Re: Tom Brady "beyond enraged"

is he skulking around his mansion in his Uggs, yelling at his butlers? LOL this is hilarious....
almost Red Sox-like territory now....

i'm picturing that right now....

what does giselle think?:D

Re: Tom Brady "beyond enraged"

Curran followed up his original tweet with this:

"The enraged party in my previous tweet was someone close to Brady. Not Brady himself. Got no idea how he feels. But I bet I could guess."

Maybe Brady is also enraged, but he hasn't told anyone that.

Edit: Beaten by SoCal Bong. Now I'm beyond enraged!

Are you sure it's you that's enraged and not someone close to you?

Re: Tom Brady "beyond enraged"

Surprised this thread title hasn't been changed yet. Just this morning I got threatened with practice squad for starting the Pollard thread and not linking to an official FA list — even though I cited Pollard's own Twitter account. At least that was accurate.

EDIT: And it's been changed. Thank you.

Re: Tom Brady "beyond enraged"

Patriots might trade for a WR. Rumors are that Titans are shopping Nate Washington.

That'll make us all happy.

Tom Brady "beyond enraged"

Wes turned down two years 16 fully guaranteed last year, I think the Pats then made a decision to move past him regardless of a change in price.

Yeah, welker had his chance last year and isn't a pat. I am glad. Fix the d and not sign someone who can't make a friggen play for us in the playoffs. Maybe if you caught the ball in these games we would keep ya. IMO

Re: Tom Brady "beyond enraged" - CORRECTION - NOT BRADY

I added this at the start of the thread but to make it known, Brady wasn't the one who made the comments about being "enraged", it was a person close to Brady and in no way described the quarterback's mindset. Curran clarified this minutes later:

https://twitter.com/tomecurran/status/311955494594027520

Curran's original Tweet:

"Spoke to someone close to Tom Brady. Beyond enraged at contract details that netted Broncos Wes Welker. "Disgrace" "disservice" were used."

That wasn't clear and definitely lead the majority of people to believe that the person close to Brady was essentially relaying the QB's thoughts. I love Tom and he's a good guy, but that's kind of a major oversight from someone who is normally better than that :bricks:

Agreed, Curran usually is way better. Can only imagine how many times that original tweet has been picked up and made into a "story" on the web by now. By the end of the week 90% of NFL fans will believe firmly and permanently that they were Brady's words.

That's the problem and despite him clarifying it, in the Twitter-verse it's kind of too late :ugh:

Which is the defense he's using too... somehow he's of the mind that people would clarify exactly who was enraged when that juicy, sweet retweet button is right there, ready to spread the word of Brady's fury like a fire through dry kindling.

What I find strange is that, while reading over that tweet, it didn't occur to Curran that a ton of people who read it would conclude that he was describing Brady's mindset. As far as reading comprehension mistakes go, he left it so vague that it was practically inviting the reader to interpret it that way. If someone with a little less credibility had written it, I'd accuse them of being intentionally misleading.

FWIW, Curran does seem to have sources that are pretty close to Brady. He's been breaking Brady-related news for years now. Granted, the last major news that he broke about Brady was that his knee injury might keep him out for all of '09, but everyone's entitled to a mulligan from time to time, I suppose.

gisele is just pretending to be "enraged" to cover up; she hasnt liked WW since he dropped the rock in the SB.

OK..... 12 year old joke, but I gotta say it anyways......

Is it possible to be enraged and then not be enraged? :D

Why do people seem to like Welker more then Brady? Brady is the muxh better player and the longer tenured employee.

gisele is just pretending to be "enraged" to cover up; she hasnt liked WW since he dropped the rock in the SB.

It was a typo. Tom was engorged, Giselle is happy and all is well in the Brady household.

Breaking news, a misquote: Brady and Whelker are engaged. Gisele not so happy.

kind of telling that he only got 2 offers in the 5 and 6 mil range for 2 years.

clearly the rest of the league doesnt see him as a #1 and that's close to #3 money one some teams

Other things to consider is the pats making a run at roddy white next year(falcons need to get matty ice a new contract, and julio jones is their new #1)

Everything is going to be A-Okay

this is branch all over again, the pats are going to keep being awesome, Welker is going to have 2 lack luster years and then he'll come back at vet minimum and pull a branch and say "i wish i had stayed, leaving was not worth the 2 million)

The other possibility is that Curran is now lying, to cover for a source -- Brady -- whose confidence he originally broke, e.g. due to a misunderstanding.

That would make sense to me. I try to never ever lie in print, but the times I come closest to doing so are when I'm protecting a source.

@tomecurran Someone close to Sam Bradford is beyond enraged right now.

Hey, checking in...really sucked that it went South like it did. Wrote the tweet while driving with thighs on way to my office. In trying to jam in descriptive words in 140 chars - it became ambiguous. Didn't realize it would be interpreted that way. We move on.

gisele is just pretending to be "enraged" to cover up; she hasnt liked WW since he dropped the rock in the SB.

That was NOT an easy catch by any stretch of the imagination. He had to pivot his entire body all the way around in mid-air, jumping and reaching way high, to even have that shot at it. That incompletion was just as much Brady's fault as it was Welker's IMO. Had he caught the ball, it would have been an acrobatic catch. It was catchable, but at the same time it was not a good pass.

Anyway, you know that Brady is going to be diplomatic in his comments about Welker's signing with a different team. If he is in fact enraged, he's not stupid enough to tell the world. I'm sure he hates it.
