Superbowl Anxiety..

I can not remember a Superbowl with the Patriots that I was so nervous! I am excited, but I want to see a crushing of the Giants, just to shush everyone else that will be at the party

Wen't downstairs and made coffee, it was then I noticed that a bottle of Merlot I received as a gift for Christmas had exploded all over the walls and ceiling of the dining room. Managed to kill 2 1/2 hours cleaning that up, truly the gift that keep on giving.

Not sure what this means, but it has been an interesting start to the day.

I think I managed a half hour of sleep last night. It's more excitement than anxiety though. I already have mapped out my strategies to avoid facebook/TV/internet chatter/fans/etc in case we lose.

Kappy's in Medford is packed! I was there half an hour before it opened, ghost town. Got there shortly after, and it's musical chairs in the parking lot.

My point is I'm starting to see the anticipation build up around town for the game, and that's raised my anxiety level up a notch. Still feel good about today, but man, the butterflies are starting to do a number on my stomach!

It is now 2:04, the day has passed pretty good.. thank god the game does not start @ 8:30 or 9:00 PM

This is my first real Superbowl with the Pats.(Didn't know anything about football in 07) I guess that's why I'm not really anxious. I just feel like this is the game where everything falls into place. I'm excited.

Yes. Newman is on his own. Bogey is close. Behind them come Jack Nicholson and Donald Sutherland. And there are a few Brits in the hunt -- Dirk Bogarde, Nicol Williamson, David Warner, Albert Finney for example. I'd put McQueen a couple of lengths back of them for the reason you say.

My father is in Italy right now. Hes going skiing then going to visit family in Ischia! I have a little anxiety. I am more anxious to get the game started than nervous. I am glad that my son will be able to experience the Patriots in the superbowl. LETS WIN IT FOR MYRA!!!!

I'm invited to a party tonight. I normally watch the games at home with patsfans in one window and Gamepass in the other. I fear If I go to the party I jinx the team.

Stay home, less distractions...

My anxiety is combined with a boatload of anger.

Anger that's developed since the Big Blue Douchebags started flapping their gums.

There would be no greater Poetic justice than a beatdown.

I feel more anger and disdain for this Giants team than any SB opponent we faced.

4:00 here on the east coast...how is everyone making out...gaining steam now, kinda sucks it will be over soon so lets enjoy the remaining hours and again be appreciative we have a great team...

I find getting to know the other team, threw old documentaries, SB seasons etc..helps me rid high levels of hatred. Makes losses easier to deal with.

Except the jets, nothing cures that feeling.

Normally I would say: follow your heart. But you are evidently Irish and so you have a duty to the rest of us never to refuse a party. Console yourself. It's part of your heritage -- along with luck. Do you have a four-leaf clover handy? Or something suitable to kiss. Be sure to wear your jersey.

P.S. If you have a laptop, why not take it along? Or are the parties you go to ones where you might not see it again? In which case, reconsider my advice above.

Ugh, still three hours and change and I've got the shakes! I want this one so badly!

The first three BB-era Bowls I approached with an "It'd sure be nice" mindset. The fourth found me going from a calm expectation to a dull acceptance, never any real emotional extreme. But, for any of a couple reasons I might come up with, I REALLY want this one!
