Kudos to whomever mentioned Andruzzi. I recall an article back in '02 about his knee injuries. I wish I could recall the specifics, but that dude was playing in constant nausea inducing pain.

Of course the list starts and ends with Tedy Bruschi.

Bruce Armstrong should be included

Maybe not top 10 but Irving Fryar deserves an honorable mention!

Brian Cox might have been one of the toughest Pats ever and a very underrated missing link addition to that SB championship season.

10. Randy Moss
9. Hart Lee Dykes
8. Patrick Pass
7.Chad Jackson
6. Scott Sisson
5. Scott Secules
4. Tony Simmons
3. Terry Glenn
2. Eugene Chung
1. Tony Eason

Doug Gabriel deserves to be on that list

Moss doesn't deserve to be on that joke list.Fairly disrespectful towards a guy who has been a monster for us and has done nothing but praised NE after his departure. You could say that he was immature and had attitude problems which affected his play but i don't think he was soft because of it.He is one of the best ever and it wasn't just because he was extremely talented.Seen plenty of physical freaks who never amount to ****.

Don't forget the tough old timers.

Larry Eisenhauer

Nick Buonoconti

Babe Parilli

Jimmy Colclough

Gino Cappeletti

Gary Guyton

Good addition

I credit Cox with helping to change and improve the mindset of the Patriots - he deserves credit for helping to instill an overall sense of toughness on the team that carries forward today.

Guys like Roman Phifer and Joe Andruzzi are counted in that bunch for me.

It's not to say guys from earlier eras or later eras weren't tough - but I think they really instilled a tough team attitude that made other guys play harder.

Joe Andruzzi's brothers.

I have to say Jim Plunkett.........I never saw someone get hit so much and still show up the next week

Absolutely! Bru's retirement leaves a hole in my heart.

Richard Tardits...those Frenchies are tough as nails....:D

Shawn Jefferson deserves an honorable mention for hanging onto that pass after he got knocked out on the incut.

Don't remember the game or the opponent, but I remember that hit. Tuna had just raked him over the coals for dropping a couple passes earlier in the day. He hung onto that one!

And seeing Junior at the end of SB42 broke my heart. How he played at that level at his age, boggles my mind.

At least we had the pleasure of rooting for two of the best, and toughest, linebackers to ever play the game.

David Patten says Hi!

Buffalo game
