Patriots PS signings:

Silvestro DE/LB
Nick McDonald - OL (was in the Packers camp)
Markell Carter - LB/DE
Aaron Lavarias - DL
Ross Ventrone - S

Interesting that they still have 3 spots.. My guess is that one is going to Maneri if he clears waivers..

Silvestro and Lavarias signed to PS. No Darryl Richard

No Kettani or Farnham either. Little surprised at that too.

According to his hometown newspaper, Kettani will be on the Practice Squad.

NFL: Reported injury to Chiefs' starter could impact work load for Ricky Stanzi - news-herald.com

"Fullback Eric Kettani, another Lake Catholic grad, suffered an injury during the preseason and was released by the Patriots on Saturday. Like Preston, he will stay with New England as a practice-squad player. Kettani reportedly suffered a calf injury on July 29 and has been limited in practice since."

Re: Rapoport: Dolphins claim TE Will Yeatman

Unfortunate. Hopefully Crumpler's health is OK. I do think we'll sign a 3rd TE as opposed to going with one of the T's.

Except they have a tackle that very recently was a tight end. Maneri saves a roster spot.

Obviously they'd prefer Crump, Yeatman smith, but if it's once in a while?...

Re: Rapoport: Dolphins claim TE Will Yeatman

Wasn't Maneri cut today?

BTW. Crumpler wasn't in once in a while last year. He participated in half of the offensive reps.

Whoops, yes he was...

Oh well, these guys bounce around and become available again, sometimes.

After the recent safety follies, I'm not even going to second guess who's protected and who isn't, until the dust settles.

Yes, Crumpler had more value than a raw rookie would IMO.

The New England Patriots announced today the signing of eight players to the practice squad.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today the signing of eight players to the practice squad. Signed today were: LB Markell Carter, RB Eric Kettani, OL Matt Kopa, DE Aaron Lavarias, OL Nick McDonald, WR Kerry Taylor, S Ross Ventrone and OL Thomas Welch.

Patriots sign eight to the practice squad

3 OL, RB, WR, DL, LB and a S.

-Welch was one of ours from last year but I dont remember him to be honest.
-McDonald was supposedly sought after by a lot of clubs and chose us. Big Lineman 6-4 315lb.
-Alex Silvestro was reportedly on or was destined for the PS then didn't get signed?
-With 3 OL I wonder if one is just a place holder for Maneri or if we figure he won't clear waivers
-I'm a fan of Buddy Farnham and not seeing him on the PS and seeing this guy Taylor on it saddens me some
-Fan of Darryl Richard and his potential and again not on the PS. Somewhat surprised Lavarias gets on the PS and Richard doesn't. I didn't think Lavarias looked very good in the preseason. Must've shown something in practice I guess.

At least Yeatman didn't steal my #88 custom Jersey nobody is 88 now:) no one noteworthy either besides myself:)

Welch was that C/G dude. I am not sure if he was claimedthe same year as Larsen I think they were the same yr.

So only 2 TEs on the entire roster+practice squad? Wut...

Crump will be back. BB tried the rookies out and he was unimpressed. Crump was always on the back burner. We need him now since the 2 rookies were unimpressive.

No Maneri is interesitng. He must be camped out at the motor inn down the road.

If I were Molden, I would not be looking for a new pad to rent.

If I were Maneri I might wait a day or two before accepting PS shackles, on the theory that if Thomas Austin can get a gig on a 53, I sure should too!

I hope Maneri sticks. What other teams can afford project players yo step in and be useful? The PATS are perhaps the only team that can.

Yeah, it would be nice to have him, but he hasn't progressed beyond #4 T yet so what do we really lose?
Every year there is handwringing over the disaster of losing a young guy with potential. Almost none ever go on to do much, and every year we have a new bunch of borderline roster makers to hand wring over.
