This was a tale of 2 halves.

The O-line was visibly in disarray from the get go, with Light not suiting up do to an ankle injury suffered before the game. Then Mankins going down made the situation worse. It was clear that Miami feasted on the uncertainty that the O-line presented Brady..

I don't know what was said and when it was said, but it was clear by the start of the 2nd half that the O-line of Solder, Thomas, Connolly, Waters, and Cannon had gotten their act together because Brady was relatively untouched for the 2nd half. And that allowed this team to come storming back thanks to the defense capitalizing on Miami screw-ups.. First the mis-handled snap by Moore that Wilfork fell on and then the bad pass by Moore that McCourty picked off.

I have to give the TEAM a ton of credit for it's MENTAL TOUGHNESS. Even when they are down, they KNOW that they can beat the other team and have been doing so. And, this has been missing the past few years. Unlike some teams that just give up and go through the motions, this team has been making things happen, both offensively and defensively.

Ayup.

Time to book that charter to Indy yet?

Aside from the positive emotions of JUST seeing Cannon on the field, The fact is for his first sustained AND technicly sound action he deserves TWO THUMBS UP!

Great come from behind win, great mental toughness, got the win, Go Pats.

Merry Christmas indeed.

I tell you what, this team, besides figuring out what Miami was up to, and then correcting so as to counter it, simply wore the Dolphins down.

When the Offense went to the hurry-up, the Dolphins had trouble after trouble keeping up with them.

This is, absolutely, a TEAM victory, and it shows what they can do when they keep playing full-speed for the full 60 minutes.

Added bonus: The JESTS getting their butts kicked. The safety at the end was icing on the cake. :rocker:

Ups: Ridley averages 4.9 and and the OL protects.
Downs: McCourty consistently beaten over the top.
Keep your fingers crossed for Mankin's Knee.

Great day for the Pats

I'm so freakn excited. Opportunity to clinch top seed next week!

and JESTS lose!!!

the health of the o line is key... and the play of devin mccortey is key going forward

Christmas Eve...you are home...the kids, the wife, the girlfriend and family, last minute present shopping, extraneous stress...that's when you get the "space aliens discover football" first halves. The Dolphins were committed and focused...the Patriots looked sluggish and disinterested...was it four or five straight 3 and outs? Brady threw the ball continually at the ground...maddening to watch.

And then they played a second half.

and they never should have even been challenged at the end. All out blitz up ten? Falling for a double move that leads to a 45 yard gain...matador defense in the end zone on Bess?

No Light....Slater playing D....Solder playing LT for the first time in the NFL....most teams would have mailed it in...proud of the job the coaches did to get this team focused in the 2nd half...I'm sure BB feels a sense of relief...this was a classic trap game

I sure hope we pay Welker this offseason.

19 targets 12 catches 138 yards

Once again the offense struggles early, makes adjustments and finishes strong. I am loving that trend and ability, shows the improvements in BOB's work. It's very encouraging as we look towards the playoffs.

That said, we need to be better for the playoffs, you won't get away with 1st halves like this against the top teams.

We very much respect what your boys accomplished today. The mental toughness NE showed today means they are ready for the playoffs.
Fins D never let up and you battled back. Brady's throw for the 1st TD while being tackled was epic to get you back into the game.
Your team will use this win if they get behind in the playoffs, and it will serve them well.
Really nice win guys, all the best , so proud, merry xmass.

try not to see this negatively. I think this is an extremely positive win for your team.

Anyone else a little annoyed by the officials that first PI call was complete crap Welker was getting mailed all first half.

I know the officials are what they are but they just seen really bad this year overall

Team showed some balls to come back and Mayo made another huge play - is he becoming the PLAYMAKER that he SHOULD be given his high draft position? Hope so. I'll never get how Brady can look so terrible and then look so good....Good to have that bye, now lets wrap up #1 seed - there's NO WAY they can lose their first playoff game two years in a row as the #1 seed.....is there??????????

McCourty was beaten twice.. The other times they blew it. And McCourty wasn't beaten by Hartline. The refs blew that call as that ball was no where close to Hartlinel. And that moron Eagle doing the announcing was talking out his rear end with the idea that Hartline somehow tipped that ball.

Yeah.. I agree with you. Both PIs were complete Crap, in all honesty. Moore was going away from where the ball was and it landed 5 yards away as well. There was no way Moore could have caught that ball.

Jetsies probably make the playoffs if they win next week. Interesting rematch of last year. I just hope Pats don't choke.

Is it suddenly a given that the Jets will advance past the wild card round?

Nope. McCourty was burned twice int eh 1st half and once in the second half on big completions. The PI was a stupid play even if you have a different opinion than the refs. McCourty never should have given him the opportunity to make that call. Go look up the number of big plays he has allowed.
