Guess the other Brandon is gone.

Sorry to see Tate go, but he didn't make the leap that he needed to in this training camp.

Its a shame about Tate. I'd love to see what he could do with another year.

But the emergence of Price and the new kickoff rules really make this guy obsolete on this roster.

Let's face it we all know that the 53 isn't going to stay the same for very long as they sift through other teams cuts and see who's available.

This does not bode well if someone cut by another team can improve the Pats, especially when you see how thin safety and CB talent is throughout the league.

The announcement about Tate was just made. Corey Woods was cut yesterday.

Also, Cannon is not on the pup list. He's on the Reserve/NFI list. And it does make a difference.

Spikes must be getting nervous with all of these Brandon cuts.

I bet Tate gets claimed by 5+ teams.

yay for moulden... (seriously)

This.

And I admit to being wrong, really thought he could step it up another level and compete. Without the addition of Chad, he'd have been alright.

How many other teams have players the quality of Edelman, Tate, Slater as their 5th-7th best Receivers in Camp.

Re: Pats trying to trade Brandon Merriweather(was cut by Patriots)

Tate is gone :)

Posted this elsewhere but thought it belonged here too:

Every once in a while there is a BB move that boggles the mind. Absolutely mystifies.

What on earth is going on -- cutting the starting safety who has played 64 games in 4 years, knows the system, is playing for 1.65 million (inexpensive).
What was the rush? Who is currently on the roster better than Merriweather. He may be an ass but he was a known quantity.

BB could have cut him before the opener -- and used the next 8 days to TRADE him. Some team desperate for a starting safety would have coughed up a 3rd rounder. Incidentally, for a coach who value VALUE -- he could have let Merriweather go next year as a free agent and received some compensation. As it is, BB got NOTHING back now nor wil he get anything next year.

All he did wa make Merriweather a FA one year earlier. No loss for the player but questionable move from the TEAM perspective.

Boggled. Mystified. And its even worse if the Pats did NOT even try to trade him. Just what was the hurry, Mr. Belichick?

It stands to reason that there is a back-of-the-roster guy out there that can help this team and doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the Patriots roster. We've picked up two guys this past week, Dearth and Molden, who, at least for now, are still with the team.

Thanks!!! <3 <3

Yep, with Deaderick on PUP he suddenly finds himself the last Brandon standing. This is a clear change of naming philosophy for the team.

Seems like there is a lot of cap space available.. something is going on here.

Perhaps will extend Mayo or someone else.. but things don't seem right.

How surprising BB wasting a 2nd round pick within 2 years and a 1st rounder for nothing in 4 years.

SHOCKED

Here's a fun exercise: count up the number of teams with more 1st & 2nd round picks from the past 4 years still on the roster than the Pats have.

(and psst...who's that 2nd you're talking about, anyway?)
