Edds is some silly pysch-out signing (Miami). Warren should be back after Monday Night...unless some team comes alond and gives him an offer that blows him away.

Eh... I think I'd rather have Edds. At least he has potential to develop into something, as opposed to a JAG on an already deep defensive line.

Edds could be a wake up call sent out to SSSSLLLOOOWWWWPPOOKKEEEE Spikes.

Not this crap again.

How would it be a wake up call in light of the fact that they don't, you know, play the same position?

You figure that Edds will somehow force Spikes to will himself extra speed?

No, a lack of speed is only one part of a few issues that I see BB having with Spikes.

Posting those issues, valid or not, would have been a better way to go than focusing on the man's speed, since that's really not an alterable feature.

Do you honestly think bill didn't know his speed before drafting him?? His speed is fine 40 time is overated were not the raiders

Warren and Morris are both in the "Dude, let's face it -- you're not good enough any more to be entitled to a full vet minimum salary; so when somebody has to give up a game check, that's you" category.

I expect both Warren and Morris to be with the team most of the year, or until getting injured for the season.

I think that second sentence of yours got a little Gronked.

And it apparently worked, Reis just tweeted that Spikes was noticeably faster today, and he even redid his forty time after practice and came in at 4.29. Belcihik is a freaking genus.

Another tweet, this one from Curren, hank basket has been signed, Belichik is sending a message to Welker, Branch, and edelman to get taller asap or see you later.

Just heard on 98.5. Surprised there. He played well this preseason. I am guessing that they might resign him next week.

they will b/c $$$ is not guaranteed at that point:)

How can we keep Edd? Anyway he sticks this yr?

1) I guess Warren is inactive for the Miami game. Perhaps Warren will be back after that game.

2) I expect that Tarp will be active and have another injury. In any case, I don't understand what Belichick sees in Tarp. If we want to have a developmental OL on the 53, then our man is Edds.
Why can't we have 2 LBs that are sters now with a chance to play on D as they develop? I think the idea that Tarp is only a mascot went out the window when Butler, Warren and the 2 TEs were cut to keep him.

[qyote]3) Maybe Warren was in camp as insurance in case on of the FOUR acquistions didn't work out. We added Ellis, Haynsworth, Carter and Anderson. Perhaps Warren simply wasn't needed. Just maybe, we have enough defensive linemen without him on the 53-man roster.[/quote]
Warren only plays the same position as Haynesworth, the other 3 play different positions. I think we wanted him for depth, but cutting him instead of a Pryor or Love means we don't lose anyone. Warren can come back when needed, and he wont go anywhere else. He said as much.

4) Pryor is signed though 2012 and provides position flexibility. He is a perfect patriot, and has done very well. I was not surprise to see Pryor stay over Warren.

BOTTOM LINE
Warren is at the bottom of our DL depth chart.
Why is Pryor a "perfect Patriot" Warren played ahead of him last year. If there is an injury to AH or VW I'd expect Warren to be ahead of Pryor. Pryor is a sub rusher though.

The Tarp situation is not particulary relevant to Warren, although I would have preferred to see Tarp cut. Tarp has a special teams position instead of a 5th safety. If we sign a safety, Tarp or Ihedigbo should go (Belichick chosing between the special teamers). He could cut White, but White is needed for every game as one of our top special teamers.
I think you are presuming a lot about Tarpanian. BB wouldn't likely be keeping him as a backup inactive ster and cutting valuable players if thats all he was.

Probably for the best. He was getting up there in years.

Once again. 53 guys are going to be guaranteed. They would be shooting themselves in the foot to cut Warren sign someone else, the cut someone else and sign Warren back in a week. Then they would have a guarenteed contract off the team.

He played very well last season and was looking fairly decent going into this season. I'm sure he will be called if we need him again, and I'm sure he'll come running back. He's a good dude.

Warren is a vested vet. Hence he doesn't have to go through waivers and can turn down any team.
He can, but why would he? If he gets an offer before week 1, his entire salary will be guaranteed. Doubtful he'd pass that up.
