Rex less than thrilled with refs

well, Wrecks is NUTZ...that was clear pass interference...just wait for the pics...he's a loud mouthed moron

He makes beating them more fun

Watching that oaf pace the sidelines all night I could not believe how totally divorced he is from what's happening offensively. Whenever Li'l Marky came over during timeouts it was Sparano and some other assistant schmuck talking to him. Wrecks ALWAYS was way off somewhere else. He didn't know what was going on with the offense, had no input, and obviously did not care. A head coach in name only.

The pre excuse was the Patriots are breaking the rules by going tooooo fast, the post excuse is that the Refs did it...

Wake up Wrecks, your team stinks...

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha tubby.

The refs did suck...for the patriots. That PI on Lloyd? It was almost like a manning vs pats colts game from yesteryear

This. Rex needs to man up and understand that every now and then you get jobbed by the refs big time. It happens. I can think of at least 4 times in my experience as a Pats fan that I've seen it influence a game. Torques me off big time. Still rubs me raw when I think about it.

And yet, had the Patriots made a couple more plays, they wouldn't have been jobbed by those calls. The calls wouldn't have influenced the game the way they did.

Rex doesn't seem to understand that. EVERY team gets hosed form time to time. I didn't see that happen to him last night, however, and I was paying pretty close attention.

He was right about one thing, they called the penalty on the wrong guy a few times. Once was the special teams play on the Jets when their number 39 face masked Woodhead and treated him like a shot put. They called it on number 54 and the poor schmuck was pleading his case to Westoff and getting chewed out. Turns out the guy didn't do anything but it was a teammate who committed the infraction.
On another occasion, I think they called a penalty on Mayo IIRC and he was on the bench at the time....

That was some funny stuff.

Westoff was really giving it to that poor #54, who looked like he was pleading for his job.

Wilson interfered on the next 3rd down play as well but this time it wasn't called. It was a blatant mugging both times.

He should of gotten a personal foul when he was out on the field arguing with one of the officials.

Yes he should have. Even the announcers recognized that.

Are we talking on the first and 10 late in the fourth? That looked like a good call to me. Lloyd extended his arm into the receiver, which a WR should know they can't do.

On another note, I have no idea why Jets fans think that PI in the fourth quarter was incorrectly called. Wilson was practically holding onto Hernandez' left arm as the ball was coming in. The story shouldn't be about why a ref 20 yards down field threw the flag, but why the one watching Wilson hold Hernandez didn't throw his.

There were some close calls throughout the game, but it was pretty even handed and pretty well called overall.

I think the issue is the exact same thing wasn't called a penalty on the Jets just a little bit earlier. If you're calling it it's an obvious penalty, so it should've been called both times.

The officials were calling the situations and not the game much of the time, which resulted in a bunch of calls that can be complained about. This is the same reason they think the PI is a bad call "They were letting it happen all game long. Just look at the next set of downs!". None of this changes the fact that after a game like this he should complain through private channels and not go blathering to the media. This game wasn't some screw job were the officials never gave them a chance. The officials helped get them back into the game, but insisted they earn the W on their own. They couldn't and whining that the officials wouldn't help them get over that hump is kinda pathetic.

Westhoff is a notorious drunk. I could've sworn I saw him covertly taking nips from a flask behind the bench.

That was a horrible call lloyd basically touched him on the shoulder he didn't interfere in any way. Its a common occurrence that i never see called as PI, it was a rent a reff call.

Yeah I'm not thrilled with the refs either...how about Cromartie mugging Lloyd on on what would have been a TD pass, or Wilson on that third down after he got flagged...or Ferguson trying to trade jersey with Jones all game long.

He's just whining because he lost AGAIN and knows he's getting fired.

The problem with this is that on the previous drive, Stephen Hill committed OPI on a crucial 3rd down against Dennard, and it wasn't called. but they turn around and correctly call it on Lloyd sending the Patriots to 2 and 20?

I posted somewhere else that I think Jeff Triplette is the worst in the NFL. However, it was more "shoulda, coulda, woulda" non-calls than ticky tack or wacky calls yesterday.

However, did anyone else find it ironic that the call he should have given the Pats in the 2005 Denver playoff game (when Ben Watson punched the ball out of Champ Bailey's hands at the one and Bailey fumbled it through the endzone - should have been touchback, Pats ball on the 20; instead he gave Denver 1st & goal at the one) he called against Aaron Hernandez when he didn't see that Hernandez's knee was down at the one before the ball came out? What a doofus. Triplette stinks, but each team got equal Triplette Treatment yesterday IMO.
