Odd Man Out: Dennard, Cole, or Moore?

I think that we should keep 5 corners. In that case, on of the above players would be the odd man out out. State your cases! Obviously the fourth choice is to keep 6 corners and expect one these players to be a backup safety.

Sterling just hasn't been very good.

I think they keep Dennard and Moore. Since none of these guys are likely to play much, especially since it looks like they want to put Wilson and Ebner on the field plenty, it would be more wise to keep youth/potential over an older ST guy like Cole.

The fact that Cole didn't play tonight is either a very good or a very bad sign. My guess is that they like him but wanted to see more of Moore and Dennard.

Moore hasn't been particularly good, and wasn't again tonight.

I'd keep Dennard and Cole.

They should keep all of them.

Being a Nebraska fan and watching Dennard in college, I would really like to see them keep him. Injuries certainly haven't helped his case, but there is a tremendous upside there. We know what we are getting with Moore.

McCourty
Dowling
Arrington
Dennard
Cole

Chung
Gregory
Wilson
Ebner
Ihedigbo (?)

Moore to practice squad. Cole made it. Dennard was getting a lesson from Belichick at the end of the Giants game - I think he's gone but shadow roster.

So you think they'll run with four cornerbacks...?

Sterling Moore has not looked good in preseason.

Marquise Cole provides special teams value and Alfonzo Dennard provides future upside (Kyle Arrington will be an unrestricted free agent next year).

Cole and Dennard both make the cut; Moore gets claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts.

Something to remember about Moore is that he offers value at Safety as well as Special Teams.

There is a selfish part of me that wishes he has a bit of a down year so that maybe his number doesn't become inflated like A$ante.

In this day and age a guy like Arrington will get at least $5-6million per year :(

I am rooting for Dennard, but wasn't that impressed by him tonight. Did you see the play where he LEFT his man and freelanced towards quarterback, jumping unsuccessfully to break up the easy completion? BB was clearly perturbed and was giving him an earful while the station went to break.

Yes, he forced a fumble as well, but that was not a great individual play. Somewhere between lucky and good - he certainly wasn't making a tackle if not for the fumble.

Dennard offers no ST value, and therefore would just ride the pine, sans injury.

Cole and Moore will both make it. I'd be shocked if they don't. Moore didn't play great in games, but was decent in practice, from reports. I'm rooting for Dennard, and think he has some safety versatility. But will they keep 6 corners? I doubt it.

I can't see Dennard getting cut with the amount of potential upside.

This one can have multiple options, some of which include all 3, and some of which only include 2.

They may decide to keep 10 DB's, as some have suggested, with Moore as having the ability to play both--thus giving us 5.5 CB and 4.5 S. That would allow everyone (but a guy like Ihedigbo) to make the team.

They may keep Ihedigbo as the 5th safety, thus keeping 5 CB's. If that is the case it may come down to best 2 out of 3 between Moore, Cole, and Dennard.
