Four hours before the first Pats game and both stations talking Red Sox!

On a side note, you get to hear Ordway stroke his own ego in stereo now on 93.7 FM. Hopefully they turn 850 AM into ESPN radio as long rumored.

This has been annoying me all day long.

Why? The redsox are a couple of weeks from the postseason, and are in the midst of an epic collapse. They've lost 9 of 11 and are only up 3.5 in the wild card now. The Pats postgame starts at 4pm and will go for 3 hours. Tomorrow will be all pats talk as the recap the game, but what is there to discuss for 12 straight hours right now?

And then you have all week to talk baseball after that. The ironic thing is Felger's baseball talk is about how three non-Patriots football games crushed the Red Sox in the ratings yesterday.

The Sox are New England's darlings. For those of us who prefer more exciting sports, it has been a lifelong irritation.

There's a pregame before the Pats kickoff. Deal with it, it's 2 1/2 weeks until postseason for baseball and the Red Sox is currently in trouble.

Hit the button ! I stopped the assault on my ears last year, and have to say I don't miss it a bit.

There are many other ways to get my Patriots fix, and I'm glad talk radio is no longer one of them.

It is 2 1/2 weeks until the post season in baseball. Well, if they don't address the Red Sox today, there is zero percent chance they will be able to address them again until the playoffs start.

You wouldn't want people talking Patriots on opening day of baseball. It is one or two days that they could focus on just football especially since the Red Sox got five months of extra attention while the NFL laid dormant with the lockout.

But hey, I do agree that discussing the Red Sox television ratings is really addressing their problems on the field. If they cannot beat the Chargers/Vikes in the Boston area television ratings, how do you expect them to hold onto the Wild Card spot? Has any team actually won the World Series with a weak TV ratings bullpin?

I mostly listen to Sirius NFL radio, but the day of the game I want the local perspective. Especially today where Sirius is spending most of their time talking the Sunday games.

Lets see baseball season=to friggin long
Football season 16 weeks -hopin for more;)

Talk about the Pats !

Rarely listen to it, checked out the midday show a few times but they really suck, Ordway is a blowhard but Holley is decent, when they have Bruschi, Brown or Belichik it's worth listening to. Dennis and Callahate are total scumbags who spread nothing but toxic waste, unfortunately spreading pure hate is a moneymaker so they stay on the air.

I hate talk radio all of the time. Luckily I don't listen. You guys are all way more interesting anyway. ;)

I understand how people can not like D&C. I understand how people can disagree (even very strongly) with D&C, especially when they go political. I don't understand how what they say is "spreading pure hate". But hey, maybe that's just me.

Carry on.

"Here's the wind up, and the pitch"

"Ball outside"

What do you think the pitching rotation wil be Jerry?

I'd rather put a gun in my mouth. Seriously:cool:

I agree. I was at the beach in RI today and listened to Mut (that's an appropriate name, by the way for that guy) and Lou and when they finally turned to the Pats all they talked about was things that "concerned" them about the Pats' weaknesses. I wanted to call them and ask what they thought the Dolphins should be "concerned" about. With those 2 bozos and Zo and The Pig, not may good choices around here.

Talk radio is essentially negative as a whole but those two scumbags take it to a whole new level even for that medium. Dennis and callahate never talk about what is good they focus solely upon the negative at all times, focusing on that day's villains and all they hate with the world. They never approach anything from a positive perspective and spend all their time hate and fearmongering. It sucks that Brady is on their show because i will never hear a word of his interviews unless the excerpts are run elsewhere.

What is there left to talk about with the Patriots?
Time to play......then we can all discuss what we've seen.
(Pssst...it is OK to multi-task as a sports fan. The Sox are and should be a major topic right now)

Listen to yourself:

[D&C] "never talk about what is good"
"they focus solely upon the negative at all times"
"and all they hate with the world"
"They never approach anything from a positive perspective"
"spend all their time hate and fearmongering"

I realize you don't like them, but don't you think you're exaggerating just a wee bit here? I mean, I've heard them talk a lot about lots of things that don't fall into these categories.

You are more than welcome to hate them, I have no problem with that. But this extremist language probably doesn't help your case. Maybe it would be better to go with specific examples. You're not obligated, obviously. If you don't like them, you don't owe anyone else an explanation for why. I just think your phrasing is a bit over the top is all.

Yeah, what's up with that? I was trying to get away from the Red Sox talk on 98.5, and when I turned on 93.7 (for some oldies music), it was WEEI. When did that change?

This morning. WEEI is convinced that the only reason they are losing the ratings war is because they are on AM and their signal doesn't go far enough. Ironically, that is why they never faced much challenge from other AM stations like 890 (which had a signal so bad that most of the Boston area couldn't get it after the sun went down) and 1510.
