Is this sarcasm?

Nope, beat 'em both in vert and 20 yard shuttle. He had a 1.7 10-yard split which is good for a DE.

think they should have kept Moore despite Carter coming. I like the way Moore plays

Markell Carter & Sterling Moore? :D

Help at DE/OLB and safety for the last couple of games and playoff run.

Is this sarcasm?

This is a serious fail.

After all, this is the logical choice of transactions.

I'm really trying not to get too hyped from a player on the PS, but have the Pats ever had a prospect that fit all the ideal measurables for a OLB?

Can't wait to see him play!

Doesn't make any sense cutting him. He was pretty good and it's not like they need another spot with carter going on IR.

Why would they bring back Sterling Moore?

If they give Markell carter a roster spot, I wouldn't be surprised to see them cut him the next week. That's how they roll.

Sterling Moore is on the practice squad now. They may bring him back for a look in the last 2 games before the playoffs...why not? It's surely better than having to use Sergio Brown, isn't it?

If they do choose to give M.Carter a roster spot and then cut him the next week, it's because they feel that's what best for the team. The overall team results are hard to argue with.

That's only how they roll with players they are sure won't be claimed off of waivers. Since Carter was just given a raise to not go to another team. I'm fairly certain he would be claimed.

I didn't know he was on the PS. Their personnel decisions do leave room to be questioned, IMO. Especially with their safeties or lack of them.

I wonder if they plan to just stick Markell Carter out there with a jersey that just says "Carter" on the back, hoping the other team decides to double team him?

No doubt. Hopefully they can get this yr's version somewhat healthy and stable, so we can finally make another run to the SB. The lack of adequate depth and talent in the secondary this yr is certainly very questionable, I agree.

I'd expect next yr to be a lot different, with some better depth + free agent targeting in the secondary, much like the DL was from this yr.

In the meantime, they have to stick with what they have; so all we can hope for is the best.

I have to LOL. Reading these posts about Carter, reminds me of how everyone was GIDDY over Taylor Price return to the active roster..."ooooo iI can wait..Price gives me goosebumbs"
Let's see first if Carter is activated and then, if he see's the field on Sat.

It wouldn't shock me a bit if BB took over a roster spot. Love the way he keeps other teams guessing.

I've seen some of Markell Carter's comments on twitter; he comes across as an extremely serious, focused and dedicated person.

For a little background on him, check out this piece that Jeff Howe wrote a couple weeks ago. He certainly seems like the kind of player that would be easy to root for.

Patriots Rookie Markell Carter Draws Inspiration From Sister Battling Lupus - New England Patriots - NESN.com

"You want to become the best that you can," Carter said. "The whole football IQ part, that's a huge role. Football IQ is just as important as being able to rush the passer. You can have all of the ability in the world, but if you don't really understand the defense as a whole, you're going to lack a little bit. You might still be able to be effective and stuff like that knowing your role and your role only, but I feel like the more you know, you'll be better as a person. You'll be more confident in what you're doing. You'll be able to play fast. You'll be able to move around without even thinking. Knowing the whole defense is a huge, huge difference and a huge gain."

I think you are reading WAY too much into what people are saying about Carter. Also, there is a big difference between Carter and Price. Carter has won several of the black jerseys given out as best practice player. People have guarded optimism. That's about it..
