Oh man, that is horrible. My sincerest condolences and my thoughts are with your family. If there is anything that we as a community can do please let me know how I can be involved.

Beautifully written Eulogy Dave, you are a braver man than I to be able to deliver it. Stay well and give the kids an extra hug for us.

Long-time fan of your posts Dave. My deepest condolenses on your loss. My thoughts were with you during the Kaddish yesterday.

...

I hate that I've lost my go-to person in life.

...

Dave/PJ:

In a eulogy full of beautiful words and phrases, those are the words that hit me the hardest.

I've tried four times to write a "next sentence" to follow the one above and none of them have done justice to what you have experienced. So, I turn to words that are timeless:

הַמָּקוֹם יְנַחֵם אֶתְכֶם בְּתוֹך שְׁאַר אֲבֵלֵי צִיּוֹן וִירוּשָלַיִם

Oh man, more tears this morning. I just got back from the funeral of my son's best friend, and young man I've known for 20 years and had a beer with not two weeks ago. Dan died in his sleep at the age of 29, for no apparent reason. My son and he were in a group of a dozen guys who've been very tight since high school. Dan was the second one of them to pass in the last three months.

And then to read this. So sorry, and I'm glad you shared it.

Dave,

Thinking of you and your kids today on Mothers Day. It must be so hard, and again you have my thoughts, prayers and sympathy.

Be strong, my friend.

Tim

I'm so sorry.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. This is heart breaking.

I just read the eulogy. Amazing, painful, and beautiful.

המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים

My heart goes out to you Dave.

May she always be remembered fondly and may you and your children live on with her spirit.

Thank you Hedy. Thank you for being my partner on this wild ride. I hope that it is beautiful where you are. I will love you forever.

That was hard to read, but what a fantastic tribute! I don't know you personally or your wife, but you have shown all of us how special she was to you and your children and how you, your family and the world have lost a truly great person!

She is still with you, she is in your children.
My Best To You And Them, In Time You Will Heal.

There are a lot of great post on this thread. But this one, to me, is the best.

Dave, thank you for posting the Eulogy. Here on the West Coast (Vancouver) it has been beautiful the last few days. I woke up yesterday with plans to do some work in the yard and then watch some sports on TV (hockey game and Celtics). While having my morning coffee I read this thread and your eulogy and it really touched home with me. I'm in my 30's with a wife and little girl and I can't imagine life without my wife by my side. After reading the eulogy I decided to forget about the yard and the sports and I took my wife and girl out to enjoy the sunshine, then dropped my daughter off at Grandma's and my wife and I enjoyed a nice lunch together on our own. Only God knows how long we'll be with our loved ones and this thread was a reminder to enjoy the time that we have.

May God bless you and your family in this time of grieving

Dave,

Hopes and prayers to you and yours.

My condolences on your incredible loss of an incredible woman. May you and your children find strength in each other. Your family is in my prayers.

Dave:

I rarely post, but read this board all the time and I've always enjoyed your posts. My condolences on your loss. That was a beautiful eulogy, and I hope that you and your family find comfort in the times ahead.

Thank you Hedy. Thank you for being my partner on this wild ride. I hope that it is beautiful where you are. I will love you forever.

Dude.......... I have to say. I'm not often emotionally moved by mere words posted by someone Ion a sports messageboard fan site. In fact, I never have been......... before now that is.

Just friggen beautiful man. I only wish that there was something I could do to wipe away your sadness and that of your children. I know I'm not alone in that.

As painful as this has been for you, I want to thank you for sharing it with us. Harry Boy is finally right for once. ( ;) ), Hedy will live on inside of your children.

Peace.

Oh! What an incredible loss for you and your kids, Dave. What a woman you married and how lucky you have been. Although luck may not be on your side right now, you sure seem to know that you had it better for 15 years than most do in a lifetime. I hope your sorrow is tempered by your great memories and thank you for sharing them with us.

Hi Everyone.

I don't know why I am posting this here but it feels right and Ian said it's OK. This place is kind of like another family to me.

My wife passed away on Tuesday night in Boston. She was 36. We have 3 kids, 14, 12, and 8 years old.

We're all very devastated, of course. But we're hanging in there and the kids have been amazing. I'm also lucky to have several sets of supportive relatives, friends, and colleagues. So we're going to work our way through this eventually.

I just wanted to let you all know.

Dave

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
