it's expected and he is still a warrior for trying.

If Brady is hurt and wins, it's very meh. He should have won anyways. If he's hurt and loses, he's not tough and folds under the pressure.

At least that's how the media wants you to believe it. The media thinks the Squealers never can do wrong and that they are entitled to everything because they won 2/3s of their SBs before Reagan took office

Exactly.

Look at his hand today. He absolutely refuses to use that as an excuse for his inconsistencies so far this season. If that was Roethlisberger, he'd be blaming all of his struggles on that.

Tom doesn't use his injuries as a crutch, and always holds himself accountable for his play. Roethlisberger is a punk of the highest order.

I remember Damien Woody saying after the 2003 season i think saying how brady had a swollen elbow for most of the season had tough sessions every week at the trainers draining it and was vert acknowledging of his toughness. And the AFCCG he played with flu.

In 12 full seasons, Brady has been sacked 323 times. In 10 seasons, meathead has been sacked 365 times. And meathead is a heck of a lot harder to bring down due to his size, so he takes plenty of hits that don't result in sacks. Brady's line has been solid for much of his career.

Tom's the man, but Roethlisberger has gotten crushed behind a lousy offensive line for almost a decade. I'm not about to call meathead overly dramatic, because it is amazing that guy is still playing after all the hits he has taken in his career. If somebody pictures Brady behind the Steelers line, taking hit after hit and springing back to his feet for years, then that person needs a reality check. Roethlisberger is built like a tank, and needs to be to weather the damage he takes every game.

And that is no shot at Brady, as I believe he is a tough competitor. I just believe the comparison to Roethlisberger is a bit of a stretch.

Yup.....

Roethlisberger takes a licking, pretty much every game he plays. That's pretty much why the Steelers brought on the new O.C., as they wanted to cut down on that. Of course, since Haley's been there, the O-line has suffered major injury after major injury, leading to Ben's continued pummeling.

Guys talking about their injuries, or not talking about their injuries, doesn't make them tough. Guys playing through things that others wouldn't is what makes them tough, and both of these guys fit that bill.

Why do Patriot fans need to tear down all the other quarterbacks in the league to prove Brady is the best?

Roethlisberger is a terrible human being whom I enjoy watching suffer huge hits. And he does suffer a lot. If their is one positive thing that you can not take away from 'Big Ben', it's that he is incredibly tough.

OK, Professor Nobel...give us your "Mark Sanchez-Warrior" dissertation....

Yes, because Sanchez is obviously who I was alluding to.

that has nothing to do with it...you slam every other poster on this board for mocking Big Ben, as if this is some terrible failing...well then, do it for all the other poor pinatas we target all season. It's YOU that needs to check YOUR sensitivity meter. Nobody is THAT stupid to really believe the insults thrown around at Rothlisberger...jeezus krist, watch other teams publicly blast Brady with openly homophobic remarks for the past ten years. Point out your outraged posts about THAT, or else take a tissue and blow your nose...Nancy.
