Tons of NFL ready talent on the field Monday night. Some important playmakers to watch:

The Honey Badger CB LSU - In three different games in which LSU trailed, the honey badger started them back on the winning path by scoring on a punt return. Amazing! This past season,he was the best non-QB college player in the country.

Claiborne LSU CB - a true shut down corner. With him and the honey badger in the third tier of the LSU defense, the LSU D Lineman can pin their ears back and fly to the QB on third and long.

Richardson RB Alabama - Complete beast, power, size and speed to boot. Alabama needs to feed LSU's smaller defense a steady prescription of this pain inducing RB.

Upshaw - OLB Alabama - With Jefferson expected to get more snaps at QB in this rematch,I expect LSU to run more option outside. I great game by Upshaw would disrupt the LSU offense.

Hightower - ILB Alabama - He has to make good reads and fill in order to help shut down the LSU running game and force LSU to put the ball in the air.

Montgomery - DE LSU - With Alabama OT Jones playing on a bad ankle last game, Montgomery had a wonderful game. Now Jones is fully healed. Can Montgomery still be that disruptive force in the Alabama backfield? PS: He is still on my mock as the Pats first, first round pick in April. He needs to add some weight, but this kid could be fantastic in our defense as a pass rusher.

Montgomery is going back to LSU for his Senior season. FYI.

Alabama really shut down Randle in the first match up. It will be interesting if they scheme to get him off early to open up the run a bit. I don't think LSU will be able to run against Bama just like the first game.

Don't remember the game, but saw a game earlier this year where the whole LSU defensive backfield was standing on the sideline as a group trash talking the opposing team in pre-game warm-ups.

Just struck me as not Patriot material.

Tho, they are extremely talented.

What about Dre kirkpatrick and Barron?

Well Mathieu isn't draft eligible.

More guys to watch are Alabama's Michael Williams (TE #89) and Marquis Maze (WR #4), and LSU's Brandon Taylor (S #18) and Rueben Randle (WR #4)

The only realistic name is Dant'a's.

Dante meet Dant'a.

He's the only realistic draft pickup of the names you've picked for us, Ochmed.

I'd love to hear your explanation for your comments..

Not much to say, other than I think Hightower will last until midway to late in the first, so he's a legitimate prospect for us to consider where we're picking.

Isn't it true, however, that these two college teams have better secondaries than ours? Or is that just the injuries talking?

I think Alabama C William Vlachos could be a good pickup as well in the 3rd-4th round.

Just watching Alabama-Tennessee on ESPNplayer and I'm loving pretty much everything Dont'a Hightower is doing. And he's doing the things received wisdom says he can't; dropping into coverage and defending the pass in the short middle, rushing the QB with some real burst (3 QB hurries) both from the edge and the middle. So along with Mark Barron, it will be Hightower I'll be watching closely tonight.

Hightower was even better as a sophmore I think he played hurt last year. He is a beast and a great talent and would be a great pick.

I would rather see the LSU program win. But, I think Bama wins tonight. I'll say 24-10. I feel the losing team in these rematches has an edge. You show your guys what didn't work. Then, how they can make it work. I'm thinking of a couple rematches in the Florida/Florida St series. Gators blew a big lead in 94 reg. season and tied that game. FSU beats em in the Sugar Bowl. 2 years later in a 1 vs 2 matchup. Noles win. Gators demolish them in MNC Game in 96. Back in my day. Nebraska finally beats Switzer and the Sooners in 78. Has to play them in a rematch and are down 31-10 and get two meaningless td's. UCLA with **** Vermeil getting handled lose to Ohio St at home. Upset the top-ranked Bucks in the Rose Bowl. Oklahoma defeats Michigan in the Orange Bowl to win the MNC. First time Michigan or any Big 10 team played in a major non Rose Bowl in quite a while.

Georgia's defense held LSU to 7 straight 3 and outs in the first half of the SEC title game. Bama has a much better defense than Georgia. I think Bama defense stifles LSU. Won't give up the big play either. Trent Richardson will be the difference.

Conventional wisdom says Alabama give the smaller LSU defense a huge serving of Richardson, but the LSU defense is probably the faster in the history of college football, so that limits Richardson to between the tackles.

I think Jefferson will have a monster game for LSU.

Claiborne seems like the real deal. the Patriots should seriously consider trading up.

It's true that combined these two secondaries will have every player drafted in the top 4 rounds, with most being top 2 rounders.

Both secondaries have more talent than the Pats version, yes.

I'm not worried about who to watch in this game. There are way too many players to have to keep an eye on. This is a must see game and I'm just going to enjoy watching it for entertainment purposes. Go 'Bama! Cover the 2.5. Too bad their FG kickers suck *****. It sucks that a game of this magnitude could be effed up by a couple of bad kickers. That's where LSU has a HUGE edge.

I'll be watching Lester.

Put Kevin Norwood on the watch list for 2013/2014. Kid's a player.

...and dear lord does Hightower look awesome. First time watching him. I don't care about the height. Cat can ball.
