Michael Griffin or Jeff Samardzija

Griffin for sure.

Neither, thank you for asking.

I work with/for a guy named Mike Griffin...I'll go with the other guy. :D

Unless Samardzija gives up his CUbs hat, no one is going to take him in the first round.

If they kid can really pitch, he would be an idiot not to play baseball, guarenteed contracts, nobody hitting you, and a much longer career.

That being said, I would love him in the second round, but not in the first.

I'm no draft guy but I watched Samardzija alot this year and he gets open, catches in crowds and never goes down on first contact.

Griffin 1st round and Samardzija 2nd round

I watched Samardzija a lot this year too,he has a lot of talent and he can be a fine receiver.

Our core group of wideouts, Caldwell, Gaffney, Brown, Jackson will remain intact and will be more than fine. Let's focus on turning Jackson into the player we hope he'll be, rather than give Brady one more player to become accustomed to.

With the exception of OL perhaps, I see this being as defensive-minded a draft as last year was offensive-minded.

Neither. I've watched Samardzija for years, and don't see a lot there for NFL prospects.

Selfishly, I want us to go the route of my buddy LaMarr Woodley. LaMarr could be a force on the outside for us for years, pressuring the QB, and using his athleticism. Plug him in Willie's old role, and I would be a happy guy.

Plus, I could make new t-shirts for the Pats...

The Pats won't look to draft another WR early this year. I think they might try to add a more proven piece through free agency. This is supposed to be a deep draft for WR's, so maybe if someone they are high on falls because of that, they might do it. I just think they'll address the secondary and linebacker first. At least I hope they do. If they go WR, it won't be for Samarjda (sp?) I don't think. At any rate, it's way to early to speculate on the draft. The combine helps shape things better.

just heard on espnradio ,Samarjda signed with the cubs

Pats needs in the draft:
1. LBs...the core group is getting old we need to infuse some young blood
2. Secondary...Harrison is getting old and i'd say its 50/50 that Samuel is back next year
3. WRs..I know Gaffney and Caldwell have been good in the postseason and I think jackson wil end up being good but anyone who thinks widouts areall of a sudden not a need are nuts IMO.
Other than that I don't see any other serious need . Pats D-Line is young and outstanding, O-Line is solid, I think we have three quality TEs (two if Graham leaves.) We could see them draft a late round QB to be 3rd string but obviously thats not a need, and RB you got Heath Evans, an underrated FB, Maroney (should be special) and Dillon (still solid although getting older). You have to love the Patiots core of players. This year was almost a sort of rebuilding year and they're in the AFC Championship. This team should be outstanding for years to come, and credit for that must go to Belichick and Pioli.

Yes. Linebackers. LaMarr Woodley. LaMarr believes the Pats have interest in him, and I've seen mock drafts with him coming here. Believe me. You want LaMarr. LaMarr as a late first rounder will be the steal of the draft. He will dominate for years on the outside. He's a great guy, team first, and a leader. He is all we could ask for in a Patriot.

What college did he go to? Probably one of those MAC schools?

Cubs sign Samardzija to five-year, $8 million deal

Notre Dame wide receiver Jeff Samardzija has decided to forego a pro football career for that of a baseball pitcher -- and he'll be well compensated for it.

The Chicago Tribune reported Friday that Samardzija had signed a five-year deal to play baseball full-time, starting in the Chicago Cubs' minor league system.

ESPN.com's Wayne Drehs reports the deal is worth $8 million, guaranteed.

I'm pretty certain he was being sarcastic given my over the top pimping of LaMarr...

Here is your new avatar. You can photoshop it to change the colors to maize and blue.
