The 2011 season: The Jets Suck (merged a lot)

Yes the Jets need to win plus get losses by the Bengals, Raiders and Titans.

Rex's Xmas wish list 9/1/11.

Dear Santa I want;
To win the division- bag of coal
Beat the Patriots twice-bag of coal
Beat the Giants: bag of coal
Make the playoffs and win the SB:: double bag of coal on the way

You missed:

Someone other than the Jets to beat the Patriots. Heaping bag of coal.

Please NFL we aren't good enough to win by ourselves (even though we're going to the Super Bowl, yes-siree no doubt about it), so please someone beat those darn Pats. Please? My team can't do this on their own!

What a worthless piece of **** Ryan and that whole team is. Jets fans talking about how Jacobs is classless. Obviously the concept of irony is foreign to the knuckle-draggers of there.

Oh and I wish Rex had caught Jacobs and gotten his fat, smug ass kicked. Now I'm forced to root for the Giants next week so another Ryan can go the hell home with no playoffs.

Well, Rex..... The fat lady is warming up.

It's funny that Jets fans think all their problems is because Brian Schottenheimer is the OC. As if they fire him, all their problems on offense, defense, and special teams will be fixed. I agree Schotty is not a very good OC, but he is working with a limited QB who has a lot of weaknesses to hide.

The fact of the matter is that the reason the Jets are 8-7 right now is because they only played seven teams with winning records this year (losing to six of them). The Jets are an average to below average team that is good enough enough to beat bad teams, but cannot beat good or even average ones.

A lot of people were worried that the Jets were going to make the playoffs and do damage and even beat the Pats. I knew the only shot they had/have to get in was to back in and even if they do, they are likely to be one and done. Now it looks like they have little or no shot to get in. I thought they could very well lose their last two games and I would bet on Miami right now. They are better than the Jets even if the record doesn't reflect that.

But I thought Tom Moore was going to fix all of their offensive woes. I can't keep up with all of the excuses any more.

Love reading Jacobs comments on fatty

And reading those forums...awesome

This is an entertaining one.

I can see him quitting on us, just resigning, getting his post-coaching TV broadcasting career underway.

See, right now his agent has him pegged as the next John Madden. The next big broadcaster, video game guy, national commercials, the works. If Ryan sticks around and spirals down to the suck abyss, he's lost millions and he's lost his future. Right now, he's got a team at a crossroads. The Mangini guys are aging and being set aside, he's left with his own lousy draft picks and a bunch of spoiled old free agents.

Do I think it will happen? Not really. But I wouldn't be surprised. Rex Ryan isn't built for a struggling, average, failing team. That's what we are.

Sanchez isn't the problem. He's an extremely average quarterback who's being asked to carry an offense. He can't help being limited...Schottenheimer can help not having Sanchez throw 60 times in a game, when Sanchez isn't capable of succeeding like that.

You can win with an average, game-manager at quarterback. That's what Sanchez is, but he needs to be utilized that way. Designing your offense as though he's an elite passer is a surefire way to sabotage the offense.

12 days of Christmas, JEST style...

On the twelfth day of Christmas Rex Ryan gave to me...

Twelve men a-fielding
Eleven Jets a-crying
Ten yards not making
Nine holes a-playing
Eight wins a season
Seven points not scoring
Pick six a throwing
Five imaginary rings
Four (Favre)'s not here
Three months til Combine
Two-hand touch on Jacobs
And no games to watch in January

MERRY REXMAS JEST FANS!!!!

The Jets offense played like our high-priced free agent WR pick up who has done less all season than Welker did in the second half of the Dec. Miami game. They stunk.

Why would a bag of coal want to be associated with the Jets? Unlike the Jets, the bag of coal is useful.

According to NFL.COM the Jets are still in the hunt for a playoff spot..

According to NFL.COM the Jets are still in the hunt for a playoff spot..

They are. if jets beats miami and baltimore beats cinci (most likely to happen), san diego beats oakland they are in the playoffs but if the titans beat huston they have the tiebreaker over the jets and gets their spot in the playoffs.

And Wrecks is still in the hunt for fresh feet to lick. So what.

My favorite response on this thread from Jurassic era Jet fan SAR 1...

I know what I see, and what I see is:

1. A team that no longer respects it's head coach and doesn't play hard for him.

2. A coach that can't get a solid performance from his team without resorting to bizarre emotional ploys, and those ploys running out of gas too.

3. An impatient owner with a history of a short-fuse and an itchy trigger finger.

4. A crafty GM with a history of questionable personnel moves that is teflon.

5. An irritable fanbase that got close to the Super Bowl and has no intention of sitting through another rebuild.

6. A still-dominant obstacle in the AFC East that doesn't seem to age or regress.

7. The shelf-life of the average NFL coach at 4 years.

You add all this up, there's something possible there. But more than that, it's Rex Ryan himself- can you see him running a team that will go 5-11 at best for the next two years? Patiently taking a step back, playing the role of the patient teacher? That's not him. He's a win-now head coach. So the minute we become a rebuild, I don't see him wanting to be here or being a good fit either.

SAR I
