WE NEED TO PREVENT THE COLTS FROM TRYING TO BECOME A DYNASTY. BOB KRAFT< TIME TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE - ADALIUS, WE NEED YOU. TEDY B IS A LIMITED PLAYER NOW-WE NEED SICK LB's FOR 07!!!!

When has Bob Kraft ever NOT spent as much money as it takes to maximize New England's championships.

None of the players that have been let go have saved Kraft a dime. They just opened up more cap space. He has used virtually all of that cap space.

You can argue that BB's cap management strategy is flawed (that would only make you an idiot) but it is factually wrong to say that Kraft has been pinching pennies when it comes to putting the best team possible on the field. Had he spent any more, we would be in violation of the salary cap.

we're going to know real soon if thomas is about the money or the success, by where he chooses to sign.

Two starters, neither key. Their backups are upgrades.

Circled on the calendar? Are you kidding? The Colts have been circled on the calendar for years. Do you think when they were 13-0 and going for a perfect season that they weren't circled on every calendar? Do you think when they started 9-0 again last season they weren't circled again by everyone? I actually think teams probably gun more for an undefeated team than a Super Bowl champ. Even prior to that, don't you think every team had the Colts circled when Manning was going for 49 TDs and Marino's record? They didn't want Peyton breaking the record vs. them. This has been going on for years. Even though they weren't Super Bowl champs, many/most people have viewed the Colts as the top dog for years.

:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

We get it. The Colts are awesome. How dare we question their awesomeness.

Yankee/Colts must be depress....There is cap hell....Manning had to redo his contract for Freeney....Maybe just enough $$$$to sign draft picks....:bricks:

:rocker:

Pats fans are awesome! Every year they lose players and lose players(Dillon, Graham, Branch, McGinnest, Ty Law, etc., etc., etc.,) while the Colts do not, yet every offseason they spin the Colts are DOOMED tale and never see the irony. :rocker:

Man, I hope there is some truth to this. Adalius Thomas is an absolute perfect fit for this defense. He can be moved around anywhere along that front seven. We can line him up at OLB and then have him come up the line as a DE, allowing us to switch to a 4-3 on the fly. Or he can drop back in to coverage and act as something like a third safety. He could go inside at linebacker too. The guy is so versatile that with him on the field opposing offenses would NEVER know what they were going to get!

Not again a 30 years old FA...

Contract Prediction: 4 years - 30 mil and 10 mil to sign.

wow,,,,,,,,, that is serious coin considering the way the Pats spend in FA, 9.5 per year.

He brings alot to the team that gets him.

I figure 10 mil per year, when everything is set and done should be reasonable. And we can afford it!!!!!!!!!!!

If SF is truly after Nate Clements, as reported by Adam Caplan
here http://nflexperts.scout.com/2/623046.html
can they afford Adalius Thomas as well??

San Fran has more cap then anyone I think.

Both the Pats and the 9ers could aford it, but its a hell of a commitment, which could of course possibly affect either teams ability to sighn talent down the road

I think you are overstating things a little bit. he isnt the first guy in the league or on our team who can do those three things.

He is 30 years old,but played alot ST...Less wear and tear on the body...I think he has alot left in the tank....The tank is half full, not half empty...

Don't you have your own site,ball washer:confused:

4AM and no deal announced for Adalius that I'm aware of...
I guess rumors about a preconceived deal that was just going to be finalized at 12AM and announced can be called wrong.

Unless they've reached a deal and are holding out on the announcement... which I doubt. Patriots still in the running?

Still waiting for any news???Wonder if they are going to jump on makeing deals???

I'm quite obsessively waiting for news... Can't find any. I'm up at this hour anyway.

Still can't find anything

I feel your pain,brother......Now more next month:eek:

The Colts just won the Super Bowl.

They have about 20 FA's

They needed Peyton to redo his deal just to sign Freeney.

They're losing 4 or 5 key starting players. Not irreplaceable just still a loss.

They're going to be circled on every teams calendar

valid points, although most of us figured that they had no shot last year without Edge. I hope you are right.

Anyways, on to the matter at hand. Adalius Thomas is the best of all free agents and he plays a position of need for the Pats. It would be great to get a deal done. I just hope it is not for too much and handicaps us in negotiations with players such as Ty Warren in the future.

First day of free agency, let the speculation continue.

Why are we doing this to ourselves? :(
I would love to see Thomas in a Patriot Unit. He would be a perfect fit here. But I just can't see the Pat's spending that much COIN for him.
