Pats Player will show up to workouts ASAP and demand money, but who?

As a follow up, the league is already backtracking:

League will allows players into facilities, but possibly not weight rooms | ProFootballTalk

The lockout is over. The owners have lost the round. From this early positioning of the owners, it looks as if it's going to be about achieving minimal compliance until the outcome of the appeal regarding the stay.

Hard to know what is in the actual contracts but it seems to me that keeping players from the weight and film rooms would be non-compliant in that they are areas vital to the players performances and an expected part of the agreement between player and team.

The NFL had and still has another hurdle to clear if the stay is granted, as they would be drafting players and claiming their rights but not willing to offer contracts to them, and if anything that would once again reinforce the player's anti-trust suit in that such conduct is only permisable with agreement with the player's as a whole. As a plaintiff Von Miller would have an excellent case that his rights are being infringed upon when a team claims the exclusive right to him but won't offer a contract.

Merriweather. He's a Miami alumn, he must be out of money by now, living with his cousin like Redman and trying to sell his teeth jewelry :D.

nice backhanded racism, guess it could never be a white guy who needs money (that, by the way, he's entitled to)

My guess is Wilfork. It's probably not that he needs the money, but Bianca told him to.

I think the following guys having a roster bonus, although not all may be due at the start of the league year:

Tom Brady
Jermaine Cunningham
Rob Gronkowski
Aaron Hernandez
Dan Koppen
Devin McCourty
Marcus Stroud
Wes Welker

There may be others, but I think those guys all have roster bonus money coming.

Brady's $ 4 million roster bonus is not due until 2 weeks into training camp. Koppen's $500,000 roster bonus is due the 15th day of the League Year. Welker's $250,000 roster bonus is due the 5th day of the League Year.

I doubt that Cunningham and Gronkowski have roster bonuses in their contracts.

"Vince Wilfork says he won't head to Foxboro for workouts until there is more finality with lockout. "Long way to go."

Per Mike Reiss via twitter.

This is incorrect. Well, to be more precise, the league cannot maintain the lockout without being in contempt of court/in violation of a court order (injunction).

OK, who here wants to see a cuffed Bob Kraft make the perp walk?

I read this as 'Big Vince ain't comin in until Kraft has that fantastic training table food available'

I got one word for all this bullsh!t...Cluster If You See Kay
That's the one word I was thinking for this entire farce.. bullshít.

Isn't Brady's bonus lockout proof too? I thought I read that somewhere that whether there is a season or not that he gets that bonus. It is tied to a date, not the football calendar.

If the owners and players listen closely today they just might hear a stir of interest in their otherwise heading-for-disaster league. Gents, what you hear is the sound of people not yet fed up with your almost unprecedented greed. Blow them off again and how many won't come back? Can you really afford losing 10, 20, 30% of your fans?? By rushing to court and trying to keep the players from 'playing' you owners look even more contemptuous than I thought you could. Of course the players turning down a gold-plated last second offer from the owners didn't smell right either. Hmm, maybe you all SHOULD GET OFF YOUR ASSES, ACT LIKE ADULTS AND PUT THIS RIDICULOUS DISPUTE TO REST!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, his workout bonus is only $100k and he got an $18 million signing bonus last year. I don't think that workout bonus means much. His weight bonus (he needs to be under a certain weight when he arrives to training camp) is larger than his workout bonus.

Are getting this wrong on purpose? I ask because you're doing so in two different threads.

The very wording of the judge's ruling:

C'mon, Triumph, this one isn't even in doubt.

It is very well in doubt.

The court ruled the lockout ended, but players cannot lift weights, seek treatment from trainers. Manning cannot begin negations on his mew contract. Free Agency is non existent. Union Rep Jay Feely is instructing Cardinal player not to go to the team facility. Other players around the NFL are doing to same.

Furthermore, I quoted a direct statement from the NFL in regards to the owners still operating under lockout rules.

If you cannot believe the NFLs official network, who can you believe.

I doubt that Cunningham and Gronkowski have roster bonuses in their contracts.

I don't have copies of their contracts, which is why I said "I think".

However, Ian Rappaport reported it as so in his 3/14/2011 article that has since been archived:

LINK

In the article he states Gronkowski has an $830K roster bonus and Cunningham has a $525K roster bonus coming this year. Maybe he got his terminology mixed up and it is some kind of option bonus, but I just went with what he reported.

Banta-Cain.

For some reason, a guy who is on way too much money for his ability/depth chart spot would be the one acting like an ass.

there was a chart a little while ago that had a bunch of guys who will be missing out on bonuses. TFB had a * next to his name because he gets his anyways.
