The only way the players would feel as bad as the fans is if the NFL would fine each player on the losing team $2,000,000 for losing the game.

The Pats did what probably every other losing Super Bowl team has done since Super Bowl I. People are taking this stuff too seriously. Kraft probably spent tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars for this party win or lose.

I mean Wes Welker was in tears after the game. Brady was clearly upset after the game. Because they went to this party and tried to get their mind off of the game for a few hours, now we think they don't care. This will likely be the last time these guys see their teammates in a social setting for several months and for players who are leaving the team even longer.

I guarantee you that most if not all the players are feeling like crap today and not from the hangover. For many or most of the players, this loss will be stuck with them for a long, long time. Who cares if they got their minds off the game for a few hours.

How many have got laid off of their job and gone out to drown their sorrows and party...

More than a few I bet :rocker:

First, do you want them to go home and cry? Please. Second, if you like Gronk because of his knucklehead, don't give a **** persona, then this comes with it. They've been busting *** since, what, July? I am sure they are dying to blow off some steam. Whatever. Is it insensitive to the fans? Maybe. Are we being a little sensitive? Yeah. The guys are human, and not football playing robots that BB puts on the field for the game and back into a closet after.

...and I'll add...stories like this are why Brady doesn't go out. No privacy. I say let them be.

So they partied last night? Big deal. Those guys gave a great effort yesterday and came up a few plays short. What they do afterwards is none of my business and certainly had no effect on the outcome, and it has no bearing on how I view yesterday. For those who feel entitled to judge, get a life outside of analyzing others on the internet.

You learn a lot about the players in defeat. :)

As I live and breathe, athletes partying after a game. They should be home crocheting.

I forgot that workers at the office or factory never go out, blow off steam and get hammered after a tough day at work. Never. Ever.

Here's what nobody on this forum understands about athletes. These guys are with each other 10-16 hours out of every day for 6-7 months out of the year. When that comes to an end your only outlet is with the very same people you spent all that time together with. You can see this however you want but sometimes people party to pass pain.

How many of us here have really bad days at work where nothing goes right and you decide to go home, shower and go to a club, casino ect: to blow off the tension?.

Thats exactly what these guys have done...Kudos to them, they are more than just athletes, they are workers for a company.

There had to be SO much steam that HAD to be let off last night maybe it was best some of the guys DID go out lol. Each person does what they need to do; Matty Man doesn't strike me as someone who deals with things passively if you know what I mean lol. He probably wanted to ram his fist through a wall-everyone's different. And gronk's massive energy-hard to picture HIM just sitting around the hotel til morning. God knows nobody was sleeping THAT night:eek:

Plus I don't know about Matt but Gronk's single-Brady had Gisele, BB had Linda, Wes had his fiance, etc.-go out for a few drinks and if you start having a good time then go with it! What should you do, STOP having a good time and leave? The music was obviously good LOL ;)

A loss stays with the players for their lifetime, but it is easier for the players to deal with a loss, they played their hearts out and did all they could to win. Fans OTOH can't do anything about it other than watch passively. That is why we obsess in a way players don't.

Play hard, party hard :D

I bet Mr. Kraft wishes the party he arranged was use to celebrate a win, but they deserve it none the less.

These guys will have this SB held over them for a long time. They are accountable. When they get back to work, BB will have plenty of film waiting for them. Being able to keep it in perspective is part of the mental toughness that's needed.

Time to decompress. Party on...

Lost a lot of respect for Light. He should know better. Gronk is young but it's just not a good look when you're out partying after losing the biggest game of your life.

Welker was probably crying in a corner all night while these *******s were getting ****faced like they won something. Pretty embarrassing.

Odds of Welker crying all night? 60-1
Odds of Welker relieving the stress by bonking Ms. Burns? 1-1

I'll go with the even money favorite here

Hey it's their life, but as a fan its a bit of a kick in the teeth.

I told you guys this once before...this is a business not Madden...these guys are rich whether they win the Super Bowl or not.

Sure its nice to win a title for bragging rights but it does not change their lifestyle.

They did not go home and cry in their million dollar bed like some of you expected...I assure you that.

The sooner you guys realize this is a business much more than a game, the more you understand that most players are not going to be suicidal when they lose like fans are.

Yes. Thanks for educating the rest of us, geniuses.

And as far as I'm concerned, anybody who questions the dedication, commitment, or passion of Gronk, Matt Light, or any of the REST of this extraordinary Band of Brothers ~ just because they got lit up and blew off some steam!! Heaven FORBID!! ~ seriously needs to have their head examined.

***

It has been a privilege, gentlemen...And on this, the first day of the 2012 FootBall Season, I declare that I am intensely looking forward to waging ANOTHER year of Battle with y'all. The pleasure of doing so with a team ASTONISHINGLY dedicated to their Craft and to each other ~ and to US!! ~ is more than I ever dared expect.

I would be doing the same thing if I were in their shoes.

Absolutely ... especially if you knew you played with 110% of what you had. Their grieving will be their off season work for next year as it should and will be.

I don't really think this is a big deal.....but I don't remember Bruschi, Rodney, ect.... partying after 2007. Just saying........................

I completely concur on your point about the "business" side of this and that these guys still cash big checks win or lose and still get good off season gigs; most of them are probably already booked up through training camp with Golf Tournaments and corporate events of all stripes for good cash.

But I think you're wrong to assume that going out and partying means that they aren't seriously affected by the loss and feeling pretty bad about it.

Single guys having a few adult beverages and enjoying relatively anonymous female, ahem, companionship and doing so along with a few of their buddies who are pretty much the only ones who really "get" what they're going through all seems like part of a pretty healthy grieving process to me.
