I cleaned out my home office today and stumbled upon a huge file full of used Pats tickets, invoices and flyers.

Some years are missing but below is the invoice from my 2nd year as a Pats season ticket holder.

1993.jpg

$28!

Here is the rundown by year:

1992: $28
1993: $28
1994: $35
1995: $35
1996: $35
1997: $39
1998: $39
1999: $39
2000: $47
2001: $47
2002: $99
2003: $99
2004: $99
2005:
2006:
2007: $169
2008: $169
2008: $169

I want to say that the tickets in '05 and '06 were in the $127-$147 range. Can someone fill me in as I don't have the invoices for those years.

My season ticket for my local soccer team this year was £225 ($366). That's for 19 games as well, so a mere £11.80 ($19.30) per game. This is a team in the top league as well. I'm really glad our ticket prices are so much cheaper over here.

Interesting thanks for sharing..

I bought a couple of end zone season tickets back when Schaffer Stadium first opened. $5/game, $90 for 2 season tickets.

I grew up in Australia a long time ago and I know what you are talking about. A "season ticket" for an AFL club is nothing compared to what it costs for an NFL season ticket.

I walked away from the Pats in 2009 and I hope the person who got my 3 seats is cool.

I guess the question now is...do you regret it or are you still good with the decision?

I know for me that even if I were to be called in the next 10 years there's no way in hell I could afford a season ticket package

hahahaahahahhahaha ! Im old too. I remember Shaefer beer !! It sucked .....Should have called it Jets beer. Its amaze's me how the prices have gone up though. The price of success is worth it.:rocker:

Pats are still the best deal in town as far as I'm concerned.

J Plunkett's first year, IIRC we won 2 games.

Old is right, one of the first games I remember seeing was the Giant's Colt's Championship game with my father...... :D

u've been sitting in the same seats for all those years? hmm.. mine have gone up 4 times, yours have gone up 8x..

I went to about 15 games between 1967 and 1975, but can't remember what it cost as I didn't pay. I had seasons tickets in 1981-1988, and the first year it was $15 a pop around the 20.

Anyone know that story about Schaefer? When the plumbing was in, they tested it by flushing all the toilets at once, well of course no system is built for that kind of load and the pipes burst. What an operation... it's damn fortunate that they stayed here, it was pretty dicey a couple of times.

You have to consider that you are watching soccer. I would say that you just got screwed out of $19.00:D per game. But that's just me.

Plunkett was a rookie in 1971 - first year the Patriots played in Foxboro at Schaefer Satdium. Patriots went 6-8 (after going 2-12 in 1970). My end zone seats in 1971 were $4 - cheap enough that a 15 year old with a paper route could afford to buy tickets.

I was at that Raiders game and they won.

My cousin was over from England, the previous year I was in London and he took me to a Chelsea/Everton Soccer match. I took him to the Pats Raiders preseason game.

I remember going to the Foxboro trotter track when the Sports Huddle people held the Superfoot contest, was J Smith our kicker by then?

Prices seem to pretty consistently be going up once every three years. Some years I don't think it's justified by inflation/economic conditions. The handling charge always struck me as a bogus cash grab. :blahblah: But I wouldn't give up my season tix for anything. :)

See that and raise you

Went to Pats games pre-Schaffer Stadium in Fenway Park. Bleacher seats were behind the EZ and cost $2.50. Took my future wife to games. Interesting times as guys would smash beer bottles and fight with them. Being brainless (just over 20) it didn't faze me.

Lance Allworth, Cookie Gilchrist, Elbert Dubenion...

Me too. First regular season game in Foxboro.

Patriots 20 Raiders 6 - that was a huge upset.

Pats also had big upsets against the Colts (in Baltimore) and the Dolphins.
