If I have this calculated correctly, by the end of the day the Pats could any of the top 3 seeds.
Seed #1-
If Houston loses and the Pats win, both will be 11-3 and the
Pats take the #1 by virtue of head to head having won vs Houston last week. It doesn't matter what Denver does because even if they win to be 11-3 as well, the Patriots will have defeated both of them and head to head is first tiebreaker.
Seed #2 (current)
If the Patriots and Houston both win today, the Patriots (at 11-3) would be the #2 seed to Houston's 12-2. Even if Denver wins to be 11-3, Pats own head to head tiebreaker.
Seed #3-
If the Patriots lose and Baltimore wins, the Pats fall to the #3 seed. Houston would be #1 and the remaining three teams would be 10-4 BUT Baltimore would win the tiebreaker (first tiebreaker is head to head) since they would have defeated BOTH NE and Den. This drops the Pats and Den to #3 and #4 and Pats beat Denver so they would get the #3 seed.

Seed #3 scenario 2

If the Patriots lose and Denver wins, Houston and Denver are the #1 and #2 since Denver would have a better record 11-3 than the Pats' 10-4. Baltimore at 9-5 would be the #4 seed.

Seed #4 I can't envision any scenario ( including ties) where the Pats could end the day as the #4 seed.

This is the worst scenario. By 4 pm we will know if tonights game is make or break game for a bye.

So, it sounds like we are looking for wins from Indi and Denver today.

This is assuming a Pats win tonight.

I'm rooting for the Ravens a this point since we'll still get the edge on the Ravens and Broncos if we lose tonight and then all end 12-4.

Looking like a 2 or 3 seed at best

Indy is getting pounded at this point, that game is going to be a blowout

10-3 with a fumble on the goal line, it could be closer.

Indy is also likely to be playing for more in Week 16 when they get Houston at home so I don't think the #1 seed is set in stone yet.

guys the only thing that matters is that the pats have a higher seed than the broncos. if the pats are 5 and the broncos are 6 that is ok.

@DEN is the only thing that slows up a SB trip.

I don't like the Pats chances if they have to go to Houston after destroying them last week, going to be a lot of revenge in mind if a rematch happens.

I am hoping the Texans get upset,I worry more about going to Houston than Denver.

The Patriots are better than the Broncos and Texans.

We need to win tonight. Bye week and home field advantage over Denver could be crucial. Doesn't matter if they meet in the divisional or championship game one of those 2 teams will represent the AFC in the SB.

just end up ahead of denver no matter what...so a win tonight please

they are...but that houston game reminds me of the jets blow out in the reg season and look at what happens come playoffs.....houston is better than what they showed last week and will be a very close game if we have to go there

And brady in denver is not a good thing..for some reason

Houston will win their game, so NE is essentially playing for the #2 seed this weekend. I hope the Colts can take HOU at home and the Pats can win out. I don't see Denver losing another game this season.

This thread makes me think back to week two and that holding call on Gronk after Spikes caused the late game fumble and then the subsequent miss by Gost (who has had a terrible year by his standards).

So should we be rooting for the Colts at this time?

Come playoff time I don't think anyone is gonna want to face us regardless where the game is being played.

If we beat SF tonight, and we should, the #2 seed looks like a lock to me, but you still gotta play the games........

Looks like Indy is losing today.

With luck they'll still have something to play for in the rematch. Anybody know how their tiebreak stands vs. Cincy?
