Randy Moss still longing for the Patriots

hahah ii'm going to go ahead and assume you were being sarcastic... lost in typing.

As far as your question answer: starts with b and grows on a tree

Oh oh..... wait...... Banana's?

Moss should co-host a syndicated sports talk radio show. He can be witty and articulate. He's also unpredictable making it worth while to tune in. I can't think of who his co-host should be though. Maybe a retired QB?

How does that song go? "Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own..."

nice coldplay reference.

our offense picked up after moss left but then theres 08...so im torn.

Pay no more than $1 million for one year and try him out again just like his first year here. Any complaints or screw ups he's gone...i say go for it!

That's the only way I see him coming back. Signing a 1-year low pay deal. If he doesn't mind not being the primary target as the Pats offense has evolved, then this could work out. If other defenses want to single cover him, I think I know where the ball is going. If not, our TEs and WW will have a field day underneath. I don't think Randy is hurting for money, but he is still missing that ring. Come on Randy, show you want to come back and not just talk about it.

Each year we bring a vet FA WR into camp. Let him sign a 1yr incentive laden deal and make him beat out Price or Tate. He already got us back that 3rd rd pick so if he outcompetes them in camp I have no problem trading/cutting them. Its about COMPETITION after all, if Randy has to compete in camp for a roster spot that alone should motivate him in the right/Patriot direction. With him, Branch and Welker on the field at the same time you tell me the offense wouldnt be more dynamic than Branch/Welker/Tate?? Chances are 1 of them doesnt even make it out of camp and play a full season, Randy could be the type to not start the season with the team but called on if a reciever went down ala Seau.

I really think the pats are going to have another go at Moss..one year..intensive based contract..that's all he probably wants at this point since he knows he F'ed up

Sure, why not....... Nobody's playing anytime soon anyway, and I'm sure someone needs to sell tickets and empty the trash at Patriot Place in the meantime.

Perhaps if he grovels a little more, Belichick will let him walk his dogs.

Whatevs.... I got used to seeing Branch back so it's wouldn't be a streach to see Randy back.

Having him back would still be better than Tate...he might actually do something.

I want him back, he still pulls the safety to his side of the field. Making it a lot tougher to flood the short zones against the pats.

He wanted out, hoping to get a contract before the season shut down, it did not work out for him, The business side did not work out for him but now he has a chance for the game side to, so he wants to come back. The players also want him back.

if FA does not start before the draft and we get a "top" WR well, bye Randy. If we don't we have Randy in the back pocket.

First commandment: Thou shalt not distract thy team.

Come on guys. I feel exactly the same way, I really want him to suit up, I really want him to prove how great he is one more time, and prove how humble he is, and prove how he's mended his ways, blah blah blah. I want it to be 2007 again, and have this guy everybody counted out as a chronic head case come here and not be one.

It's all the more tempting because we've seen it happen before. But remember how 2010 started, with Randy basically being deployed as a decoy? Remember how he started the season warning everybody that he loves the fans and loves the team, but it's a business, so get ready for him to be a distraction?

Now think about 2011, if there is a 2011... what if you start the season 4-4, and the offense is scoring, say, 20 points per game, and they don't have the game plan Randy wants them to have?

Loose cannon. We haven't really seen adversity in NE for a long long time. Last season we saw what a PITA Randy could be even in a 14-2 year. Next season, whenever that is, we might not come out of the gate strong.

Let somebody else roll the dice this time. I hate to say it, because part of me just wants to look at the upside, but it seems like the downside risk makes it not worthwhile, all the mitigation strategies notwithstanding (incentives, etc.)

PFnV

Give him a shot.

I think it's just nice hear how bad a former Pat wants to be here, rather than former Pats *****ing about the Pats being too cheap etc etc

Someone asked Shalise about a Moss return in her weekly chat. She said (without revealing her source) that she was informed at the Combine that it wasn't going to happen. She said that the newly officially appointed OC and the QB both gave a thumbs up to the Moss trade, which was a rational assumption many here made at the time. There were certainly underlying reasons for that that all who remotely read between the lines rather than stick their heads in the sand can fathom. Brady has enough to worry about without having to be the day to day custodian of Randy's fragile psyche.

As much as I enjoyed having Randy here in 07-09, I'd always thought Brady did a little of this all the time.

He quit on the team, and is a locker room cancer.

How about.....NO!

I love how people say his attitude will improve because he realized how good he had it. This guy was a selfish POS everywhere he has been. Dream on, BB's not bringing this guy back. They went 11-2 post Moss, and were able to spread the ball around, improving the offense. They don't need this cry baby back, whining about how he's not getting the ball enough.

Good point. Nice to have someone do this instead of clowns like Ty Law or Ellis Hobbs "oh boo hoo they only offered me $8 million."

Part of me agrees, but part of me thinks of it as pulling a carton of milk out of the fridge to find it's spoiled. If you put it back in the fridge, do you really expect it to be okay the next time you open the fridge door? Sort of like people who marry their exes after a divorce.. There was a reason it didn't work out in the first place and it is still there.....

Bringing him back would allow us to draft a low risk high reward development WR later in the draft to be stashed on the PS for the year. I would bring him back but for not more than a $2 million ... a vet minimum would be an insult and it would be a mistake to bring him back that way.
