Long time Pats fan that just moved to the wilds of NJ. Due to trees in my neighborhood, I can't get DirecTV.

Does anyone have a good method of watching live Pats games without the Sunday Ticket? I'm pumped for the 2012 season and don't want to be stuck listeneing on the radio.

Thanks a lot, guys. GO PATS!!!

I'm assuming you have friends or relatives that are Pats fans living in New England (i.e., where Pats games are broadcast each week)? If so, then a Slingbox is probably your best option.

Basically it works like this: at your friend's home the main unit of the slingbox will be attached between their cable box and television; where you are you can now watch what is being broadcast there (i.e., the Pats game) on your laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc. Depending on what you have for a television you can probably watch the game on your own tv as well.

Prices start at $180 ($90 for a refurb). One great benefit of the product is that you only pay once: no recurring monthly fees.

A second option would be to go with the NFL Game Rewind, either alone or in addition to the Slingbox. With this you do not get to see games live, but you do get to watch them on demand later on at your convience. There are three options: for $35 you can watch one team (the Pats); for $40 you can watch all 32 teams as well as classic Super Bowl games; and for $70 you get all that plus the coaches film (the overhead 'all-22' angle), the playoffs, and the subscription runs through July rather than ending in January.

:welcome:

Ps3 has Sunday ticket now if you can't get directv

Does anyone with DishNetwork want to rent a poor Canadian boy an extra SD receiver? All I need is NESN, ESPN and the local Maine ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. :)

According to @DIRECTVservice, online-only subscriptions are going to be available starting September 1st, and cost $250.

They're not going out of their way to publicize it just yet, as they're trying to use Sunday Ticket to get as many people to subscribe to DirecTV, satellite and all, first.

I paid 299$ for the entire year subscription of NFL GamePass and this is my second year of subscribing to that service.

Now I dont really know how it compares to DirecTV, but I really like it. I can see all the games from 2010 to this date in HD quality, watch up to 4 games simultaneously and the pause and rewind functions work surprisingly well. NFL Network is a nice bonus as well. And the uplink is really stable and fast, at least for me in Finland, which is pretty much half way across the world. :)

Only downside for me is that watching 2-4 games simultaneosly and jumping between those games (using PiP etc) always resets the quality to the worst. And you cannot improve the quality while watching multiple games at once.

There are a bunch of ads and pop-ups, but you can watch every game. You can mitigate some of the ads by using the chrome browser with the Ad Blocker Pro add in.

I live in a area where I'm always blacked out because I live close to another team.

First row sports is great, IF YOU CANNOT get Direct TV, you can get it on your Ps3 for less, in fact, a season comes free with a pre order of Madden 25.

I have already purchased this deal. It's not really "free," because they're charging more for the special package -- $100 for the game and the Sunday Ticket combined.

Aereo is only $8 a month. They re transmit over the air channels that you watch on the internet. You have to spoof your IP Adress though so it looks like you are in the Boston market.
