Lets be realistic.... Do you think we'll go far in the playoffs?

I have absolutely no idea what to think of this Patriot team. They're flawed and they're unpredictable....like the rest of the NFL.....and they could be one and done or they could win the SB.
The NFL is wide open this year (not buying the Packers are unbeatable spin at all) and that makes it so much fun.

Everyone seems to be writing off the Chargers, they're only a game back.

I think it's also very possible to see the Pats playing in the AFC Championship Game.

I almost feel like a Jet fan saying this.....but simply making it to the AFCCG this year would actually excite me.

The difference is...once there I like the odds of winning the next 2 games with our QB

Nope. It's one and done for the Patriots.

Recent history (0-2 in their last two playoff games, at home) tells me this Pats team has a bit of a monkey to get off its back.

Now, if the team gets a bye, they only need two wins to get to the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl, anything can happen.

Every team has holes. Right now, I think the Pats have as a good a chance of winning the conference as any other AFC contender.

Given the proviso that ANY team in the playoffs can beat another. The Saints/Seahawks game last season shows us that. The only team I fear at this moment in time would be Houston in the AFC and the Packers/Saints coming out of the NFC. Anyone else gets my RESPECT, but not my 'fear"

We would have to be NYG lucky to do well in these playoffs.

McCourty is injured and has somewhat regressed.

Plus all the inexperience in the side.
That being said, with each game their experience doubles, triple then quadruples.

someone needs a math lesson. But I agree with you, there is no telling what happens in the playoffs. I say just get in and hope for the best. It seems like the Patriots do better in the playoffs when their season is filled with adversity. Both seasons the Patriots had no real adversity ( last year and the infamous " O7" year, the patriots had no reg. season adversity and choked. I think the same can be said about just about any superbowl winner in the past 5 years

Of course this is a SB team.......
Green Bay would probably slaughter us in the Bowl, but maybe somebody can do the dirty work for us.
As far as I am concerned the AFC is wide open.
Flacco s#cks.
I would like are odds in a matchup with Pitt.
Houston is playing with it's backup QB.
The West is a mess, Oakland is the class of that division.
Mark Sanchez...........

I like our chances, allot.....

If Schaub is done for the year, you can scratch them off the list.

And count me as someone who is not overly convinced that their 32nd ranked pass defense is suddenly 2nd in the league. Look, they haven't had to play Peyton Manning twice this year. Brees absolutely lit them up and Roethlisberger is the only other half-decent QB they've faced.

The Ravens suck every other week. I would not be as scared of facing them as in year's past. Truth is, Flacco - like Sanchez - has not progressed, and key components on that defense are aging.

Steelers - as bad as they beat us in the regular season, we still have had a lot of success against them over the years, so I'm not going to shy away from that one.

Green Bay has a terrible pass defense and an offense that has yet to be tested by even a mediocre defense.

Giants scare me, yes. But it took a freak show final drive for them to beat us, as it did in SB42, and if that happens again, well that's just not something anyone can control.

This is as wide open a league as I can remember in the NFL. Pats are elite in the two most important positions - coach and QB. We have as good a chance as anybody. Just relax and enjoy the ride. I have a feeling we will go deeper into this postseason than most are assuming.

how the Packers offense does against the Lions pass rush on Thanksgiving and Xmas against a suddenly resurgent Bears defense will be most telling about their offense.

Rodgers and co. are putting up ridiculous statistics, but i agree that they have played some truly horrid defenses on their schedule thus far.

See, I'm getting sick of this garbage. People think BB and Brady would get SLAUGHTERED/DESTROYED/etc. in the Superbowl against the 31st pass defense in a dome?

That superbowl would be a score fest down to the last minute, the last blowout SB was 9 years ago.

Edit: I like the Pats chances alot against this bad AFC playoff field at the moment.

lol..The Pats would go...as far as Brady and the O-line takes them...

I'm not even worried about the NFC because I think the winner is going to be a team no one expected ...

Given recent playoff and SB history writing them off is a good way to set them up to succeed. The Pack were written off after they lost in NE last season. The Cards were written off consistently before falling to the Steelers in the SB. And the Giants were completely written off the season they beat the Patriots. This year is especially wide oPen and the teams that are healthiest and peaking during the playlets all have shot, and that shot gets a whole lot better when a team has the best QB and coach in history.

Realistically? No, the 9-0 Packers have to win the SB because they are the 9-0 Packers, they won last year so they will win every year.

In the AFC we have to lose to the Jets because we did last year, if not then BAL because we did in 09, or PIT because we did three weeks ago. That is the logic respectable football fans across America are now using, and it seems to be unquestionable, it is somehow a fact we can't avoid.

There are 31 teams that can bounce back from a playoff losing streak, 31 teams that can get hot in the playoffs, New England isn't one of those 31 teams, that is a fact, if we question that fact we are homers, and idiots.

If you made better cigars, I'd give you a poster of the month vote...

If we voted for that.

We will have huge problems with Baltimore, Houston, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Giants and a few other teams.

I thought our team had a special quality to it last year. Maybe it was all the rookies. Maybe it was the emergence of Woodhead and the return of Branch. Who knows. I thought we had a good chance last year. But this year? Nahhh.

Does anyone here really think we have a SuperBowl team?

Chances are, No. But neither do 29 other teams. Should we just stop watching to see what happens?

Seriously, fans with attitudes like this should just flip a quarter and decide which side wins. At least you've got a 50/50 chance of "winning it all" but it's pretty F'n boring, isn't it?

How about trying to enjoy each game and just enjoy the season. If we make it to the playoffs, good. If we make it to the Superbowl, great!

Have we become THIS spoiled?

If I had to bet on it, I would put money that this team will not win a single play off game. Why? Because it's basically the same team that hasn't won a play off game in the recent years. No defense, no run game, no #1 receiver and the team is "soft".

Steelers, Texans, Ravens, and Jets could all come to Foxboro and win in the playoffs.
