I got three. So..Uh...go me? Total freakin luck, I just had this bizarre feeling about cannon. When I was typing the post I had Lee Smith at the bottom of the list but deleted him because I didn't want to be that dude throwing in the blocking TE.

you had a great list, but i hate to break it to you...the cannon pick doesn't count because he was the 11th of 12 in your list of 9. :bricks:

I don't follow the rules, I let the rules follow me. Could be a saying I developed to compensate for the points my teachers used to deduct for "not reading directions", but hey I'm an iconoclast.:p

Couldn't one argue that in a game of getting 33%, an additional 33% is a rub?

Just trying to have some fun.

Three is still a stunning number. I am happy with my one (Ras-I)....but why is he the only guy that inspires confidence in this draft?

You are indeed a marvel of consistency!

And the winning score was: 2.

Not a huge number, but in a year when 2 of the Pats picks were too obscure for NFL.com to even know their height, very respectable. And as a group, we put in a strong showing -- I counted 30 different posters who got at least one pick right, and 5 tied for the win. Your 2011 PatsFans draft champions:

Vereen was the most common correct pick with 14 votes. Solder got 12, Dowling 7, Ridley and Mallett one apiece. After round 3, nada.

Come back next year for another round of ritual humbling!

Can I at least get an asterisk?

...running away with both hands covering my head!!!

In keeping with your 33% theme, I gave you an extra .33 points for Cannon. But then I had to subtract .33 for your vote for "Nate Soldier." Thus the tie. ;)

Hahahahaha well played! Thanks for the effort on the thread.

We are now moving on to year Seven still batting .000

Although I did make a "joke" entry last year of 12 guys all named Brandon and got two right which has inspired my actual selections for this year.......

Cameron Jordan, DE California- Size, Strength, Speed
Jordan Cameron, TE USC- just on name and position alone
Jordan Todman, RB UConn- ditto
Tyler Sash, S Iowa- if nothing else, and absolute ST demon
John Moffitt, G Wisconsin- mean, nasty
Anthony Costanzo, OT BC- BC OT, you really can't go wrong
Charles Clay, FB, Tulsa- Swiss army knife in cleats
Jonathan Baldwin, WR Pittsburg- alot of talent and height, may slip into late second early third
Bruce Carter, OLB North Carolina (This guy is going to be a steal for someone in the later rounds, most likely will have to start on the PUP, but is a true sideline to sidline OLB)

Another 0-for, of course, I was under the impression that the Pats were going to try and draft players that would actually hlep the team, my bad.

I had Cannon and Vereen in my draft contest. I have to admit that I had my selection submitted before Cannon's official announcement came out about his cancer. I was also the first to post that Cannon had cancer from source that was assailed for this info. TCU denied it vehemently, but ultimately ESPN reported it monday. I'm thrilled with these two picks.

WOW: this could be a record! I counted 9 Nate Solder predictions! (of course I went 0-3).

I guess we chould have all listened to BOR!!!!!
Yes you should, then we'd all be one pointers like me.! :eat2:

So humble, Box. I saw on numerous occasions where you suggested Solder, Vereen, Dowling, and Smith. You had zeroed in on those guys when the rest of us hadn't, and also correctly analyzed the roster composition, so I'd say you're a far sight closer to accuracy than the rest of us.

Did any of you guys expect him to go @ #17?

Honestly I thought he would be #28. I'll take it anyway. He's a monster and now we have 2 6'8" bookends on the line. Scarrnechia barely measures up to their knees, but I still give him props as a great coach. Has anyone ever had a longer tenure with our organization? How about anyone with any other organization. The guys a rock.

Perhaps we will do a top twenty contest? If only to allow for those blocking TEs. What say patchick?

Proof that a blind squirrel can find a stopped clock, or something like that in my case.

Actually if anything it shows that what matters is not so much what you yourself know on a specific subject (that would be me), but to have figured out where to find and whom to trust with good information - and also which blowhards' advice and analysis should be avoided.

Only got Vereen right this year, but nobody got more than 2 so I feel pretty good about that. I think the kid's going to be a gamer. I love the fact that he can also catch the football out of the backfield and pass block. Everytime Maroney was out there, you knew the Pats were either going to predictably run the ball or RISK losing Brady's head! I didn't like that latter option so much. :p
