ESPN:Are the Patriots too uptight?

Please stop linking to James Walker. Every time I hear his name all I can think of is how much I miss Tim Graham.

Ugh..what a bum.

Screw ESPN. Not clicking...

I guess WW should have taken that 3 year deal the FO offered him last year or whatever it was. Sounds like his agent is the uptight one. He wanted them to match the Broncos offer, obviously he diddnt hate it here.

Also, plenty of people have raved about the Pats strictly biz atmosphere and since its generating a model franchise I cant see issue with it.

The team does its talking on the field. Call it uptight its certainly not ****y as many other teams fans proclaim. Shut your mouth and do your job. If that is uptight I will take it.

BooHoo paying for the Pats isnt as fun as other teams. Is this Pop Warner?

Welker, Walker, Waxler, Weeper, BLEAH!!! :bricks:

Loved Wes when he was here. Getting a bit sick of him now already.

NOT clicking on that damned link ...

Yea, and I bet every other team in the league will follow suit. BTW , Rex lets everyone "be themselves" . Nuff said. This aint no boys club. These are men making huge amounts of money. Its a JOB! Walkers just another d!(k head!

I'll second that motion. I don't really see the purpose or upside of linking every 'OMG, look at what somebody said negatively about the Patriots' column. As for Walker, consider this: tonight's entry is that he is claiming that the "Patriots must be desperate if they're turning to Tim Tebow in search of answers for their offense".

There are dozens of other professional writers out there that are far more worthy of recognition for their analysis and viewpoints.

You know, I've been very supportive of Wes' choice to leave.

But this latest blurb was pretty classless and a lousy cheapshot. Completely unprofessional.

The blog post before that has Walker linking to an article where Dustin Keller is ripping the Jets for having too much "nonsense" going on. Walker notes how the media often refers to it as a circus. I don't know what the hell to say.

I really love how a Welker comment justifies the post. Sure, John Fox is more relaxed than Bill Belichick, but the two organizations are quite similar. Denver is quiet and conservative and led by a similar QB in Peyton Manning. It's very business-like and I can't imagine it being really that different from what Welker experienced here.

Yeah, as Mike Loyko tweeted in response to that piece, the Pats' "desperate" offense had so many "woes" last year that they scored the third most offensive points in an NFL season ever.

Walker is an idiot. But..

I think Bill and the Patriots are too uptight.

There is a middle ground -- They don't have to go to the Jets level. Loosening up a little couldn't hurt; and could arguably help.

I don't think it serves Bill any purpose to be in disdain of real questions. Spygate is the prime example; he could've easily explained his point of view, and the media would've moved on. Instead he says 'I'll discuss it after the season'. Then 5 months later he says "That's I the past; time to move on". That's just being a jackass for no reason.

The part about the uptightness that I do like is they always respect their opponent in the press and hardly say negative things about them -- that's just being classy.

Welker's comments aren't anti-patriots; he's just telling the truth as he sees it -- I don't expect him to become Richard Sherman or Ocho Cinco -- but he'll probably talk a bit more truthfully and less cliché now that he's allowed too. I doubt anything negative will happen as he said he's learned from the one time he crossed the line that he shouldn't have.

I also want to add that, after a pattern has been established, it's no longer news when someone like that Walker clown from ESPN bashes the Patriots. It's all he does. I'd be more surprised if he ever wrote a string of evenhanded articles about the team.

If some national or local writer (who didn't have a track record of Patriots hate) produced a scathing article on the team, then I could see starting a thread about it.

I actually like ESPN Boston. The other ESPN...not so much.
