Belichick did a great job handling the media today but I have to be honest, I was a little taken back by the ferocity of Tebowmania in New England. Granted it's only the first big media Q&A since the signing, so it was expected, and Belichick handled it pretty masterfully, and will really shut it down next time.

I think the Patriots will get a handle on this, but I have to admit, it's bigger than I expected. I mean we run a pretty tight ship here in New England and we're not really used to this unwelcomed media-frenzy over stupidity.

I'm not going to be at the week #2 home opener, but I feel like it would be a pretty amazing statement to make to the idiots in the media if a super loud and pretty dramatic Brady chant got going stadium wide.

I mean something premeditated. Something powerful. Something epic.

A statement moment.

Not sure how the media could ever ask another Tebow question afterwards, and the kid could just learn and evolve without all the distractions.

Bet Tom would get a kick out of it too.

Have three months. Spread the word :)

Could be a moot point, since Tebow may not make the team. Secondly, I believe all that would do would add to the very media frenzy about which you are concerned. Thirdly, if the circus atmosphere you witnessed today continues, I believe BB will pull the plug on this experiment long before opening day.

COMPLETELY idiotic of Bill to go along with this just because Josh needs to somehow prove he didn't make a boneheaded decision drafting in the first round a QB who can't throw and is dumb as a brick. This Tebowmania bull will completely detract from the season and cause extreme tension in the locker room. Crazy move.

I disagree. I think Tebow would like like a fly on Brady's shoe and the media would just realize this isn't New York and sulk back in their holes.

Wouldn't hurt that Brady is bound to have 5 TD passes that day.

You--and apparently Bill along with you--don't appreciate the cult like following this guy has. Questions about him are going to monopolize the attention of the press and get old very quickly for the players.

Mmm-hmm. I'm sure being peppered with questions about the 3rd string quarterback every week will REALLY go over well with Brady.

He's a professional, not a fanboy. He can deal with it.

I'm not sure that you understand one of my main points: if the media hordes have not "skulked back to their holes" long before the regular season starts, Timmy Boy will have long been gone from here, in my opinion. He doesn't have the requisite skills, either physically or mentally, to be a successful NFL quarterback.

Do you really think the GOAT needs a chant behind him to solidify his position with this team? This is Brady we're talking about, not Sanchez.

Agree.

It would make a much better statement to not pretend there's a QB controversy here. There's not.

Tebow will be lucky if he makes the team, and if he does, his most useful skill is probably going to be as the scout QB.

Your hysteria is worse than anything we've seen with Tebowmania. :D
You all need to calm down.
Tebow will not be a distraction for the Patriots in any way.

Doesn't hurt at all to see what Tebow can do. If Tebow shows enough then trade Mallett and make Tebow the backup. Brady is playing another 4 or 5 years anyhow.

And no Brady doesn't need a chant.

Yes, I'm sure Bill Belichick cut a player just to help his OC prove that a decision made three years ago for a different organization is the right one.

Who gives a s##t!

So be it. I'm defeated.

'circus like atmosphere' quickly becoming the most over used and annoying phrases in football.

Been a huge distraction so far ...

NOT!*

* I'm bringing it back.
