So what would that mean ligament damage? Is that better or worse?

Ligament damage is generally worse. Broken bones heal quicker and heal stronger. Ligament tears when they heal are almost always never the same. Plus they take a long time to heal.

Rappaport's source says AH ankle is not broken

Good, but my biggest fear is a torn achillies. If he ends up with a high ankle sprain, he could be back bu midseason.

Depends. Broken ankle sucks, but I think it's actually a shorter recovery time than from a serious high ankle sprain. That's what I'm afraid of. If so, he'll probably be out for a while.

Looks to me like losing Hernandez messed up the gameplan, they look all messed up in terms of what they want to do. He's pretty hard to replace. I expect they'll adjust in the dressing room and come out in much better shape.

Loving the defense.

Last year's super bowls teams are stunking it up this Sunday 16th of Sep

Good to see the defense sucks chicken Littles have made a seamless transfer to the offense sucks chicken Littles. Let's see what they do in the second half. They had to totally revise their game plan on the fly with the loss of Hernandez who was obviously the focal point of the game plan going into the game.

those are jets fans in disguise dude

I don't think the play calling has been as good as it could.....hardly see Gronk or Well until LATE in the first half.....something ain't right. When you have TWO kick ass weapons like that.... got to find a way to get them involved.... not good first half by jmcd.... and OL has not been good...could be reoccurring theme this year....

Half time report -

1. The defense is going along fine. Not dominating but very very solid.

2. Chandler Jones is a true beast (as opposed to be a Jet's beast) but he can't do it alone. He more of a push up the middel for the 2nd half

3. The offense is totally out of kilter. There is too much inconsistency both in the passing game and the running game. Good stuff, followed by bad stuff. Good calls followed by very strange one.

4. It is hard to change you game plan in mid-stream

5. If Hernandez remains off IR after this, I'll be thrilled

6. Offense needs so no huddle to gain some rhythm and to take AZ out of their's That's what we'll see to start the 2nd half

I bet you anything that Hernandez has a sprain, he's strong guy so he'll be back real soon.

Why is it "chicken little" to comment on the horrendous offensive output thus far? Brady has 75 yards passing at home vs the Cards. Not the Steelers. The Cards. That is terrible.

I hope this game comes down to the Defense needing to get one big stop. Might as well test them early.

Pats best plays were screens to Ridley. Need to get back to the quick pass/screen game with Ridley and Welker. Brady having a tough time connecting on anything downfield

Trap game :) Funny, but i don't remember anyone bringing that up during the week. After all the pats have won 10 openers in a row, and have annihilated the cards in the last couple of games.

gronkowski just recently got back to speed from his high ankle sprain. I wonder if they opt for surgery for AH

Its either a bad sprain or an Achilles tear....I'm leaning towards bad sprain...

If our gameplan revolves around a single player that spells trouble going forward against good teams. If the Pats OC needs 30 minutes to adjust to a single guy going out??? Luckily the defense is doing enough to keep us in it.

Does anyone think this sputtering offense has something to do with
the Josh the OC?
There is more talent on this offense than an OC could ask for and yet there
is something very wrong.

Broken ankles more often than not come with ligament damage. So that is a plus.

Ligament damage depends on the ligament and the severity.
