How come NO Mediots are talking about how lucky the Giants were?

When a team is hated and they win, they're "just lucky."
When a team is loved and they win, They're a "team of destiny".

Please let the media piss all over the Pats the next two weeks. It will just add fuel to the fire. Considering the game will probably be very close, the extra large chip on the team's collective shoulder is 100% welcome.

Re: How come NO Mediots are talking about....

Haha, some of you are so delusional. The Patriots generally get some damn good favoritism from ESPN. There's a reason why people here in Michigan call it the East Coast Sporting and Programming Network. Time to get a grip on reality.
I'm yet to see that evidence. If you'd be so kind as to present it.

The Patriots are applauded in circumstance because they continue to win. That's it.

For Heaven's sake, TURN OFF THE TELEVISION, already!!

For your own sanity if nothing else!!

Catch up on reading or movies or something! Or post here.

Just avoid the media for the next two weeks and you'll be fine. :)

This. I don't watch ESPN, nor have I for years. In my opinion, the channel sucks. I also don't listen to sports radio. I don't need to hear endless talk about "what if" scenarios and imaginary trades that will never take shape. The only place I get my Pats news is the incomparable Mike Reiss who seems to be one of the last great journalists on the planet (might sound dramatic, but I love the guy).

Though I am fighting nerves about it like all of you, we have to try to relax and enjoy it. This is THE era for sports in the northeast. Enjoy while it's still here!

A more accurate description would probably be that Evans was lazy with ball security and allowed Moore the opportunity to knock the ball free by not taking better care, but that's not as easy to say, and it's not as 'sexy'.

Thats true, a better reciever would have put the ball away better but another aspect not talked about is that the Pats practice that play by Moore everyday in practice, they practice swatting balls away so when he was in position his instincts took over since hes done it a 100 times.

Because even before the fumble it was fairly obvious that the 49er offense was not going to put up any more points. The 49er QB was playing like Tebow at the end of that game - he was frigging horrible.

Both the Pats and the Giants got lucky. Strange culmination of events. It's funny but both games should have gone to OT, now that is an entertaining championship day of football. It's been a great year in the nfl thus far. One more game, should be fun.

The Pats were only lucky that Evans didn't hold on...The Giants were lucky that they got two fumbles from the same player plus two dropped interception. Lets see who was luckier? The Pats lead for most of the game and were minus 2 in TOs.

The simple answer is that they're too busy crowning Eli the greatest ever. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the two ST blunders by the same player that gave the Giants 10 points. It has everything to do with Eli's magnificent play and he is soon to be the greatest of all time.

I call it the Empire State Programming Network. Fits better.

I didn't see anyone say greatest of all time. Dilfer & Hoge said he's the best playing right now, though.

of course it took years of practice and planning for the ravens to make Brady miss Gronk when no one was within 20 yards of him, that was not luck on the ravens part it was by design.

Re: How come NO Mediots are talking about....

I'll answer the OP's question with another question:

In a season when 21 of 32 teams had losing streaks of three games or more, and 30 teams lost at least one game by double digits, how do they ask if the coach of one of the two teams that did neither has been "passed by"?

Didnt the Giants lose 4 games in a row this season?

i actually can't stand ESPN.. There is a lot of Hatriots over there.. and thats fine but I find the product unappealing for the most part so i don't watch. The Patriots do get accolades for winning but they show as little as they can when it comes to one of the most successful franchises in the last 10 years.

I can understand though.. I mean people around the country are probably sick of us but then again didn't the Ravens and the Pats game break some viewing records? they did like a 29.9 rating or something ridiculous.

I am not jsut saying thisbecause I am a pats fan but when I see coverage for the Patriots.. it almost seems forced on espn. It honestly does not bother me but I just really get that feeling.. And if we could measure the amount of coverage and press the GMEN get over the Patriots in the next 2 weeks I would be very interested to see how that all plays out. I am sure there are a lot of NY fans in the media and working at ESPN.

Giants thoughts?

Is it me or are the Patriots getting killed for a missed FG and not given enough credit for the plays they made. Everyone is saying the better team lost but no one is talking about the 49ers-Giants game. I know the Giants are hot and all but Eli has to be the luckiest QB of all times. No one is talking about the blown fumble call in the Giants redzone under 2 mins (Huge Play that went virtually unmentioned at all that would have ended the gameif the right call is made), or the numerous near INTs he threw. I give him credit but he did not play a excellent game like the mediot are portraying SF just didn't take advantage of the many mistakes he made. Let alone the unforced play that actually got them to OT thet without the lose (the ball hitting Williams knee). Yet all you will hear is Brady played horrible because the Ravens made 2 spectacular plays.

I'm not saying it will be easy to beat the G-Men but lets put it in perspective he played bad in SB42 with a similar performance with numerous dropped ints (just like yesterday) or balls that just float in the air to nobody in particular and lands just out defenders reach (just like yesterday) but if we take advantage of these opportunities WHICH WILL BE THERE and block there front 4 we win it's really as simple as that.

If the kicker can't make a 32 yard field goal to win the game, they don't deserve to win. If the ball was positioned wrong that's just sloppy.

If Flacco's gets a ton of yardage and completes every other pass but fails to outscore the opponent, his team doesn't deserve to win. He wasted his time with the ball.

If Ray Rice is only averaging 3.2 yards a carry, doesn't get over 70 yards, has 1 reception and zero TD's, his team doesn't deserve to win especially when the running game can't produce a score.

If a receiver can't hold onto a TD pass to win the game, he shouldn't be awarded a trophy. No luck involved.

garbage stories down playing the team are fine by me. Ravens should'v won they're better by leaps and bounds and we get by on 3 leaf clovers.

Ranting sorry, I'm done

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but who do you mean by "no one" when talking about Bradshaw's fumble?

I have seen tons of coverage of it on ESPN - it was debated at length on shows like Around the Horn, PTI, NFL Today, etc. It's been covered as much as anything in either game yesterday.

Re: Giants thoughts?

Is there an echo in here??? That is exactly what I was getting at! Thanks Dougie!

I live in the Tristate area, and the radio hosts talk a lot about the NE offense being match up against the Giants defense. They talk as if NE didn't just play the Ravens defense. Every comparison made matches up the 2011 Giants defense against the Giants 2007 defense, in an effort to claim this Giants defense is better than the 2007 team, and as a result NE has match up issues.

If they want to compare defenses, compare this Giants defense against the Ravens defense.

How about:

Brady throws 2 INTs, and Woodhead fumbles the ball. 3 turn overs and the Ravens still can't find ways to score enough to win? Now people say Flacco played good enough to best the sports writers opinions that he can't carry his team to a win.

Give Brady 3 turn overs and you know Brady will win.

The Pats defense played really well, they carried the team to a win.

IF the Ravens won the game, the story would be all about the turn overs leading to a great victory for the Ravens defense. But some how that same story isn't covered for the Pats, which should have been. "The Pats overcome 3 turn overs to best the Ravens, the Pats defense is getting hot at the right time."
