What's up with all this Brady is declining crap??

Brady hits KT in the end zone, with 5 seconds left, to win the game - JUST LAST ******* WEEK! And he was the GOAT!

And now Brady is a scrub...

Selfish, foolish, short-term memory problem suffering, ungrateful clowns!

Yes, he made some bad throws, yes, he made some bad decisions (How easy it is to judge from the comfy of your sofa, with hindsight 20/20, and bird's view of the field... ), but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Looks who he is surrounded by, and who he has to play with!

No Welker, no Hernandez, Gronk at 50%, no Amendola, no Vareen, Christ.... you fools should be thankful we're at 5-2, BECAUSE of Brady, NOT despite of him. If not for Brady, with this young offense, and atrocious defense, we may very well be sitting at 0-7!

Do me, and the rest of the sane fanbase a favor: STFU with the Brady carp, or GTFO! Apparently you have already forgotten who built this dynasty!

Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Steve Young, Kurt Warner, and John Elway all retired at age 38. Drew Bledsoe retired at 35. Next season Tom Brady will be 37. That puts things into perspective. He can say whatever he wants about playing till he's in his 40s but when Father Time decides it's the end, then it is the end. And the end isn't that far off.

With that said... the end is not here yet. Hopefully he and the rest of the offense - especially the OL - start playing a lot better than they are. With the injuries it's time for everyone else to nut up.

football is a week to week game, and this board is no different..its sad. if brady comes out and throws 3 TD's against Miami everyone will be back on the bandwagon.

but, the OL needs to get it together. It was clear brady was uncomfortable back there with the pressure he was under. We also need Amendola back

amendola, gronk, edelman the rookies and Ridley/Bolden should help cure what ails brady

Well...exactly. Saying "Brady declining crap" is silly. Fact is, of course Brady will decline due to age. When and how much is the question. That doesn't mean issues of the team--o-line, receivers, etc.--aren't still relevant, of course they are. But Brady's decline is inevitable.

I'd say this is the first year we've seen noticeable slippage, but he's still terrific and can still win a Super Bowl with him.

Brady fire 46 passes, but completed only 22 of them for 228 yards. Those are some disgustingly nasty stats. I don't know how that can be magically fixed. These are the type of number we should expect of him moving forward. I honestly don't think he will ever be in sync with his receivers, it is what it is. Lets hope that we'll be lucky to sniff the playoffs.

(When the season is over, this offense will need a major overhaul at wide receivers and offensive line)

This is an old story and has nothing to do with Brady's skills eroding.

When Rex's QBs don't sciz the bed, the Jets/Ravens are always competitive b/c Ryan has an excellent plan that forces the patriots to do what they don't do well---connect on the deep ball and run consistently. Their D line is so good that they can control the running game without devoting a lot of resources and then they drop everybody into the short zones to limit the easy completions to Gronk/Edelperson/Welker/Amendola/Hernandez/slot receiver du jour. At some point, Brady is going to have to make them pay down the field, and to do that, he is going to have to put a little more air under the football. This has been the story going back at least as far as the 2007 game in Baltimore.

An offense built around having a guy who can get open over the middle within the first 5 yards is struggling in large part because it doesn't currently have a guy who can get open over the middle within the first 5 yards. This should come as a surprise to no one. However....

All of you making this 'declining' claim should feel free to go to Vegas make some bets involving your homes about Brady's numbers once Amendola returns and Gronk gets a feel for the offense.

The "atrocious" defense that allowed 20 points in regulation and scored 7? Despite missing their 2 starting DT, best LB, and best CB.

I don't know if he is declining. I do know that my eyes tell me he's not as sharp so far this year as he has been.

I noticed a camera shot today where he was flexing his fingers. Perhaps he has a dislocation that we don't know about- and maybe won't until the end of the season. Remember, he played with a sports hernia and it was not made public until the season was over.

Do you remember 2002 and the "gloves on" and "gloves off" debate? He wasn't very good and/or accurate with the long ball then.

He will decline. The question is do QBs fall off a cliff like RBs (e.g. Shaun Alexander) or do they slowly fade? Do you believe Brady went from great to mediocre in one year based on this decline?

It's very possible. His accuracy is so off this year. They are horrible on 3rd downs this year ( in part because of rookies but again..no excuse)

That defense also was playing against a terrible offense and still couldn't get off the field, registering only 2 3-and-outs, and allowing drives of 14, 12, 12, 9, 8, 8, and 8 plays. Just sayin'.........

Really??? I guess QB's who bounce back from bad stretches snort pixie dust. I've been highly critical of Brady, but can not fathom how you can give up on him this soon.

Yes, let's overhaul our group of rookie WR's

What you just said makes NO sense at all...

Did you NOT see missed balls going all over the field?

I sure did.

Brady isn't entirely at fault, but, he absolutely contributed to losing today.

Did you read the post before you attempted your response? It might make a little more sense that way.

Did I say Brady made bad decisions? Yes, I did. Could that account for some of the bad throws? Yes, it would. There is your clarity. None of that equates to declining ability. Is that clear enough for you?

If you watch where the ball lands, and believe it is a bad throw by the QB at all times, then you simply don't understand the game. Those not dumping on the QB, nor defending him for every bad throw, probably understand this. BB criticized armchair QBs not that long ago when he said “I don’t know how you can know that unless you’re really part of the team and know exactly what was supposed to happen on that play. I know there are a lot of experts out there that have it all figured out but I definitely don’t,” Belichick said.

If you believe you know the score with the offensive woes, ask these questions:

1. Do you have a copy of the playbook?
2. Do you know what play was called?
3. Do you know the specific routes (specific pattern, timing, etc.)?
4. Do you know scripted adjustments to those routes?
5. Do you know the direction the QB was given with regards to the throws in that play (bullet, touch, etc.)?
6. Do you know if the line held, or the throw was rushed?

If you claim to 'know' anything, then clearly you have all this information in hand. If your answer to most of the foregoing is you lack information, then you really know nothing and are guessing with little to no actual fact.

If you want to blame Brady for every failure, knock yourself out. I tend to believe there is probably blame for all when the offense doesn't run, and am disinclined to throw everything that goes wrong at his feet.

Re: What's up with all this Brady is declining crap??q

There were a lot of plays where Brady had time and made awful overthrows as well. Dobson got open deep a few times and he had no touch. It evens out to Sub par qb play as well as sub par oline play at times. I'm sure Brady will shake it off but if he made better throws today were not talking about the oline were talking about how we beat the jests.

One bad throw to Dobson at the end, one perfect throw to Dobson early, but Dobson slowed down

Brady hasn't looked all that good. He needs a better commitment to the run game and some better play calling to be successfully. Their 3rd down conversion rate has sucked, I blame JMD more than any one. He was corrupted by 07, move the chains and win games. Brady will look better, but he needs help.

opposing defenses seems to know what's coming on a lot of plays...I've seen this before, the Ravens in 2009 for example. Maybe McDaniels is tipping plays with offensive substitutions..I really haven't looked hard enough at game tapes to make that judgement, but I know there are people who are.

How was he corrupted 6 years ago? I mean, in 4 of the last 6 years they had more 3rd down conversions and 1st downs and plays than anyone can remember. Last year's O put up 35 points a game. Conversion rate was 50%.

So why is 2007 still significant given what we've seen in 4 of the last 5 years?

Oline has been horrible. I anticipate Brady getting hit when he starts a play under center. Solder was beat like a drum today by Wilkerson. We should get used to this when we play against the Jets. Solder is pretty good, but Wilk is a monster. He reminds me of a young Seymour. Sucks that the Jets got this guy anchoring their DL.

That being said though, Brady needs to hit his receivers when they are open. There's been plenty of plays where Brady has time and his receivers have been open and his throws give his receivers no shot at fighting for the ball.

He's gonna get hit in the playoffs, if we do make it, when we play good defensive teams.

So while I agree that our OL is not playing great, the chances that Brady does get to throw when his receivers are open, he needs to hit them more than what he's doing now.

I would eat Brady's poop to save his life, but even I will say that he's gone from great to good. Go watch soME GAMES FROM 2004-2007 or 2010-2011 and tell me he's not worse now.

It happens. He's on the back 9 folks. Still love him and don't want to see him go.
